Rumor has it that Floyd is getting the 8 million, plus PPV, and a crack at the linear title to fight Baldomir. Way more than he would've got to fight, saaay...Margarito.
Apparently it not only makes dollars and sense, it makes unification matches against the #1 welterweight as well.

You're right. In fact, I don't see Hatton gunning for anyone of importance either but I'm not talking about him nor do I care about him. Although this is the toughest fight Floyd has taken in quite some time, it is not the fight knowledgeable fans wanna see. As soon as I bring up Winky, everyone says that Winky priced himself out. How about, Floyd priced himself out? Lokk at their level of competition and tell me who should be calling shots here. Floyd new name should be Aflac the way he's ducking the really dangerous fights that are there for him. Every time he has a real fighter than actually has a chance in hell, all I hear is "AFLAC".

[/quote]IMO Winky is simply too big for PBF. I don't think PBF should ever fight at 154 because I don't feel it's PBF's best weight. 147 is PBF's weight. IMO

I;m not saying he's one of the greatest yet. But he's never been dominated thus far. Barrera got owned by Jones, Morales by Pacquiao, Pacquiao by Medgoen 3K Battery, Wright lost to a green Vargas IMO plus the loss to Vasques & Wrights record has only become solid of late. So to me yes there is still plenty of time & opportunity for Floyd to try to prove his greatness. Put DLH, Mosley, Wright & Hatton on Floyds record & it starts to get pretty hard to deny.
I won't go through every single one but like I said, they may have lost but does PBF have a fight equal to
-Mosley beating Oscar
-Winky schooling Tito and Shane
-Manny beating MAB and being the first to stop EM
-MAB beating Erik/Hamed etc etc
I agree with you Floyd has rnough time to make things right and increase his legacy but whether he actually wil or whether people are going to debate about him in 30 years time as the RJJ of this era remains to be seen,it is up to him.
Bro I don't wanna go against your boxing knowledge cause I know your the man... but the only fight you mention there that is better than on Floyds record is Mosley/ DLH. Tito was ramked P4P when Wright beat him, neither was Mosley the second time, Corrales was #1 at Jr. L & about #5 at P4P when Floyd beat him I think that is equal to the Winky, Manny & MAB fights you mention. Plus when you add in Hernandez #1 Jr.L, Castillo #1 L & #2 L, plus Judah who was #2 W. That's pretty solid comp. Add in linear Lightweight champion & with a win over Baldomir linear Welterweight champion & the fact that the Corrales bout would have been for a championship if the Rings policy was in place then, would be a three weight linear champion. Those are some pretty solid accomplishments right ther!

No way was Corrales P4P top 5 then was he?!?! Hell no,all I remember the commentators saying was that Corrales was P4P hardest hitter, certainly not actual P4P!! I still disagree,we are talking about resumes, not titles and the post I made afterwards containing who has beaten who shows those guys have fought far far better competition than Floyd! Erik Morales now has trilogies with Pacquioa and Barrerra, that is better than nearly of Floyd's fights alone....

Yeah he was bro look it up Ring magazine January 2001 issue to May 2001 #1 Jr. Lightweight & #5 P4P. Took over #1 position from Floyd with his win over Manfredy & stayed there until Floyd destroyed him. Floyd has never been in a position to have to fight trilogys, in his toughest fight with Castillo the 1st time he got straight back in there with an immediate rematch & took him to school. Erik Morales may have trilogies with both Barrera & Pacquia but he lost twice to one & got KO'd by the other. No one & I mean no one has dominated Floyd, not the great Hernadez who Floyd fought in only his 18th fight, not the power punching Corrales, not the man eater Castillo, not the slick technically gifted Judah. Sure his opposition of late has not been all P4P'ers but Corley & Judah were top 5 guys & now Baldomir who's a champion. Also Castillo is now ranked #9 P4P by ring mag a guy who Floyd put a clinic on in the rematch. You got to respect his resume the numbers speak for themselves!
Re: Does PBF Not Understand that...
You make valid points but I'll point out 2 factors,Castillo "beat" Floyd first time when he was no even P4P top 15 at least and did you say Corley/Judah were top 5 at the weight or P4P??

Corley & Judah at weight, I agree I thought Floyd lost the first fight, judges didn't even seem to see Castillo's body work. But the guy was #1 in the division. Floyd also stepped right back in their & gave him a lesson in the rematch. Just like Leonard did with Duran. Don't forget Morales should have lost to Injin Chi & Guty Espadas as well but got a gift in both fights, Barrera was saved from a KO by his corner in the 1st Jones fight, Pacquiao got KO'd by Torrecampo & Lukchaopormasak. None of those guys were P4P at the time. All I'm saying is everyone has a bad night but it's what they do from there that makes them a champion. Floyds record is solid but he still has a lot to do if he wants to be considered amoung the greats.

That;s digressing from my original point because someone said that Floyd had the best resume and I disagreed.and no way did Morales lost to Chi or Espades!! You kidding right??"?"

Wasn't me, but his record is pretty damn good. Nah I thought he won the Chi fight but come on Espadas was robbed!!! Watch the fight Morales got an absolute gift there!!!
Re: Does PBF Not Understand that...
Why is Margaito on that list?
