What a fight.
I have it 79-73 how you have the score like that I don't know.
-
Re: David Haye v Giancobbe Fragomeni European Title RBR - 10pm SS1
What a knockout, fuck off who doubted him, he was the finished article there.
-
Re: David Haye v Giancobbe Fragomeni European Title RBR - 10pm SS1
Round 9:
Haye works better, jabs and hooks, especially to the body. Left hook from Haye. Flurry from Fragomeni catches gloces. Haye does well with straight. Right hook from Haye causes massive trouble for Fragomeni. Hooks fly in, Fragomeni goes back and back, he's sitting on the ropes, right hook from Haye as Frag is on his arse on the bottom row.
It's stopped!
-
Re: David Haye v Giancobbe Fragomeni European Title RBR - 10pm SS1
Haye showed alot of heart there cos you could tell he was fucked, i think them body shots were chopping the Italian down, credit to the Italian bloke great heat and came to fight.

Re: David Haye v Giancobbe Fragomeni European Title RBR - 10pm SS1
Why the f*ck just give up !!!!
A 37 year old novice did that to Haye, what is Bell gonna do ?
Watt keeps saying it answered questions about Hayes stamina, too right its still sh*t, it wasnt a fast pace.
Im gutted, Fragomeni only had to hang around till the last and hed have pushed Haye over, >:mad

I don't think Haye was doing enough, he was getting outworked, and his punches weren't causing too much damage. I'm not sure that Fragomeni's corner did the right thing in pulling him out, it was tighter than that IMO.
David Haye did answer questions about his stamina, and his power came through further on in the fight, even though he looked to be pawing a bit with the jab. Haye bruised under the right eye and cut on the left, no doubt he was in a tough contest today.

Mate your very hard to please?? Just gave up? lmao, this guy was hard as nails he took everything that p4p puncher Haye had, man the Italian bloke was a game fighter who took a beating and some very heavy head and body shots.
-
Re: David Haye v Giancobbe Fragomeni European Title RBR - 10pm SS1
??? the only round fragomeni had was when he got cut. The rest of it he was in control, under pressure yes, but he was landing shots. O' neil Bell, look out, Haye is the finished article, he grew up in the ring there, still only 26 (Cruisers/Heavies mature later) he was brilliant.
-
Re: David Haye v Giancobbe Fragomeni European Title RBR - 10pm SS1
From what I'm reading. Bell would KTFO Haye if he got past the 3rd round.
-
Re: David Haye v Giancobbe Fragomeni European Title RBR - 10pm SS1
I wish haye would shut up about how hard it is to make weight, hes not ripped or cut, like Golota or Wladamir is at heavy, he still has fat to lose, hes just lazy in his training as his stamina issues show

David Haye: "This guy has been nagging in the back of my head for years. Back in the day I would have panicked but I know exactly what I'm doing. He hit me with a few shots that I felt a little, but I was never bothered. It was the first time in my life that I've been cut, but I felt like I was in the Rocky movies, looking out of one eye.
"The further this goes then the harder it will be for me to get down to the weight, that's why I want to get the O'Neil Bell fight on as soon as possible"
Frank Maloney also believes a bout v Bell will be on early on in 2007.
-
Re: David Haye v Giancobbe Fragomeni European Title RBR - 10pm SS1
Great heart from Haye! I thought he was done, especially after the cut... but that left hook to the body took everything out of Fragomeni.
Cracking fight!

Forget the Carl Thompson fight, it was a long time ago, welcome in the new era of the mature, robust(ish!) and well conditioned David Haye!

Mate i dont think he was magic, he fought a hard man not a good boxer with any decent power, just a tough man, it was what he needed and a great test, O Neil Bell has skills mate, in that 6/7 th round Haye was getting stalked and looked like he was blowing, like i have said in other posts after this full credit to both fighters great entertaining fight, Haye did very well to finish him.
And Ross?? Haye is ripped to fuck have you been smoking something?? the guy is 6FT 3?? He has to boil down to make cruiserweight, he aint lazy its genetics mate.

How well do you think David Haye will do at Heavyweight? If he is struggling to drag the weight off of him as he says, will O'Neil Bell be his last at Cruiser? With the heavies being the traditional area of boxing to make money, and not too many up and comers out there, it might be the right time for him. However, I don't think that Haye showed he was the finished article at all. He was getting caught far too often, and was finding it hard to get past Fragomeni's tight guard. He did however look pretty composed throughout, even when he was being shoved back on the ropes time and again.

So I'm an idiot for reading people's opinions of a fight and start a statement saying "From what I'm reading." And not making a blanket statement as if I'd seen the fight.
And then you call me a fucking idiot?

Just because his muscle shows through dont mean hes ripped
Ripped is the kind of definition a body builder has, not muscle mass but deffinition, Haye doesnt have that ripped look, of the recent big blokes Golota has good deffinition
you cant discount the Thompson fight because if Fragomeni was half the puncher Carl was then giacobbe would have stopped him

Another thing about Hayes power, he said him and Kelvin Davis have been having wars in sparring, well former light middle guillermo Jones and Oneil Bell have both knocked him out

Dude i think you should invite the Saddo regulars round for some sort of party, i'll organise the Strippers. ;D

Re: David Haye v Giancobbe Fragomeni European Title RBR - 10pm SS1
Although Haye looked to be struggling at certain times during the fight, he showed that:
(A) - He has great heart. A lesser fighter would have wilted under the pressure of an opponent constantly coming forward with success and eventually badly cutting you too.
(B) - He has stamina. The fact that he could buckle an extremely durable fighter, with one punch in the 9th round of a fast paced fight says it all.
(C) - He is entertaining as fwock! The Americans love fighters like Haye. 8)
The only question is if he has got enough to rip the title away from O'Neill Bell? Looking forward to that one. ;)

What you really need to realise is I live way out on the Welsh coast....so 5 hours by car from London, but y'all are welcome out here for a lash up in the count-reeeeeeee! Strippers will be asking for mileage y'know, the nearest one to my place I know of is nearly 60 miles south :p

Damn right son, this was an entertaining fight with no doubt, though I do think he was on the wane coming into round 9, and he dragged it from the base of the fuel tank some massive punches to finish off Fragomeni. Being cut would have been a massive shock to Haye, so far into his career, and he did get over it well, and show some character to do it. As for the previous question posed, I think Haye was in pretty good shape, and does very well to get down to the weight with as much muscle as he does. When you look at the 6'5" Hobson, who fights at the same weight, Haye carries a bundle more power, and some big arms, where Hobson looks quite thin.

Enzo seems like the natural fight for the both of the,m, but it seems that, naturally, they are both eyeing up shots at O'Neil Bell, but either way it's good to have two good British Cruisers who are forces on a world stage.

Re: David Haye v Giancobbe Fragomeni European Title RBR - 10pm SS1
hi folks
Just watched the fight!!
Wow!! Brutal and difficult for Haye but what a finish! He sure goes in for the kill doesnt he?!
The little Italian would always be awkward. Small and compact and constantly pushing forward.
Haye found the key and answered a lot of questions!!
Whoever said it wasnt a fast pace is insane. Try being stalked around the ring for every second of every round!
Tough fight!!

I'll go with that prediction Saddo. If Mark Hobson can put him on his arse then Haye will knock his block off.

*And the Welshman chimed in.....*
Personally I think it would be a 50/50 fight, with both of them having overcome tought short fighters recently, but Enzo with more experience, and slightly better at exposing Haye's less than watertight guard. Either way, I'd bet my right testicle that it wouldn't go the distance.

With all due respect to everyone on this site, yes that is what i'm trying to say. How can someone possibly pass judgement on a fight they can't even see themselves. Ok, fair enough, the screen isn't in front of their eyes, but your majesty, your not helping matters when people are trying to actually get a clue whats happening when you say, "By the sounds of it Haye would get KO'd in 3 rounds by O'neil Bell" what the hell is that. It's like looking at a woman wearing a baraclava and saying "Wow she has a pretty face"

It's like looking at a woman wearing a baraclava and saying "Wow she has a pretty face"
I didn't say he'd get "KO'd in three" I said that "From what i've read, Bell could ktfo Haye IF HE GOT PAST THE THIRD ROUND" That had to do with the stamina issues I was reading about.
And when I saw Haye on ESPN he shot his load too quickly and got tired.
Thats why at the beginning of this I asked if he had gotten any better because the last time I'd seen him on ESPN he was in trouble
And then when I heard he was already tired I asked "He didnt change then?"
And then I kept reading and from what I read of the fight, Haye has stamina issues past the third, and doesn't seem to have an all together good chin.
So from what I read, I said that "From what I've read, Bell would ktfo Haye if he got past the third round."
I didnt say "Bell would knock out Haye in 3"
I acknowledged that I hadn't seen the fight and was basing my opinion off of what I read.
Do you get what I am saying?

Ok I get it. I think you get me too bro. I've been on the sauce, i've had a tough week and i'm too highly strung, i'm sorry for being overly snappy.

Re: David Haye v Giancobbe Fragomeni European Title RBR - 10pm SS1
The shot to the stomach was the sickener, he stepped to one side as if it winded him, the it was game over.
Fragomeni's corner never pulled him! He stood looking at them for help and wouldn't raise his gloves to the ref during the count - thats when they stood on the apron. Right thing to do - they knew.
Was pleased to see Haye finish the fight after the cut when he could have gone into a shell and danced away from the fight.
Good fight all in all, Fragomeni has an iron neck.
-
Re: David Haye v Giancobbe Fragomeni European Title RBR - 10pm SS1
Great fight, really entertaining.
Haye proved he's got heart but imo he shouldn't have struggled like he did against what was a tough, game but unspectacular opponent.
I like Haye, he's exciting to watch but fighting O'Neill Bell is career suicide.
If/When it happens you can watch the fight right now.
Just put on O'Neil Bell vs Jean Marc Mormeck and watch it replacing in your mind Mormeck's head with Hayes.
There you go, you got to see Haye vs Bell before it's even been announced, let alone actually happened :P
