Dont know. But I have liked Calzaghe since I read an artivle about him and his father in a sports magazine about their training and they were cussing each other out like mad. And Calzaghe said at the end of it "He's my dad, and I'm a homeboy" I liked him. But now I can get a true look at him with someone different in front of him. So I'll be watching this fight for critique

Was a fantastic documentay on Joe tonight on ITV3!
Frank Warren rated Joe as the best quality fighter he's worked with!
Was a great moment when Benn was being interviewed and Eubank walked in. They both embraced and looked like true friends!
The documentary, however, should have been called, 'Who the hell is Joe Calzaghe'?! 75% was about why nobody knew of Joe!

I think Calzaghe will win by decision but I don't think it will be as easy as many feel. I've seen the Scorpion fight on numerous occassions & he is a solid guy.

Man, I reckon he should go after the career defining division unification fight with the winner of Kessler Beyer, before he tries to chase down the big names on the American scene, who are, lets be honest, not really at the top of the division now. RJJ is not holding a decent title to chase, and Taylor would be coming up looking for his own belt. At this stage, it should be Calzaghe winning belts at LH, or unifying SMW, not fighting just for the names.

Its a nightmare, pal! I live in Korea and there is no chance of getting someone out until monday! I am a huge Calzaghe fan, and though its not a big fight as such, im still missing out on something that would otherwise be shown here.
Still, not much I can do now. I would have got it fixed sooner, but I went home for a holiday without even checking the tv set up. I ate lots of good bacon but Im missing out on the boxing now!!! :(
Hopefully, Calzaghe will win inside of 8 rounds and I can get fixed up for these supposed 3 bouts in the new year....

Several months ago...I had been ridiculed for saying that my wife was different...that she accepted my love of the sport so much that she could hang with the countless hours of me being on the DRBR & on this very website...that all ended on night when the clickity clack of me fingers on my keyboard interrupted her episode of Grey's Anatomy (to the Brits that don't know...GA is a very pop chick soap opera...yes I admit I have watched it!).
She begged me to get off the board...I was midstream in a nice verbal spat...& instead of relenquishing the conversation...I stuck it out. Seeing that my compu is set up very close to the widescreen for RBR coverage...the wife...enraged...ended up in the bedroom & Wacko ended up with a slammed door reverberating in his ears.
The next morning she stated that every Saturday night was boxing, boxing, boxing, & now it was even the week nights. Calmly I stated...You know I love my shit & I'm gonna be into it at all times possible...but any means necessary.
Anywho, Wacko now resides in the backyard...comfortabley housed in a lushly furnitured 12 x 24 foot room...the wife refers to it as the MANROOM.
It is ofcourse off limits to women folk...& that pissed the wife off further...especially since the furniture & lighting is twice as bank as what we have in our home.
Heh heh heh. Life is grand.

Several months ago...I had been ridiculed for saying that my wife was different...that she accepted my love of the sport so much that she could hang with the countless hours of me being on the DRBR & on this very website...that all ended on night when the clickity clack of me fingers on my keyboard interrupted her episode of Grey's Anatomy (to the Brits that don't know...GA is a very pop chick soap opera...yes I admit I have watched it!).
She begged me to get off the board...I was midstream in a nice verbal spat...& instead of relenquishing the conversation...I stuck it out. Seeing that my compu is set up very close to the widescreen for RBR coverage...the wife...enraged...ended up in the bedroom & Wacko ended up with a slammed door reverberating in his ears.
The next morning she stated that every Saturday night was boxing, boxing, boxing, & now it was even the week nights. Calmly I stated...You know I love my S*** & I'm gonna be into it at all times possible...but any means necessary.
Anywho, Wacko now resides in the backyard...comfortabley housed in a lushly furnitured 12 x 24 foot room...the wife refers to it as the MANROOM.
It is ofcourse off limits to women folk...& that pissed the wife off further...especially since the furniture & lighting is twice as bank as what we have in our home.
Heh heh heh. Life is grand.
Be that as it may...never fear...we'll have the same drunken coverage & the same drunken quality...so pound down a shot or two on Wacko...if you want to be able to understand the up & coming RBR. ;D

Yeah, from what I heard of the weigh in, Calzaghe hit it first time again in good style, but Bika cam in 1/2 pound over first time, had to go sweat some of it off, then get down to his baby suit, or very near it, to make it the second time on the scales. After Joe struggling to make the weight a few years ago, around 2000, it's good to see him no longer having to emaciate himself to get there, and settle in to being a top SMW and being able to stay there. No Corrales style antics.

He was over 6oz. A word of warning, We brits get to see this about 5-7 hours (timezone) ahead of it being shown on BAD, so I sure as hell won't gibe the result away but some idiot probably will by accident.

Anyone interested in reading coverage of any Joe fight in particular? Have pretty much everyone...not sure where my Ashria, Salem, or Lacy copys are though...might take some digging...but I do have pretty much all the oldies but goodies.

I'd recommend the Eubank fight, Robin Reid, or maybe Lacy, all fights well worth revisiting. Ashira was a snoozer, I was there and a real disappointment. But then we didn't know exactly what was wrong with his hand.

Personally, with HBO screening both the Calzaghe fight and the Kessler fight on the same evening, that would suggest to me, with both fighters not wanting a showdown in the other's backyard, a big US showdown to bring the big 4 straps in the division under one man. Are you going to be doing anything on the Spina Manfredo fight Wack? I know it's the least of the SMW fights this evening, but could be a goodie nonetheless. I think I'll stay up just to see how a non-partisan audience will rate Calzaghe this evening. And as for Bika winning, that would be carnage for the division. I'm not sure what that would mean, except I'd be devastated and drinking everything in sight in depression. By the time it's screend stateside, I'd be on to the toilet cleaner :p
