CC, ETM. You're gonna have a group of haters that'll dispute that to no end. But they choose to ignore victories by Tito over some very good boxers in their prime. Oba Carr was undefeated and heavily touted as a very good boxer until he met Tito.

People can come back from losses.
Chino
youre right in saying that people can come back from losses, but that depends on how the loss went down (think naseem hamed)
as for pbf................................
ive thought this before, and i honestly believe that should he get his ass handed to him in a bad way somewhere down the road (even once) that he will never be the same.
you have to take into consideration his confidence (which at the time is warranted when it comes to his fight game) is an enourmous asset when hes walking into the ring because hes wanting to become the greatest of all time, that will work for him while hes dominating but that same confidence will end his career if he takes a bad loss

Oba Carr wasn't a "boxer" he was a risk taker who's defense was moving back with lis hands down. Sure he COULD box but it wasn't his forte, he was open for every punch in the book unless he fought someone who saw him drop his hands whenever he threw ::**

"it took 12 rounds ..." Well, no sad clicks for that but that has a whole lot to do with Hopkins' style, doesn't it?
He was dominated by Hopkins for those 12 rounds and then knocked out. You can't turn that into a Trinidad plus sign no matter how you try.
Always did like Tito but as I said elsewhere it seems rather humorous at this point that he was ever 3-1 favorite over Bernard.
I think Trinidad could still be happily boxing and winning most fights. As long as he doesn't fight highly skilled boxers, especially those who are naturally bigger than he.
But he's got no need to fight. He's sitting pretty, as noted. He's healthy and content. Good for him, quite seriously. He could still constribute some to boxing, but from his perspective, why should he?

Of COURSE Oba Carr wasn't "a boxer", Starr. He was an undefeated NOBODY. It's no WONDER Tito feasted on him. Just like all the OTHER undefeated nobodies Tito took down. They ALL stuck out their chin so poor Tito could knock them out. I mean, why ELSE would Tito amass a 42-2 record and take out so many undefeated champions and former Olympic gold-medalists. It was all just pure LUCK.
You're right, Starr. How COULD I have been so blind?
Now.... if you'll excuse me for a moment..........

 I think you're overstating. Trinidad was a great fighter though. Look at Chavez, he had one gear it didn't make him any less of a fighter.
So what if Tito was one dimensional, since thats true it shows how good he was to get so far before he got beaten. He may have been one dimensional, but dang he KNEW that dimension well. Well enough to get the kind of record he has, he had skill too despite his weaknesses and that makes Tito a better fighter then people wnat to give him credit for.

Reminds me of what Pat Anderson once said about an IPA recipe he recommended - Columbus hops all through - bittering, flavor, aroma.
"Might sound one-dimensional," he said, 'but oh, what a dimension!"
He was right.

Yeah..is this the same Columbus who went to look for Queen Isabel of Spain after his trip around the world to prove the world was round right?
Yeah....even though Aristotle discovered the world was round 200 years prior and that Columbus made that trip the same year they invented the globe ;D

No, it weren't. But the Columbus you mention landed in the Bahamas, awful durn close to Puerto Rico at that, on the very trip you mention. Just a few salty drops away from TitoLand.

Mayweather is a totally different style of fighter than Tito...Mayweather's a boxer not a puncher.
Mayweather could suffer a beating just as bad as the one's Tito did...but it's hard to see Floyd getting outboxed as easily as Tito did...much less getting KO'd.
Stranger things have happened...but if Tito came back & looked good against a boxer...sure I'd say that he should stay in the game...but he got humiliated again by another defensive fighter...& he looked bad.
Again...I break out the Johnny Cochrane comment: If you can't beat the Elite...you must not compete.
