fyi viloria does have a rematch clause on his contract for this fight.

WOAH!!That true? The guye he lost oo must be good,I mean he stopped a very ver very green Arce and now he beats Viloria too and may have set up a unfication match for himself! I can't wait to see this fight!
brian is an 80+ average punch output/round fighter. with him just throwing an average of just 30punches/round on this fight, something must really be amiss.

I was talking about THE Aguirre fight! Real strange how two people can come up with a different view of the same fight. But I do think he won it, though not impressive. I thought I've seen his vulnerability in that fight - being pinned against the ropes when hurt. It reminded me of Roy Jones Jr.'s being trapped helplessly against the ropes during his last fight with Tarvers.
yeah, the aguirre fight was a let down for me as well cos the first viloria fight i saw was when he took the title away from ortiz. i thought his lackluster performance against aguirre was because of the injury he sustained to his hand but it was downhill for him from there against a game but unexceptional romero.
and oh, welcome to saddoboxing, el phenomena. ;D
ccs to both you and pacfan.

Before you get disappointed, not very impressive; it's just that Brian didn't do much and the other guy just made himself busy. Brian doesn't have much footworks or foot movements (is there a difference between the two?) so he's an easy target. But he wasn't hurt much in the fight, or was he avoiding being hurt? OOps, I forgot, we wear different colored glasses so don't take my word for it, maybe you might find it exxxxxxciting!!!
Sooo you did not enjoy the fight then Pacfan?
Don't get me wrong, I do like Brian but liking him and having doubts about his ability is a two different things; so yah, didn't enjoy the fight coz it's not nice watching a boxer you're cheering for being beaten almost by default - being outpunched and him doing almost nothing (I couldn't help myself shouting "c'mon boy lets go get him). But let's not be too hard on him and talk something good about him too. If your gonna watch the fight, try to notice how he throw his punches during the first couple rounds: he literally explodes - those are explosive punches that can put almost anyone out if he does it consistently; but the big question is why did he stop short??? Well, I really don't know, only he can answer that, I guess.

Pareng Kisser any balita where Pac is hiding. Haven't heard of him since his retirement announcement fiasco. He must be footdragging on his training again. Really disturbing considering Erik has been preparing since months ago. Talaga naman si Pacman!

Not really..but Viloria made a grave mistake in the boxing game. He let a scared fighter get brave and payed for it.
Re: VILLORIA LOST NOOOOOOO!!!!
Just saw the fight earlier today....Wow!!! what the hell happend to Viloria?
It looked like if they put 20 lb. weights in each glove. He didn't throw for shet!!
Nino just kept busy and landed some good shots.....Did you see the Vilorias face after the fight? Pretty swolen.
Should be a wake up call for Viloria.
Viloria loosing only means 1 thing that he ain't invinsible. Get back in the gym and find that desire to strive and be the best.

Shocker: Nino upsets Viloria!
Thursday, August 10 2006
By Victor Perea at ringside
In what could be the upset of the year, unheralded Omar Nino (24-2-1, 10 KOs) upset previously unbeaten WBC light flyweight champion Brian Viloria (19-1, 12 KOs) and seized his world title via unanimous decision on Thursday night at the Orleans Hotel-Casino in Las Vegas. Nino, rated WBC #10 and hand-picked for this voluntary defense, outworked Viloria and beat him to the punch all night, as the "Hawaiian Punch" seemed surprisingly reluctant to attack. In the end, the scores read 117-112, 118-110, 117-111. The loss likely torpedoes a 108lb unification superfight between Viloria and WBA champion Koki Kemeda.
i cant believe that villoria lost. i thought he was going to win but when he lost i got shocked. i was upset

Erik has to prepare early cos he's terribly overweight whereas manny usually only needs a couple of weeks to get back in shape so that he has ample time to reach his top form. Manny is very diciplined in training when he gets down to it so i wouldn't worry about it bro. Right now he's just taking it easy spending as much time as he could with his family. Log-on ka sa Pacland p're. Medyo magulo nga lang mga noypi dun.

That's somewhat reassuring, thanx a lot, I need 'em sometimes... ...About his whereabouts, nandooon na pala sa US of A, I saw him at the Rahman - Maskaev fight on RPN 9, he was one of the guests of honor there, bigtime talaga !

Re: VILLORIA LOST NOOOOOOO!!!!
Ya, I saw the Morales picture too, ano ba sinasabi nyan weight reduction program at mga experts? he looked like a middleweight! Maybe another million dollars for the Pac.
Re: VILLORIA LOST NOOOOOOO!!!!
i saw the fight and it was frustrating to watch. he was like a flyweight audrey harrison, it was like he dint wanna be there. he trew only 400 toatal punches, which is great if your a heavyweight but not for fly. even roach was getting frustrated cuz he wouldnt let his hands go. in the last 2rds, roach tells him he needed a KO but he was still not letting his hands go. people are saying than the Contreras fight maybe catching up to him, almost killing another fighter can have some affect.
Re: VILLORIA LOST NOOOOOOO!!!!
Yup, could be so coz when he knocked the champion out with one punch on his fight immediately after the Contreras fight, he was reportedly overheard saying, "Oh no, I did it again!" If he can't overcome that, there's no way he can go back on the ring.

That could be true bro, cause he didn't throw sh*t, didn't even look like himself! Looked like he was sleep walking through the fight.
Re: VILLORIA LOST NOOOOOOO!!!!
There was something on the piece you did on Viloria that caught my attention before the fight, the part where Roach said that he wasn't particularly happy with the counterpunching style that Viloria was trying to work on in the gym. Now I think a fighter to be one of the great ones has to have a little of everything in his game, so I don't understand how Roach being one of the more respected trainers in the game would not want that for one of his younger fighters. I also think that when a fighter and their trainer/coach are not the same page that's a recipe for disaster and that's what I think happened in his fight with Nino. – J-Bird.
It was Steve Kim who wrote the advance feature on Viloria before the kid fought last Thursday, but I’m happy to credit for his work.
I don’t think Roach was saying that he didn’t want Viloria to counter punch at all during his fights; I believe the trainer’s point was that it’s not in Viloria’s best interest to adopt a counter-punching style as his main game. Viloria is at his best when he presses the issue in a fight and creates offensive opportunities (the way he did in his title winning effort). He’s young, he’s fast, he’s strong and he can punch. Why would he want to lay back and counterpunch like an aging veteran? Only Viloria can answer that question and only the fighter can decide what he wants to do (and not do) during a fight. I don’t place any blame on Roach for Viloria’s loss. Freddie can’t go out there and fight for his boxers (but I tell you what, if Roach were able to do the fighting he sure as hell wouldn’t be waiting around for the other guy to get off, he would be in that ass from the opening bell).
Could be why Viloria lost! Taken from Doug Fischer's mailbag...here's the link brothers......http://www.maxboxing.com/Fischer/fischer081406.asp
