That was in business suits in a formal setting. Fact is Margarito hasn't earned a shot at Floyd. He was right in calling out Floyd, but you have to make some noise then make people take notice by taking someone of merit out. Margarito and Arum haven't followed through on the last part. Williams beat Mathysse, called out Margarito, make some noise and then beat Mitchell. Now Margarito has to fight him, at least imo. I was all for the Margarito to face Floyd stuff for a while, but Margarito froze and waited for Mayweather to make his move. He should have taken the Mitchell fight and then Floyd would really be hardpressed not to face him unless it was in favor of someone like Baldo or even (though I don't think so) De La Hoya.
Fact is, by remaining idle when waiting for Floyd, Arum and Margarito have helped Floyd's cause in his reasoning for not facing him.

Amat,I agree with you that Tony should be more active but fact is,and I have had this verified,he has beaten more top 10 contenders than anyone else at WW. It's like a B Hop situation,where he was the man at his weight without really having any names on the resume before he beat Oscar and Tito. And IF Tony gets by the rock hard and skilled Clottey and Williams,he deserves the big fights more than anyone firstly and secondly,who is PBF to decide wether who his opponents have fought is acceptable? When did he ever fight someone live? Can we even consider Baldo that? We shall find out the truth when/if Tony gets by these tough fighters and after the Oscar fight but you have to look at it from Margarito#s perspective,he's been unbeaten at the weight longer than Baaldo,fought more dangerous fighters and been ducked by name ones.And he's still being asked to prve himself. I just hope Shane Mosley steps up to the plate next year!!! >:mad

I'm not a Bob arum fan, but I am a Margarito fan. And Cintron may be shot right now but Margarito shot what talent he had and destroyed his chin. He basically shortened or ended the career of Cintron to the point that he will never be a title challenger. The biggest whooping Floyd put on anyone was the 5 knockdowns of Corrales which should ruin a fighter, but Corrales became champ after it. I've never seen Floyd end a fighters career as a prize fighter when they are held in high regard the way Margarito ended Cintrons, and maybe Calzaghe ended Lacy's

My point is that Margarito ended the career of Cintron as a contender. I've never seen Floyd do that to a prospect that was held in very high regard. Who is Cintron fighting for the IBF title?

Nah ... that fight was already made and waiting. Had Floyd not fought Judah based on his loss to Baldomir he'd have been scorned for that, too. i did see the first castillo fight, and think PBF lost a close one ... he's not 100% invincible. I think he beats anyone but DLH though from here on out.

Margarito's just a contender nothing more, he's done nothing to earn the title peoples champ. He never fought any of the former champions just sat in the background calling people out.
Forrest won the vacant championship by beating Mosley. Margarito never did anything to get Mosley in the ring back then after Mosley lost twice!
Mayorga won the championship by KOing Forrest. Margarito never got Forrest in the ring after he lost twice.
Spinks won the championship by defeating Mayorga. Now Margarito was calling out Mayorga when he was champ but once he lost instead of trying to get the former champ in the ring once again he did nothing.
Judah won the championship from Spinks & again did Margarito try to fight Spinks... no.
Baldomir won the championship from Judah, did Margarito try to get Judah... no.
That's 4 ex champions who Margarito could have faced to atleast desreve some sorta standing but he fought none of them. Now when Floyd beats Baldomir will Margarito fight Baldomir... no. Margarito's only a contender he'll get his shot one day, but it will only be when he has earned it!!!

Margarito's just a contender nothing more, he's done nothing to earn the title peoples champ. He never fought any of the former champions just sat in the background calling people out.
Forrest won the vacant championship by beating Mosley. Margarito never did anything to get Mosley in the ring back then after Mosley lost twice!
Mayorga won the championship by KOing Forrest. Margarito never got Forrest in the ring after he lost twice.
Spinks won the championship by defeating Mayorga. Now Margarito was calling out Mayorga when he was champ but once he lost instead of trying to get the former champ in the ring once again he did nothing.
Judah won the championship from Spinks & again did Margarito try to fight Spinks... no.
Baldomir won the championship from Judah, did Margarito try to get Judah... no.
That's 4 ex champions who Margarito could have faced to atleast desreve some sorta standing but he fought none of them. Now when Floyd beats Baldomir will Margarito fight Baldomir... no. Margarito's only a contender he'll get his shot one day, but it will only be when he has earned it!!!
Very few would blame Margarito for not wanting sloppy seconds and most with common sence understand why he wants to unify championships--fame and $$$$

Bro Dodge rankings, come on guys all the alpabet idiots have done worse. That scandle was over 30 years ago, the Ring has changed ownership three times since then. Trying to blame the current Ring staff with the sins of the past is a lot like blaming the current Chicago White Sox for the fixing of the 1919 World Series - unreasonable & unfair.
Don't forget that The Ring has been awarding championship belt since 1922 & that the Ring invented the concept of boxing rankings. That's a fact, there were no ratings before The Ring pioneered the idea.
If Margarito had fought one of the guys I mentioned I'd give him his props. You say why should he fight a loser but the fact is he fought Six Heads after Mayorga already destroyed him & that fight was got him a heap of expossure!
