Re: Nikolai Valuev: Is He The Real Deal?
I want to see him against toney!!! 7' and 345 pounds againts 5 foot nothing and.. well almost as heavy! I still think toney is the man and is just too hard to hit clean.
Re: Nikolai Valuev: Is He The Real Deal?
I like him. He's fun to watch.
I want him to end up being something...I really do.
I want him to prove everyone wrong. I'm even skeptical...in a big way...but I think that if he can box...& he can box...but if he can box effectively against the upper echelon of heavyweights...he's be an asset to the sport.
He'll put a lot of asses in seats.
Re: Nikolai Valuev: Is He The Real Deal?
HMMM parts of that story sound familuar??? The wrestling...Carnera...Wonder why??
Re: Nikolai Valuev: Is He The Real Deal?
Monte Barret hasn't had a fight since he lost to Rahman A YEAR AGO....honestly if I'm Hasim Rahman and I want another belt I go directly to the WBA and start climbing that ladder.
Re: Nikolai Valuev: Is He The Real Deal?
a) He is getting better, b) he seems very hard to rock, c) those who have slugged with him ahve been ko'd, d) he has stamina, reach, weight and now he knows how to use it, e) he cares about it. He could be around for another 10 years.
Carnera? VITALY Kltischko was bigger than Carnera ; carnera was slightly taller than Corrie Sanders; this guy is substantially bigger.

But Rocky never ducked anyone, Rocky fought everyone that was out there and Valuev has not fought ANYONE.
You cannot be blamed for your lack of competition when it's the best out there at the time....Valuev has guys he can fight Don King just steers him away from those guys
Valuev might be garbage, but he ain't stupid. If a C-level fighter like Larry Donald whipped his ass (he was robbed). He knows what would happen if he faced better fighters

I disagree. I happen to like Valuev and think he can become a great champion.

Foolish, boy. What makes you think that? His gift, title winning effort against Ruiz? His robbery win of Larry Donald? Or was it the way he destroyed smaller fighters like Owen Beck and Clifford Ettienne? The guys garbage. Accept it.

He might not be there yet, but he'll get there. He's improving with each fight. I've read some your posts before joining. There's seems to be no middle ground with you. It's either agreat fighter or garbage fighter. Guess what, there is a middle level. And Valuev is there. With more work he could become a great fighter.

You'll be 3000 years old by the time Valuev becomes a great fighter. He needs a lot of work

Valuev who knocked out Owen beck with shots to the back of the skull is a real improvement ::**

That's funny, I remember you saying that Owen Beck lost because he backed straight up.
Re: Nikolai Valuev: Is He The Real Deal?
Valuev does hit in the back of the head though...I don't know about Beck but he's done it before
Re: Nikolai Valuev: Is He The Real Deal?
It's a shame that Valuev's trainers all his life haven't made it clear to him that his jab should be the punch he uses the most. Had he started at a young age concentrating on his jab the most he'd be alot tougher to beat, with his ridiculous reach and all. He's extrememly beatable and that shouldn't be the case with someone as big as he is.
