Hatton should stop Gatti though, but Gatti's heart could carry him til the final bell
eh, i don't know. i usually agree with you, but here i thought baldo was winning nearly every round. i think the same will happen with hatton--he's busier and more accurate than gatti, and will likely be inside too much to get hit with anything too hard.

Personally I would like to see Gatti in with Ann Wolf, that would be a more competitive match in my opinion, although I'd still only give Gatti a punchers chance at best

Not only is foolish for Gatti, but what the hell would Hatton risk getting caught with a good one and KO'd by a man who will retire after the fight even if he wins it.
Amazing point. :coolclick:

or exposes hatton......which one is it really? Collazo rocked Hatton and said Hatton couldn't punch.....this fight could be huge....on PPV that is.....
Gatti has a punchers chance, but his last few fights, he has faded badly halfway through(of course he was taking alot of punches). Can't tell if 147 is too big for him, or if age and mileage has finally caught up. Probably both. Fight could be exciting for sure, and Hatton doesnt have a big name lined up.
If Zab gets a shot at Floyd after losing to Baldomir, I guess it's only fair that Gatti gets a shot at someone after losing to Baldomir. HA HA HA!

Re: Gatti wants to go out with a bang - v Hatton!! Bwaaaaaaaaah ha ha ha!!!
Gatti's not a great fighter but he's a great warrior and has a great name.
It might be a good "business" decision for Hatton to fight Gatti.
But as far as "good for boxing" or will it "move boxing forward" as Starr might ask, probably not.
The only interesting outcome to a Hatton-Gatti fight would be a Gatti win - and a win that wasn't a fluke or won by lucky punch. An undisputed and respectable Gatti win would make this fight important. Nothing else could.
Other than that, Hatton has bigger fish to fry in terms of proving his place in the current boxing scene. No offense to Gatti.

I think you can still make a name in terms of bare recognition, but not in terms of credit. Like, "oh yeah, Hatton, that's the guy that beat up on poor should-have-been-retired Gatti, yeah, I've heard of him", but not "Oh yeah, Hatton, he's the bad motherfucker that ended Thunder Gatti's career--he's now a force to be reckoned with at welter."

Shut out by Floyd...& I mean pretty much totally...& then knocked out by Baldo.

Agreed...but what stands out the most as a malfunction in those statements is what I highlighted & then rephrased for you in my drunken Monday night stupor: "Hatton, he's kind of a bad motherfucker but Mayweather is the one that actually ended Gatti's career, then Baldomir took some left overs, & then Hatton fought what was left of the left overs of Gatti & that was after it was proven that Hatton himself was about as "Thunderous" as Gatti was at welter & so...that proves that neither of them were a force to be reckoned with at welter! Re: Gatti wants to go out with a bang - v Hatton!! Bwaaaaaaaaah ha ha ha!!!
Maybe GATTI ,is asking for his RETIREMENT PAY.Well, he will get it,flat on his back, and the awarding of the cheque representing his retirement pay would be done LIVE ON HBO.But will his fans love it?
-
Re: Gatti wants to go out with a bang - v Hatton!! Bwaaaaaaaaah ha ha ha!!!
Alright, Im gonna play the role of Devil's Advocate here cause I havent seen anyone say this: KICK ASS AWESOME FOR GATTI!
I was shocked when I first saw the title Gatti was Hatton, but now it seems like for a guy like Gatti that's the only thing he would do: After he loses two fights recent fights via KO and throw in the towel; he doesnt shy away (AND HE COULD, Gatti could easily fight some chump and cash in b/c people love him) but calls out a fighter in Hatton who would make for a Brutal war!
And you know Gatti is gonna bring all the goods for one final fight...it will take a sledgehammer to put him down. I know Arturo has enough for a grand-total-war Finale and though I don't see him beating Hatton, I see for a hell of a fight with fireworks coming from both sides.
-
Re: Gatti wants to go out with a bang - v Hatton!! Bwaaaaaaaaah ha ha ha!!!
Gatti would beat Hatton. I seriously doubt Hatton would stand up to the shots Baldomir took
-
Re: Gatti wants to go out with a bang - v Hatton!! Bwaaaaaaaaah ha ha ha!!!
Im not going to lie...I'd be really pumped if I saw Gatti vs Hatton happen. It could also be VERY beneficial for Hatton to take this fight. I think Hatton knows he can win and a fight with Gatti would get Hatton's name out there better than any other offer he has at this point in time. I couldnt imagine him getting a better pay day anywhere else either. If he wants big name recognition in the states; the way to get it is to fight Gatti. It would be an all out offensive night with each fighter having to take big shots and throw a lot of them!
I know there are some gatti haters here, but I personally think he is amazing. I dont know if it's just heart gatti has...I think he's also crazy! In a good way though, like he gets and that ring and acts like it's life and death and hes not leaving unless you make him leave. I think Hatton would be taken aback by Gattis power and though Hatton would be able to outwork gatti and probably get a TKO in the later rounds.
This fight would be ALL action!
-
Re: Gatti wants to go out with a bang - v Hatton!! Bwaaaaaaaaah ha ha ha!!!
I think Gatti would knock Hatton out. Don't tell me that about Gatti couldn't stop Baldomir, Hatton doesn't take a punch better then Baldomir!!!

The problem with Gatti is them big ass gloves he been wearing, Arturo isn’t going to KO anyone with them safety gloves on ! IMO. Gatti needs (Reyes gloves) or really any Mexican style glove to unleash his power. Gatti can worry about hands after the fight .In the mean time he need a little shot of Novocain in-between the knuckles, and let em punches rip baby ! just like pro football .

Hatton took probably the hardest shots Kostya could throw & Kostya threw it all.
No way that Baldo hits harder than Kostya.
Baldo hit Judah with everything he had & Judah stood up to it...Kostya cracked Judah for 2 rounds & nearly knocked Judah's brains onto Nady's chest...my point is...Gatti couldn't stand up to it for 9-10 rounds & Hatton has never been knocked out...hardly down...
Hatton would most likely batter what's left of Gatti's brains into a nice Betty Crocker like cake mix & would easily take Baldo's shots...IWHO.

Fwock that horse shat!!! If you all want to see an all out war...a real fight...then you should be clammoring for Hatton to fight Collazo again.
A Gatti Hatton fight would end up being an even bigger steaming pile of poop than the Quartey robbery we were all subjected to!
I tell you all...you are on further notice! Wacko is watching you all in bewilderment!!!
What can I say? I'm bewildered.
youre forgetting that both baldomir and especially mayweather would whip hatton (baldomir is just too big, and hattons not on mayweathers level)
i would like to see this fight happen, but i see this fight ending by hatton knocking out, and probably retiring gatti inside of 10 rounds in an incredibly entertaining fight

IF Hatton says yes. Fuck it
he might get kill but who knows.
My personal poll. Who would have the most cuts
-
Re: Gatti wants to go out with a bang - v Hatton!! Bwaaaaaaaaah ha ha ha!!!
gatti just can't take the punches anymore. He's gone down the road mike tyson has gone down. You get to a certain age and you just can't take the beatings anymore. He still has good defence, most of the time, but his offence has lagged in the fights against mayweather and baldomir. His chin can't keep him in the fights anymore. I love gatti, but even i see his chin can't handle it.
-
Re: Gatti wants to go out with a bang - v Hatton!! Bwaaaaaaaaah ha ha ha!!!
You gotta give props to both guys if this fight comes off. Gatti for acting like the warrior he is, & Hatton stepping up to what is certain to be a war. Gatti will perform better against Hatton than he did against Baldomir or Floyd, simply because his style is much better suited to how Gatti fights.
-
Re: Gatti wants to go out with a bang - v Hatton!! Bwaaaaaaaaah ha ha ha!!!
IF I was Hatton even if this could be a great match I wouln't take it because fighting with a guy that people already call him a hasbeen or shot ( I don't think that) and if he fights him and having a hard time beating him or even worse loose you would be out of the picture.(if you lost)
But if PBF watch that you had a hard time beating him he will want to fight you next. So hmm ::** now that I think of it, that could be something good.

EXACTLY!! Someone said IF thefight took place at 140 but it won't,read the article, the fight would only take place at 147. Gatti does not deserve a shot and Starr, explain yourself,I mean I'm accustomed to you saying crazy things but how te heck does Gatti knock Hatton out?
You have seen the difference in strength between a NATURAL WW and a blown up,plus the fact that Gatti has not carried his power up well...Hatton took Tszyu's shots,Tszyu hits much much harder than Gatti, simple as..
-

Besides Hatton and Gatti are great friends and have hung out together - Hatton was his guest at his home when he faced Mayweather.
We all know Hatton would flatten Gatti (even at his peak).
Billy Graham (Hatton trainer) was a commentator on the UK Gatti-Baldy fight and afterwards said it would be cruel for Gatti to fight on now - and anyone he fought him would be a bit sick really, that Gatti don't deserve that after what he's given boxing.
Too right
But I guess Buddy is ruing, like Graham, the massive pay day he's missed out on.

are you forgetting the fact that Collazo had Hatton on DREAM ST and STARRY EYED BLVD. Hatton canT take a big welterweight's punch. not a big puncher...just the weight it's self.....

Re: Gatti wants to go out with a bang - v Hatton!! Bwaaaaaaaaah ha ha ha!!!
This is a set up, to see if they can get hatton to bite. They stand a better chance at winning this thing that people give them credit for. The idea is that Gatti looked like crap against a guy that people barely heard of before that. Going relative reasoning, it looks like an easy fight for hatton. That The hitman will just tear through a worn down Gatti the same way floyd and baldomir did.
What people seemed to forget is Hatton felt the effect of collazos punches and collazo cant punch worth sh*t. Can Gatti box slicker than Callazo, probably not. But he can sure as hell punch harder and he can box enough to land some on ricky. Since Gatti started boxing, hes even switched to a southpaw stance on occasion which would only swing things further in his favor, considering Hatton isn't exactly an authority on fighting lefties. Add to that Gatti chin and body were good enough to last 9 rounds against Baldomir... who hatton is closer to stylistically than the super accurate, slick Mayweather jr.
Say for the sake of argument, we shave another 2 rounds off of gatti's tolerance level for getting hit.(due to physical deterioration) and ignore the fact that Baldomir was a big welterweight and walks through everything that thrown at him. That sets the mark at 7 rounds...The hatton that went the distance with feather fisted collazo would have trouble taking the punches that Gatti was chucking at Baldomir for 7 rounds. Gatti wouldn't have to be a tactical genius to land punches. The strategy that Callazo used to land on Hatton was relatively simple. Knowing hatton was lookin to parry the jab and counter with a straight right. (The weapon most orthodox boxers do against southpaws). Collazo simply started droppin 1,2's.. Hatton would parry the jab and get caught with the left before he could get the counter off. That happened more frequently as the fight went on and Hatton nor his corner, seemingly never figured it out.
I'm not saying that theres no way that Hatton can win, but at 147 its dangerous for him, as the odds are more stacked against him than people may think. Hatton really stands nothing to gain career wise from it. He can line his pockets but if he takes this fight and does beat Gatti, i think it will be a fight that Hatton wont be the same after.

BigItalianSauce - Ragu.
Who went down in that fight? it weren't Hatton ! and after Collazzo unleashed his best - did Hatton crumple to the canvas? did he run for his life? no he carried on coming forward and throwing punches!
Yeah, Dream street ::**
Fact remains, Hatton went up a div, flew abroad and straight in with a champ - in 7 weeks - rather than take an easy fight.
If Collazo was so average - why did Don King sign him? Zab judah told him that he was one of the best welter's out there.
Your just a hater man ! ;D

The fight at 140 is not in doubt IMO....Hatton wins it handily...
But at 147 in Gatti's final parade and after Collazo....there isnt all that much in it really...Gatti was doing okay against Baldy and Baldy is a bit bigger than Collazo....
Would be a war, and like I say, it just isnt worth Hatton to risk it...

Among the average fan it would be a really big win. I mean, even Mayweather to a certain degree, didn't blow up in the mainstream media until his win over Gatti.

I know who they are proposing that Gatti fight.
I would never say that Collazo hits harder than Gatti, but he's a hell of a lot more accurate, & more skilled IWO, than Gatti.
That's not really what I'm bringing in to question though. I aint the power...or the skill...it's the question of being spent or not...& Gatti is spent...it just really shows against marquee talent.
The fact is...Gatti can't take it anymore. Anyone that saw his last three fights knows that. As unrefined as Thomas Dammgard was...he hurt Gatti.
Hatton would slaughter him.

You can be sick of it if you want...but imagine how sick all the Kostya fans are of hearing about the Hatton Tszyu fight.
It's just a fact that Hatton gave his best & it wasn't good enough...a guy almost get's his ass kicked & his fans chalk that up to a bad night?
