Re: Just Another One of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Mayweather vs Baldomir
I guess an upset would be,if Floyd knocks Baldo in the first 2 rnds out...
A real upset would be, if Baldo knocks Floyd out in the first 2 rnds...
Both cases pretty unrealistic,but... you know... ::**

Re: Just Another One of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Mayweather vs Baldomir
Honestly believe that Baldo comes in it to win it.
I really think that this is going to be a tuffy. He's the first legit 147'er that Floyd has faced...well...not really...but he's the first guy that has been 147 the majority of his career.
-
Re: Just Another One of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Mayweather vs Baldomir
I really really want Baldo to give PBF the fight of his life, but I just dont see it happening. You can have all the heart and determination in the world but if you cant hit the guy in front of you it wont matter. I think Baldo makes it through 12 rounds, but with a high possibility of his corner throwing in the towel some where after the 8th round.
-
Re: Just Another One of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Mayweather vs Baldomir
We are getting closer and closer, soon all of you will have the fight in front of you. How many of you are going to throw a party. It's now fair that you guy's get it on sky over seas and we have too pay 50 dollors to these greedy money hungry bastards.

I just think that everyone is wrong. ;D
I think that Baldo is going to gut it out & want to keep his stuff & take Floyd's strap.
Also...I see no way that his corner tosses the towel. I just can't fathom that.
I honestly believe that Floyd is going to fwock his hand on Baldo's melon ass melon.
Then again...I could be wrong...have been befoe! ;)

Wacko is!
I'm christening the home boxing theatre that I've set up in my garage out back & breakin in the projector & surround sound system this weekend!
Saved it for this very fight.
Got about 7-8 people coming over.
Loads of liquor, chips & dip (minus the whips), boxing, & lush accomodations.
Can't wait!!!

Re: Just Another One of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Mayweather vs Baldomir
I just wish it had a better undercard, seriously the undercard is a WTF kind of undercard. Guerrero-Salido :o Williams against guy brought in to get brutally knocked out :o
Still probably buy it though, but a good undercard is usually what makes a PPV really worth it. Unfortunately its just the main event here. Hopefully it will be a good one. Floyd has made his name on being perfect, except for the Castillo fight and a few rounds with Judah, most fights have just been dominant and dominant can get boring after a while. He might actually help his popularity out a bit if he was in a really tough fight like the first Castillo fight, maybe even got dropped and hurt and looked in trouble and fought through it to get the win, although I just doubt Baldo is the one that will make him do that.

Agreed. The undercard is damned near laughable.

The thing about PPV is...I'm never actually paying for an undercard match...so it TECHNICALLY doesn't matter @ "Yee Old House of Wack" because I'm generally pounding back some shots during the undercard. ;D :drunks:

Here's the thing (& I'm on the same page with you about facing adversity) about Floyd being in a tuff fight...everyone blows that shit outta proportion.
Even though Judah looked good for 3-4 rounds & even though Castillo gave Floyd a hard fight...Floyd didn't lose...he won & earned the decisions in my book...but everyone else ran with it out of hatred & took that shit to the other level & were saying that Floyd almost got knocked out by both of them.
That's just horse shit.
The thing here that's different...he's REALLY out of his weight class & Baldo hits pretty damned hard apparently...even though he's got a meager KO %...he's staggered many.
This could be a rough night for Floyd...or I could just be waaaaaaaaaaay off on this one.
If I am & Floyd mops the canvas with him...wait & see how many people say that Baldo wasn't shit & was completely overrated.
That's the pisser of boxing fandom.
Anywho...I want a tuff fight...again...but I want my guy to pull it out.
:coolclick: Good post Ooooomer!

Re: Just Another One of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Mayweather vs Baldomir
CC.
As far as the Castillo fight I had it a draw. But he did win the second.
I find myself wondering if I'm still underrating Baldo. Maybe I am. But even looking at the Judah fight, it took him to the 7th to get to Judah. Judah's talented but Floyd's a whole lot slicker and smarter so I wonder how long it will take Baldozier to figure Floyd out. I just think Carlos will be frustrated, maybe he'll come on late, I don't know.
There are a couple unknowns. One, Floyd could hurt his hands. Two, could Floyd be bothered by not having his trainer. I still heavily favor Floyd but I'm so tired of hearing how a lot of people think practically all Floyd fights will be Gatti 2, Baldo's a tougher opponent than Gatti.
As far as undercards go, yeah the main event is obviously the big deal, but a nice undercard is such a plus. Look at Barrera-Juarez 2 with Gonzalez-Vasquez and Guzman-Barrios. Beautiful night, think about if that undercard was on this card. I'm looking forward to Torres-Arnaoutis on the Pac/EM card. MAYBE Guerrero-Salido will be better than expected, but Williams-whoever the fuck he's fighting is gonna be crap.

I think a lot of people go totally over board on that one. It was close...but I just don't see it as a loss. I've seen a lot of fights that were close & could have gone either way...& did go the way that I thought they shouldn't have...but for some reason...that aint one of 'em.

No offense...but I think that you are...I think that everyone is.
But as I said before...it could just be that I am looking for more than what's in front of me.
I don't know.
I agree...Floyd is much more slick & talented than Judah...but when Baldo beat Judah...everyone screamed that it was a bad night & that Judah didn't take him seriously. I gotta call bullshit to that. Sure everyone has a bad night...& they always broadcast it after they get KO'd or lose...but Baldo shut down everything that Judah had to offer. EVERYTHING.
I truly don't beleive that that can happen against Floyd...but I do believe that fighting an actual Welter...one that hasn't lost in almost 20 fights...that's GOING to be a factor. No if's, and's, or buts.
Quote:

The hands do worry me. A lot.
I don't think that Roger being out of the game is going to matter. The main reason is that Floyd took a nut shot, a rabbit punch, a riot, & Roger's ejection in stride & fought on to beat Judah. If Floyd can keep focus through all that shit & win...I think that he can this Saturday night.
The Gatti factor is annoying...but Floyd utterly destroyed him & beat Gatti more convincingly than basically anyone has...including Oscar. It's hard for his fans to get by that. Personally...I think that Baldo cause hellacious problems if he comes out strong. Floyd will be back pedalling & working up a game plan for the first 2-3 rounds as he pretty much always does...that would be the best time to attack him.
Baldo does that...he's got a chance.

Agreed...I do like a good undercard...but again...I very rarely sit through them.
Williams is being fed a steady diet right now...he probably will for atleast 2-3 more fights. Theyr'e building his name, & what better way to do so than impressing the viewers with stoppages? Williams is still a bit green in many people's eyes...I would be one of those many.
I'd love to see him face off against Margarito.

Re: Just Another One of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Mayweather vs Baldomir
In the event that the Floyd fight might end early...I will also try to cover the Lyachovich Briggs fight that is on Showtime this weekend also.
It all just depends on how things come out.
That is ofcourse unless someone else would be game to cover the match up?
Oumer? Anyone?
Either way...if it happens it happens...if not...I'll be glad to cover both...but the Floyd fight is top bill for me.

I'm planning on ordering the Mayweather PPV, if I decide not to I'll do the Serguei one but I'm most likely getting the PPV.

Fair enough.
I'll just try to hammer out two DRBR's...but I'm gonna have a lot of guests over...& I'd hate to ignore 'em.

Re: Just Another One of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Mayweather vs Baldomir
I honestly think this is Mayweather's toughest fight so far, simply because of the size and style of Baldomir. I think this is going to be either Mayweather's best or worst performance. It win-win for boxing fans all around the globe, unless your a mayweather nut-hugger, becuase there is only 1 positive outcome, that he wins. If your either a neutral or a hater then you either get to see the epitomy of an underdog win, or a boxing masterclass. I love it. Baldomir has been brushed under the carpet by all experts, but beating gatti and judah is impressive, the guy exposed all of their flaws, you can't say the guy isn't a great fighter, or a champ, but Floyd by the looks of it has no flaws, and I can't see Carlos finding one. But at the end of the day it's a fight, and anything can happen.
:coolclick: wacko we all missed ya!

Being a fan of Mayweather...I can say that I really really want him to win this one...but I want him to go through hell to do so.

Agreed again. I personally believe that it says a lot for Baldo to win so defenitively over Gatti & Judah...even though I aint a fan of either one of them...but Gatti can crack & Judah is skilled...like em or not.

Re: Just Another One of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Mayweather vs Baldomir
Welcome back Wacko's DRBR!!! It has indeed been missed!
Now for the Miles kiss of death :lightingzapA:
Floyd by decision....
Though I am indeed torn...I would love Baldy to rough him up early and then we can all enjoy a real fight...
If Floyd can come through that then all props to him...
Interesting bout this one

Miles, I truly hope you do give him the kiss of death...that boy thinks he is the s**t. The fact that he is 99% certainly the s**t, only makes it worse. :p. Go the baldy Baldi!

Re: Just Another One of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Mayweather vs Baldomir
I voted Floyd by 12 hard fought rounds. I think the size difference will be hard to overcome for PBF at certain times. But just see him showing enough class and landing enough quick punches to do the job. Will NOT be an easy nights work tho, Baldomir deserves respect.
-
Re: Just Another One of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Mayweather vs Baldomir
I'd love to see CB boss him from the off and grind him down..
Then we'll see if PBF is as good as he says.
Huge difference in size and power that may cause Floyd big problems.
Upset anyone? ;)
Hmmm

Re: Just Another One of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Mayweather vs Baldomir
The thing with Baldo is for such a heavy Welter he has such little arms (probably directly related to his lack in power) and he is sooo... slowww... compared to Zab and Floyd but...
even though they say 'the hardest punch is the one you don't see coming' I can't convince myself that Floyd can dominate a big strong aggressive 147 pounder with a good chin.
Its a win win for the fans because even if PBF did dominate, Baldo is gunna make him work for it and watching Floyd in the pocket is beautiful.
I hate to do the old 'I've said it all along' but Mosley and Oscar are going to lick their lips after this one. ;D

Re: Just Another One of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Mayweather vs Baldomir
I think Baldo is slightly over rated and most of you guys HOPE he wins rather than truly believing it. What does he have that JLC did not? And he is not THAT much bigger than JLC,heck Roger Mayweather said that Castillo was actually bigger. Baldo has heart, grit and............? Power?Speed?blistering combos???throws loads of leather to keep the pressure on?? Until he caught Zab,Zab was winning easily and Gatti is a Cgrade fighter. I want to see PBF go through some adversity just to see how he handles it but this is not going to be that fight. PBF will win and I think he will shock by stopping Baldo.I really believe it,as long as his hands hold up,whch they should do.I don't remember when he last had [problems with them.

Totally Agree!!!!! CC
I just dont get how you can say Floyd is gonna have trouble with Baldo..It baffles me Especially seeing Floyd is an inch taller, 5in reach advantage and is 6 years younger and is the BEST FUKIN fighter in the world....
Determination????? Focus???? Is Baldomir running thru the Vegas desert at midnite??? IS he getting up at random times of the nite and training??? Probably not Baldo is gonna get spanked Gatti is 34 yrs old 5'7 and has a 70in reach and Floyd beat him to an inch of his life... :o
.. :o

Hatton found Collazo strong and Hatton was alot more solid at the weight than Floyd is, Baldomir is a stronger fighter than Collazo.
Floyd aint gonna enjoy this one little bit, hes throwing water around, retaliating to stupid arguments, hes worried hes gonna look a fool.
He already looked foolish by taking on Judah after a loss, let alone couldnt handle him as well as Baldomir and getting dropped in the process

Ok thats why a good majority of the people feel that Hatton got a gift...Floyd has already fought a few 147lbr's and looked a whole hell of a lot better, thats the excuse that Hatton used is that he wasnt used to the new weight and he didnt feel comfortable at it.
So try again Floyd hater..The truth is Floyd would whip Colazzo's ass anyday, anytime so if Hatton got outboxed by Colazzo then Floyd would have ripped Ricky a new asshole at 147 so there it is...
Dropped????????????? Oh you mean his glove supposedly grazing the canvas but didnt get counted... ::**
What Mayweather vs Judah fight were you watching..The one I saw was Floyd having trouble thru round 3 then adjusting and starting to dominate rounds 6-10 Judah was running and getting demoralized from the bodyshots let alone bleeding from the nose and mouth with a swollen face ready to get KO'D by round 11-12 before Judah Low Blowed him..SO again
Intelligent reasoning is one thing...
Hating is just plain foolish
-
Re: Just Another One of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Mayweather vs Baldomir
Floyd seems to have fallen off just a little bit from the Floyd he used to be. Looked like he was chasing a knockout of Zab early on. I would rather he go back to the old Floyd who layed back and boxed(and yes some called boring) rather then trying to be a power puncher.
Mayweather is a great boxer, he doesn't need knockouts to impress me. He should be more of a Hopkins type that shuts you down and then knocks you out if he can.

Agreed. I don't think Baldo's gonna be the one to beat Floyd...but if anyone is going to do it...I'd want it to be him.
The guy has defied all odds & come from nothing to be something...that's impressive. He's the most deserving one out there & for some reason...the gent just comes off as one hell of a nice chap.
What can I say...he's grown on me. I'd still rather see my guy win though.

Agreed...I think that Hatton got a gift.
Disagree about the weight class issue with Floyd. Floyd hasn't fought a legit 147'er. Judah had only fought at 147 for 5 or 6 fights if memory serves & Mitchell had only fought once at 147...again...if memory serves right.

Not sure about Floyd blazing Collazo either. The guy can box & he's tuff. That would be a good fight.

Agreed.

Agreed...yet again.
I think that my guy is a bit cocky...too brash & what not...qualities that I hate...but Floyd is one hell of a fighter & in the end...that's what counts.
I hate on James Toney severley...but I have no issues in admitting that he's an amazing tactical boxer...anyone who refuses to acknowledge the same about Floyd is either blind...or just stupid.

Agreed. Completely weak. I don't consider a man down until his ass or his back is on the mat.

I'd urge some of you people to watch Hatton vs Collazo round by round, and scoring them individually, It seems on that night Collazo won the 'fight' but Hatton won the rounds! Don't get me wrong, it was extremely close, but the decision was unanimous for a reason. My scorecard matched 2 of the 3 judges exactly, its not a hard fight to score. But Hatton was being handled, in either the 5th or 6th (can't quite remember) Hatton barely landed a glove. But we score on 10 point scoring system, and overall Hatton's strategy palyed out, other than an extremely careless 12th that nearly cost him the fight. This has relevance on this thread because of all the talk by Floyd saying Hatton doesn't want the fight. Hmmm.... The 2 guys touted to be the men to actually have a realistic chance of beating him (the other being margarito) and Floyd wants to fight neither of them. It makes me sad, I wish Floyd wasn't all about 'business' for 2 fights of his career and we actually got to see how good he was, if he really was an all time great. At this rate I'm going to remember him for his mouth first. :(

You know I loves ya...but let me ask you this (I know you love Hatton & all that): is beating Collazo & Kostya more to remember than beating Sosa, Chavez, Castillo, Gatti, Corrales, & Judah?
That's only to name a few.
Again...not trying to be a smart ass...but I hate for people to rip on Floyd & up Hatton.
