i would prefer 175 but if calzaghe doesnt feel ready for that, then a catch weight would be the only other option....
As much as I like poking fun at you I must be serious for a second, you're exactly right.Quote:

I feel a late stoppage coming on as well, as long as he shows up with the same gas tank he did with Lacy.
good, sounds a lot better than all the prospects they were thinking about Joe fighting
Joe will win a UD, I don't see him stopping him, and I think it will be closer than the Lacy fight, not really saying much though. Joe will probably win at least 8 rounds with his workrate and speed.
agreed :coolclick:Quote:

This is going to be a great fight, but I gotta go with Glenncoffe.
If Joe keeps up with Glenn's workrate, he will hurt his hand.
Glenn hit's harder, faster and from more angles than Lacy.
I think ppl are gonna make their picks based on which side of
the pond they are from though.
Glenncoffe Johnson, UD ( no knockdowns )
Not I.Quote:

i never pick a fighter in that context of nationality anyway.....its irelevant to me. calzaghe will win because johnson has been chosen for a reason. calzaghe is probably ready to fight now....this is last minute for johnson....Quote:

CALZAGHE UD... HOW CAN U PICK ANYTHING ELSE...
im going 4 Joe by tko mid rounds, Joe will want to put on a big show 4 his home fans as he will probably head to the States after. This been said he'll have to be careful as well because this could be Johnson's last chance at the big stage, it's all or nothing 4 him

I don't see him stopping Johnson though, and I still think there's a 20% chance that Johnson wins (if so, likely by KO). Should be a great fight to watch in any case. I don't love Calzaghe, but he definitely deserves props for taking this fight instead of fighting some schmuck at SMW, as it appeared he might do. The outcome of this fight proves more about Joe than the outcome of the Lacy fight too, IMO.
should be fun
give it some joe :-*
If he slaughters Johnson it'll look really good for him... I know more than 1 idiot in this country who thinks Johnson is great for knocking out today's version of Roy, of course never mentioning or seeing his 2 horrible fights with Tarver. Don't get me wrong he's good but not great. Hopefully Calzaghe puts on a good show, makes a few ppl think oh wow Johnson beat Roy and he beat Johnson, lets look out for this guy - then get something going with the Tarver/Hopkins winner. Best fight Joe could of made at this point
He beat Tarver in their first fight though. ??? Granted, it wasn't pretty--the guy is more of a workhorse than anything--but nor was it controversial. I agree Johnson's no HOF-er, but he's far more established as quality than Lacy was, for instance.Quote:

Other things to take into consideration:
For Joe:
It is his home stadium so BIG pressure
Joes Hand
He has been training for 168 and its now probs going to be catch-weight
For Glen:
There is not going to be much support for him
He needs to drop weight quite quickly
I think that Glen will just push it and sweat off some extra pounds to make the catch-weight without actually losing much more actual weight, meaning in the ring he will be significantly bigger than Joe. However taking everything into consideration ithink that the home advantage will see Joe right, and he will win by UD, and that it is an excellent stepping stone to to LH should he decide to go that way
It was Glenn who said "I'm not the best, I'm just willing to fight the best" wasn't it, after his Jones bout?
Recently repeated by Collazo ...
It will be a close fight, much like the first Johnson-Tarver fight. Though I Suspect that it will be a controversial SD
