Re: Prospect Paul Williams calls out Antonio Margarito. Nice. So...the Game... ?
What about Williams-Collazo? Why not? Makes sense.
That's it. Collazo, Cintron, or the winner of Julio-Quintana.
He could go to Mexico and fight Zab! Ha Ha Ha!

In case you haven't noticed Margarito's resume is not exactly filled with top fighters
He hasn't lost a fight at Welterweight since 1997 hes a 2 time WBO Champ he only lost the belt because he vacated it to move and fight @ 154 since the so called Welterweight King (Judah) ran from him and didn't want to fight him. He came back to 147 and won the belt back. Hes beaten Diaz, Lewis, Kyvelos, Lujuan, Cintron & Gomez not bad at all. The record of his last 9 opponents and since he won the WBO title are 237-25-5. In championship fights hes 8-1 with 1 NC.
This was Mathysse 2nd fight outside of Argentina.......Come on people are we that desperate for fighters that with the slightest showing of boxing skills we think they can conquer a division thats so full of talent.....Just look at that other thread on how people are saying he could also beat PBF.....
Two time WBO champion, huh. Since when does the WBO mean anything. That belt is garbage. As for the fighters he fought. Diaz had already gotten his ass kicked by Mosley when they fought. Lewis was shot, Gomez had 10 losses, Cintron was severely overrated, Lujuan was mediocre at best and Kyvelos was just garbage. You said Margarito's last 9 opponents had a combined record of 237-25-5. Out of those 237 wins, how many were name fighters anywhere near there prime?
Do some research and find out... ;)
I can assure you they were more known and ranked higher then Williams entire career opponent's.
If they were that known you would of already said them. It will take reseach to actually find one.

Holy shat...I started this thread out as a jovial issue & it's come to this...you people are waaaaaaaaay to serious.
Won't matter anyways...I think that we can all agree that Margarito would get his ass whooped by Floyd anyways...so this is all of no consequence.

Re: Prospect Paul Williams calls out Antonio Margarito. Nice. So...the Game... ?
If Hatton doesn't rematch Collazo, he deserves a fight with exposure, and against someone to put him in line for a title shot. Let him have a crack at Tony or Julio, or even Williams. He might not win, but he's a game fighter that beat a very good fighter to win the belt, then lost a narrow decision that could have went the other way. Just like Tony should get a crack at Floyd, or the Gatti-Baldomir winner, If collazo doesn't get a rematch with Hatton, he should get a shot at Tony before Williams. Just my opinion.

:coolclick: Collazo won't get a rematch & I would love to see him fight Margarito.
That would be a pretty good fight, IWHO.

Oh!!! come on WackOff...
Tony called out the winner of PBF-ZAB prior to the fight.....
Then after the fight.......So?
Whats up? Wheres all the mad boxing fans at about fighters not stepping up to the plate?
Williams hasn't even fought top 15 opposition, all hes after right now is $$$$$$$. He needs to stand in line and wait his turn. Tony has been trying to get the big fight hes almost there now this young kat Williams want's to open his mouth and call Tony out is that really what he want's? Or is the 6 mill. he want's?
;)
Williams -
“I didn’t go all out and I don’t think he did neither,” said Williams. “I have great respect for Margarito. I’d like to challenge him since nobody else will. I heard Floyd Mayweather turned down $8 million to fight Margarito. I’ll fight him for $150,000.”
He said this before the win over Matthysse and was refering to when he and Tony sparred before the Santos fight.

Let us see the fight first, then we shall see. When will Floyd fight a NATURAL WW?For crying out loud, even Hatton has done that! As for the people calling for Williams to fight Margarito, you seriously are talking out of your ass.He has won 1 after dark fight, what kind of joke is this? >:mad ;D
When Oscar makes up his mind,we will find out what happens.Collazo Margarito would only be good if Collazo runs,if he stands and trades like he sis with Hatton,he will go down.

Collazo matches up well against anybody IMO. While Margarito is fightin Sharmba, I think Collazo would be wise to take on Kermit Cintron or possibly Paul Williams. Both fights are winnable for him and both would be exciting.

Re: Prospect Paul Williams calls out Antonio Margarito. Nice. So...the Game... ?
Collazo seems to have his mind set on 1 thing and 1 thing alone:Hatton rematch. Read the interview I posted. He also mentions Cotto when he moves but Hulk,I disagree,Collazo would get crushed if he stood to toe with Tony Margarito. His punches did not look powerful at all, pitter patter type shots.

I never said he wouldn't. If he were to fight Tony, he would have to move and box like he did against Gonzalez. That was the only time I had seen him b4 the Hatton fight. He usually boxes and moves a lot, it was out of character for him, the way he fought Hatton.

Re: Prospect Paul Williams calls out Antonio Margarito. Nice. So...the Game... ?
Margarito shouldn't fight Sharmba, that would be very dissapointing. Clottey would be a good fight, Williams needs a fight or two more
I wasn't nearly as blown away by Williams as Kellerman was, he's got a lot of holes, but he's decently entertaining and a prospect.

Thats because Kellerman has become an idiot and a sell out. He roots for and praises whoever HBO tells him to. His praise for Williams was especially ridiculous though, even for him.

Paul Williams is interesting, I don't know that I've ever seen a fighter that was 100% offense
Matysse caught him pretty good with a few hooks and he just kept swingin lol.
As for Margarito, I would love to see how he does against this offensive pressure
It would almost definately go to Margarito, but he would have to adjust as
his typical game plan wouldn't work.

Re: Prospect Paul Williams calls out Antonio Margarito. Nice. So...the Game... ?
On top of that the entire boxing after dark crew is annoying. Kellerman is the only one who knows how to articulate boxing in the same way Lampley does, and still he's got a speech impediment you have to ignore - not to mention he's arrogant and not in a humurous way like Merchant is. Lennox is obviously a dumb brute, no personality, can't speak without studdering, never giving anything insightful. The other guy is just a fuckin nerd, he needs to take off that tux and fix my computer. Have no clue why HBO is doing this but it's aweful >:mad

Yeah its pretty shat. Fran Charles is the nerd you are responding too, seems like a nice enuff guy, but obviously doesn't love boxing. He's there for the pay check. Kellerman is the worst though, just an idiot. He has no idea how to score a fukin fight. Also surprisingly this is not the worst Boxing show HBO has lined up, does anyone remember something called "KO Nation"? ???

I remember KO Nation. Kevin Kelley was on it. And he wasn't a bad commentator. Definitely a lot better than Kellerman is.

Yep, but the rest of the broadcast team sucked, and so did the fights. Cept one, PBF vs Emmanuel Burton. 8)

Yes but Six heads Lewis against his sparring partner Larry Marks was thrilling ;D I'm ending the sarcasm here ;)
But Lewis repeatedly saying in every sentense about Shane Mosley "he's the best of the best" was hilarious enough ;D

Don't remember that, but Six heads never was "the best of the best" and I think he knew it. Hulk was only a lad of 13 in the days of KO Nation and Thunderbox so thankfully he doesn't have too many bad memories of them. I just remember that it seemed like Clifford Etienne was headlining every damn card they had on KO Nation. ;D
