Granted...He's kicking a ball but the problem is that when he goes in for a 50/50 challenge (Full bloodied-which lets face it it's a bit of him to do so) the ball ain't gonna move and the force of two fellas smashing into a 'dead' ball is what worries me.
Also he's gonna be targeted all day long by the opposition who'll be looking to literally kick him out the tournament.
Happened to Maradona in Spain 82,The Italians in particular kicked ten shades of sh*t out of him and left him useless basically.
Still very excited by the attacking nature of Sven's selection and one thing we will do is score goals and Imo a sh*tload of em 8)
What horrifies me is Embraces song... WTF is that all about and can anyone honestly say they know the Chorus.?

Rooney is there main attraction, if he plays awesome in the World Cup it benefits Utd aswell, enhances his reputation, makes Utd more Money, Utd will do all they can for Wayne to be fit and have done so far.

Snakey mate i think some of your Auzzie mates have been telling u porkies, firstly England are second favourties to win the World Cup, so i dont think you want the second favourites in your group, secondly your source of information obviously knows about the same level of info on football as you mate.

If England played Australia at the World Cup mate, Englnad would be strong favourites, i think you would need to start praying, but Aus are not the worst team in the tournamnet.

Yeah id reckon, we are all just happy to have made the world cup ;D Apparently we beat yas once, dont know when but it was a real upset. And i read that your coach said hes glad he doesnt have to face us coz of the aussie/english rivalry, doesnt matter what sport....aussies and poms will always have a rivalry.

...HA...whatever dude. Let us get some fans in there and we'll show you how things are done!
We can be just as wild and rambunctious as you!
Yeah Adu is decent he needs to get a little more experience before he's ready to play for the National team.
With Adu, Donovan, and Johnson as young as they are the US is going to be DAMN good very soon. And I think we're going to play EVERYONE hard.
What sucks is we have 3 different styles to deal with, Czechs are big bruisers, Italy plays crisp good passing, Ghana is wild as hell and fast.
England should do very well, they are my second team I'm cheering for.

Not that Im a football hooligan but if the Oakland Raider fans are your idea of scary and "rambanctious". Visit Milwall, or Cardiff City. Even the old elemenets of the Chelsea Headhunters And West Hams Inner City Firm are still dangerous.
While Im not proud of it being part of the game, English football hooligans are tough bastards when it comes to sports fans.
Now, lump em in with a boxer and theyd go down like a fat sack of crap but that aint the point is it :P

I'd hate to disincourage ALL of you, BUT Argentina already failed badly last World Cup and with great dignaty I faced on all who laughed at me and the team and admitted that Arg. had failed and was a let down.
So you see we already failed badly this World Cup nobody is REALLY talking about Arg. the way they talked about them last WC. This WC they are getting mentions....Well because they are Arg. but I feel theres no pressure there like in the last WC were it was expected of them to succeed. So with that being said......
MESSI anyone?

Re: Fifa World Cup... GERMANY 2006 discussion thread (link to match schedules inc)
Really getting into world cup mode now - so nervous about Saturday and it all starting for us
I'm optimistic about our chances - but also a realist...
We have the second best team in the tournament on paper (even without Rooney) but we also have a habit of choking on the big stage when it comes to the crunch. Rooney was the one man on our team who was a matchwinner and could turn the game in a moment of brilliance - Brazil have 4 or 5 such figures in theirs
But we are honestly due some luck so who knows - and aren't Brazil due a bit of bad luck ??
Can't see any reason why we won't get to the quarter finals then after that anything is possible - especially as Rooney will possibly be back and properly fit by then.
Like I said - we are due some luck ;)
Come on lads

I don't consider the Raider fans that crazy.
The fans in Philly and New York are the ones you watch out for. California is soft...s-o-f-capital T, sofT!
But I don't find some English version of a Leprechan scary...some bald 5'2 150 pound Brit with no teeth is not going to bother me. Soccer hooligans are feared because they have huge groups of them no other reason.
What's this with the Neo-Nazi's planning on going to the games? I saw something on tv about how racism is rampant in soccer and the Germans haven't prepared well enough for it.
