only winning by one round ?? the british public went crazy because watson was robbed anyone can see that and secondly getting battered by another man is getting outboxed and yes it was a lucky punch because watson knocked him down and was totally dominating so yes it was lucky punch

and eubank didnt throw enough punches in first fight to be honest and no way he won first 6 rounds

The British public only went crazy because Mike McCallum (who bitterly detested Eubank) said at the halfway point that he had Watson (his friend) in front! Then Jim Watt, nuthugging McCallum, said in round seven "Let's just say it's even at this point" ::**

But Eubank thoroughly schooled Watson and won the first six rounds as easy as a cuppa tea.

He would do a lot worse then Calzaghe did, not just in physical beating but in mental beating, he would make Lacy look stupid and even worse form then Calzaghe did and I doubt Jeff would be talking about a comeback anytime soon.

The fight was for a world title, Graham wouldnt have won ;)

You're right as it goes Starr - Benn, Eubank and Graham would of all been far more impressive destroying Lacy.... it goes without saying how bad Jones, Toney, Nunn, Hopkins et all would of made him look

How about Sven Ottke? :o Can you imagine the beating he would of gave Lacy?

Collins? Close? Dan Sherry? Nicky Piper? :o All would of embarrassed him.

I think Calzaghe exposed Lacy's lack of style and dimension.

Lacy may have ability, and he may have power and he may have speed, but if he doesn't have a gameplan and the right style and the ability to change when the going gets tough then he's just another Tua. Who will look spectacular if given the right opponents, but fighters with a gameplan to beat him which saddens me because I am a huge Lacy fan but Calzaghe took advantage of every flaw Lacy had and sadly he had a lot.

It was never a robbery, I had it by 1 round to Watson, Eubank definitely won atleast 5 of the first 6 imo. Watson would have won a clear UD in the rematch, had it not been for the tragedy - but fair play to Eubank, he did get the job done!

Watson v Collins would of been interesting.

watson won easy in first fight and in 2nd fight he was winning even more convincly until eubank got lucky punch

umm no it isnt bullshit most people think he won the fight chris eubank hardly done anything in first fight

it wasnt the most active fight but watson done enough to easily win

Take the Benn fight away, and Watson was never in Eubank's class. Nobody even knew who he was before the Benn fight, he was average. Eubank was special.

That was too easy for Watson, against Benn. All he had to do was open his gloves and cup both sides of his forehead because Benn was just swinging away hopelessly non-stop, and with Watson dipping in with those long forearms and big elbows it meant every body shot was blocked too. Benn fought like a berk, hitting arms and gloves until he was burned out. He lost that fight more so than Watson won it.

he outsmarted benn he fought very well u cant take that away from him and if he was so average and eubank was so special why did he give eubank such a hard time ?? and only reason no one knew him because public loved eubank and benn at that time dont u think its unfair he beat benn yet benn was more known to the public than watson.

no one knew iran barkley when he fought tommy hearns and look what happened to hearns it doesnt mean just because u arent known more to the public that ur average.

Watson didn't give Eubank a hard time, Eubank schooled him. In the second fight, there were rumours he was hypnotised and on drugs. Yes, he looked unbeatable in the second fight - but that's just one fight, and he lost anyway.

Not even his own camp gave him a chance against Benn!

The second fight followed a similar pattern as he overwhelmed Eubank, dropping him in the 11th, only for the Brighton man to rise from the canvas with that fateful uppercut to Watson's jaw.

A clash between Joe Calzaghe and the Michael Watson who defeated Nigel Benn would be lapped up by the boxing connoisseur.

The two stylists would fight out an intriguing tactical battle, whilst never neglecting to get the hard work done on the inside.

Of all Calzaghe's opponents, perhaps Richie Woodhall is the nearest in style to Watson and an analysis of this fight could suggest the likely outcome of Calzaghe-Watson.

Woodhall competed for 10 high-class rounds against the Welshman, but over the course of the 30 minutes Calzaghe's heavier punching dragged the fight more and more his way until the challenger could take no more.

Watson was a class above Woodhall, but a similar pattern could be expected against Calzaghe. The Welshman takes it in the 10th.
