Why, would Calzaghe not beat Tarver??...you make one sentence statements that hold no relevance to the likes of me!Quote:

Indeed, I do just that, he is my favorite fighter....Joe will silence these hypocrites who have crawled out since the Lacy fight. They are more vocal since he has been inactive....they will be silenced....Quote:

It is an honour to have robbed you of your innocence friend, although be careful with Miles. He's a shameless sycophant and hands out his coolclicks with reckless abandon. He's done everybody dozens of times so I wouldn't brag about anything you may have done with him.Quote:

im a big roy jones fan but i dunno, hes goner hav to pick his opponent carefully i hope he picks the right ones wins and retires i think he could beat lacy im not sure about calzaghe and i'd like to soo him get lucky and beat glen jonson jus to make things right, but what i wana no is why did roy drop from heavy back to light heavy... cos thats what done him..
well i think that droppin back to light heavy is the best thing for him...
Can you imagen gettin clocked by tua? or samuel peter? dont get me wrong there are heavies that jones could beat, but eventually, hes gonna have to fight a banger...and im not into watchin jones die on the canvas.
yeh there is a lotta ppl who'd knock him out at heavy but not that i want him to go back to heavy he shud hav just stayed and fought someone like tyson which was his plan before tarver showed up at the ruiz jones post fight conference and offerd roy out. but i feel its the drop that made roy loose his reflexes and really feel old.so mayb i duno he would be able to be fast and have finished well if he hada stayed
Sure how about 35 like Calzaghe's?Quote:

his performance against Lacy was so spectacular in part because Lacy just stood there and let Calzaghe unload on him, I don't think he ducked once and he threw about 5 punches a round. Put Roy in there with Lacy that night and put Hopkins in there with Lacy that night
And what happens?
its true lacy didnt box very well i was watching it the other day in the third round it started to aggravate lacy so joes on the ropes and lacy throws three wild shots joe bobs and weavs em cracks lacy a few times and sidesteps out away from the ropes i think it was that joe was there to prove himself and was at his best and lacy didnt do what he said he could.
yeah like I said, if that was Roy or Hopkins Lacy was fighting, how much worse would it have been? I think Jones would have stopped him.
Yeah cuz Jones has been knocking mother fuckers out for fun lately aint he ;)
hah inevitably roy would have reinacted that fight against that guy the destroyer... i forget his name now but the three or so knockdowns in the first round where roy looked so impressive... except lacy would have been got rid of early and somehow that other guy after bien killed in htte first managed to hold on till like the tenth or somethin... but neway :| lol
no but he stil has a bit left in him i believe.. i deffinately think roy would have dun lacy that night not that hes on any sort of a role.
It wouldn't take Roy 1003 punches to drop Lacy like it took Calzaghe ;)Quote:

Has Jones dropped anyone in the last 4 years? He threw the kitchen sink at Clinton Woods, boxed brilliantly, didnt drop him.
Trust me Roy would have been out of there way before he got the chance to land 100 punches let alone 1003.Quote:

And Ajamu has never been down and never been stopped so Roy wasn't knocking him out. And Ajamu put up a much better effort then did Lacy and it wasat Light Heavyweight ;) The division Joe said he would dominate 3 years ago ::**
yo did u kids see that triple uppercut roy threw towards the end of the fight? SICK son!
well fair point woods didnt drop but no doubt woods is tough and if it hadnt have been stopped he would have gone down eventually i think, as for roy loosing i duno man i dont think he cuda been beat by lacy, in fact im not sure its calzaghe we should be calling a maybe man i dont think lacy really impressed me before to be honest.
Jones still retains plenty of skill, the thing that bothers me about him potentially fighting someone like Calzaghe is the volume. Jones just doesnt cope with constant pressure, he can offer nothing back when under fire, Calzaghe has the stamina to maintain his assault from first bell to last.
getting back to the title topic, I reckon Anthony The Bullet Bonsante needs another opponent!!
Someone WITHOUT a left hook ;D
How many punches did it take Roy to even stun Badji?Quote:

Start counting the punches that Tarver cracked Jones with...then add that to the ones that Johnson laid Jones out with...then you have a number that you can compare to Calzaghe Lacy...till then...don't be crying out people making Calzaghe out to be SuperMan when that's all you do with Roy.
Roy finally won a fight...let's all clap...but don't be ripping on Calzaghe because he's gone throughout his career not getting knocked out & for destroying the best up & coming kid at 168lbs...& anyone who says different about Lacy is just a haterish human looking for an excuse to try & disgrace Calzaghe.
Why can't you people (not just you starr) just admire both fighters? It aint that hard.
well bloody said my son. whats wiv these calzaghe haters
on this point well he got knocked out by alan green and this kinda ties in nicely cos they say that greens next opponent may be lacy its a chance for green to go big and lacy to get back on topQuote:

come on wacks
you keep bringing up jones getting knocked out
why is it such a big deal when someone gets knocked out in boxing
a loss is still a loss
(yes here i go again, comparing MMA to boxing but...) why is it time to quit boxing when you get knocked out??
what's the big deal? oh i know, it's pride.
people get knocked out left and right in MMA, does it mean they should quit? no.
almost all of the great MMA have been knocked out only to come back stronger.
but in boxing, it does too much to your psyche because everyone thinks it's such a big deal.
the fact of the matter is that jones only has 3 or 4 losses on his record, it's not the fact that he got knocked out 2 times.
and it's not the fact that he lost 2 times in a row because mosley did as well and i think mosley is one of the best out there right now.
i think it's your kind of thinking that will bring boxing down.
sure you're a popular guy on this forum and you get alot of respect but that doesn't mean you're always right or that people should always share your same views.
give roy a chance, who cares if he gets knocked out again, he's a great fighter and he's great for boxing.
cheers :)
The problem arises when a person who rarely takes a punch begins to look fragile and begins to get horribly knocked out against opposition he would have wiped the floor with previously.
I understand what you are saying, but you have to see the distinction between the two scenarios.
