He beat Briggs because Briggs was a fatso who hadn't hit bottom yet. Even now Briggs is doing himself a disservice by being too big. You're trying to convince me this is a legit fight based on fighters who beat fighters--ALL THOSE GUYS AREN'T IN THE RING. Clifford Etienne has been a bum for years. Monte Barret won against a Dominick Guinn who USED to have promise.
Nikolai Valuev is the champion NOW. The time is NOW for a CHAMPION to be fighting top ten fighters, not wowing us with his size. Champions should only be fighting elites or other champions. Klitschko is fighting again in March; that could have easily been Valuev in the ring with him. Fighting McCline will prove NOTHING on the road to a Klitschko. Other than height they are absolutely nothing alike. Don King is afraid of losing his champion.
You will be hard pressed to find any elite fighters at HW in this era . these guys are babyshit green talent wise. today’s HW's wouldn’t know a combination punch from a hole in the ground . Nobody stays in the pocket and fire back, the majority of fighters in the HW division today are tentative and unsure of themselves. The old guys hanging around are the only thing that makes this division half way interesting.
Kind of reminds me of the movie business. , Hollywood is trying to replace good acting with special effects and bullshit. What they don’t realize is the storyline is still shit..
Valueve is just a special effect. no substance , no real skills and talent. Just super tall and awkward as hell, that doesn’t make up for talent and skills . If Valuve came along back in the early 90’s , he would have gotten the Mike White treatment. And if Mike White fought in today’s heavyweight era he would probably be undefeated and carrying around that Belt Valuev has. A crying shame this fucking division O0

On a serious note.
I want to take a moment to congradulate LYLE
on his recent graduation. He now moves on to the workforce trying to find a challenging opportunity in his field of expertice.
Underwater Basketweaving.
Or as us Engineering grads used to call it, a BA in Psychology....no seriously.
So what DO you say to a recent Psycology graduate????
"Id like a Big Mac,and a large order of fries....oh and a medium Coke, pimple puss."
(just so ya know for sure Lyle,im just joking. Congrats!)

I'll be impressed if he TKO's McCline in less than 10, it took Wlad that long, so let's see what happens.
The man (McCline) lost recently to Zuri Lawrence and has been taken the distance by Rob Calloway and Marcus Mcgee and you'll be impress with a victory over him? I consider Barrett to be a better fight than McCline. So I don't see how his competition has been improving.
If you can't see the difference in his oppositing of late compared to the fluff that he was fighting coming up...then your'e blinded by your own hate & constant need to be bitter. ;D
I'll be taking my :sadclick: now. Heh heh heh.

Re: Valuev he ain't no joke!
Actually agree with VD here. There are way better fighters then McCline so a win over him does nothing imo.

Zuri Lawrence -HE just fought Calvin Brock and Sultan Ibragimov, and fought Ray Austin to a draw!
Rob Calloway -former WAA light heavyweight Champion
IBA Cruiserweight Champion
IBC SuperCruiserweight Champion
WBF Inter-Continental Heavyweight Champion
NABC Heavyweight Champion
PABA Heavyweight Champion
WBF Heavyweight Champion
WBE Heavyweight Champion
He has a current record of 60 -7-1 !
He beat Bob Mirovic (who just took Sinal Samil Sam 12 rounds),fought Ruslan Chagaev to a draw, and has been in with Audley Harrison & Hasim Rahman
Marcus Magee - He.......well..ok, well he's a bum (16-11) lol
but hes been in with Grant,Greenburg and Sultan so he'
Had his a** whooped by some guys we know!
My point is that these guys Valuev has, and is about to fight aren't all bums!
Jameel is a credible opponent
He's the current NABA and WBO holder (Remember the WBO is the belt Klitschko held in 2002,defended against Corrie Sanders and lost to Lamont Brewster!. Don't forget Jameel just challenged for the IBF belt (a legitemate trinket) in 2004.
HEY! Valuev isn't beating his chest like KING KONG and saying he's ready to take on the world,or even Klitschko, yet. BUT Jameel McCline is a VERY credible opponent and will help to prove....
VALUEV AIN'T NO JOKE!!

Re: Valuev he ain't no joke!
sheeeeeeeeeeet mate.. they all bums... snuff queens ! couldn’t brake a sack a shit. the most padded record in the history of the HW division belongs to Valuve...and in that padded shit record he has had several gift dec thus he really has some losses in there . always fighting in that hometown gift decision bullshit .. Germany is the worst. Jesus.. Its like the whole country is New Jersey crocked as a mutherfucker ! . . shit.. lets get real !!! Cool click by the way, I don't mean to sound like an asshole.. I have had one to many screwdrivers ! ;)

I got nothing against the man personally I don't know him, but good for the sport?? , no way brother. at least IMO . he makes for an awkward boring watch in my opinion. Its ike Pro wrestling,, he is just to big, nobody can stay true to form and win. Everyone has to lunge and look ugly just to try and hit the guy, horrible to watch. O0

So far i'd say yes but probably the all-time best padded record is don steele's (his win/ko ratio is a joke). As for valuev he is definitely a joke. All he has is his own hugeness as an advantage. He has fought nothing but bums. And don't try to play the game where you take one of valuev's opponents and connect the dots to make them seem some what legit. Oh his opponent beat this guy who split with this guy and he got ktfo by an ok fighter there for hes not a total bum. Wtf is that!?

This is what often amuses me about your rantings & ravings...
There's not one sentence in any of my posts that says anything PERIOD about the fact that McCline is the better and more deserving opposition...is there.
Stop reaching...just read what I said.
Quite simply I have stated that he's still undefeated, he's proven that he's more than just a side show act, & that is an accomplishment. If you see his early fights & the way that he fought...you can see that he's improving. Not just anyone can go out there & throw combinations & make them stick. The big guy's doing just fine. Let's see if he can hang with someone like McCline & then maybe Maskaev or one of the other biggies.
Again, stop reaching...just read what I said & quit trying to pull rabbits outta your own ass. Oh...& have a :sadclick: right back. :-*

You must of been a break dancer in your youth Wack. Cuz you dance around questions pretty good. How the hell has he proven he's more than a sideshow? By getting gift wins (Donald, Ruiz)? By fighting smaller guys that put up no fight, what' s so ever (Beck, Etienne)? I consider Barrett (and so do a lot of people) to be a better fighter than McCline. So how's is it that his opposition has been improving? It hasn't. What former champ has he faced? The only difference is that Don King has put him in the publics view. That's it. He's a joke. I expected a lot more out of you Wack. Now that I think about it. No I didn't. Take your (what's becoming a daily thing) sc.

Everyone's smaller compared to him & the man has improved since he started fighting better fighters.
I never danced around any questions...I think I laid that out there pretty clearly for you...but again...as I said...your bitterness blinds you.

Again...as I said...since you obviously are lacking the understanding of what it means to improve & what it means to fight better opposition...you need to watch his early fights & then watch his fights against the fighters that he has fought recently. That will possibley help you understand how he & his competition has improved.
Former champions that he has faced? Vidoz, Beck, Etienne, Ruiz, Barrett, Donald, & soon enough McCline. Just because you either don't know or refuse to recognize the named fighters doesn't change the fact that they out matched another champ or contender to get their straps & won their championship straps.
Once agian...the fact remains that Valuev has proved to be more than just a side show act & he's also knocked a shitload of men out in the process. Also...once again...he's remained undefeated & he's been dropped & gotten up to pull out the win. I hate to keep repeating myself on this matter...but I'm trying to help you see past your hate.
Once again, anyone who has seen his early fights & the way that he fought knows that he's improved.

Ha, ha, ha. Talk about reaching. Except for Ruiz, what titles did these other guys hold? And please don't give me no bullshit like the USBA championship, WWE championship or BC Youth Cab Driver Championship. Quit embarrassing yourself trying to defend this guy. It's not worth it.

What's funny is that you use some fictional characters chump ass thug life lines to get your points across.
Okay tuff guy...your bitter ways & ridiculous points have made me have a change of heart. Please.
Unless your blind or just ignorant...Valuev has won fights & he's won them by knockout or decision...like him or not...that's a fact. The thing is...I aint even a fan of the guy...I'm just stating facts & saying that he deserves a chance just like anyone. The fact of the matter is...I have an opinion...& you have yours...you just don't know how to discuss like a grown up & get your points across without coming across as a complete hard ass that can only diss to try & win a discussion that's not really worth winning.
The only one embarrassing themselves is you, son. Now as far as the other titles that the men he beat had? IBA, IBF, WBA, & others I am sure...but I really don't have the time to research that...I just know that all those fighters held titles & he defeated them.
That old tired cliche' about Cab Driver Championships is what you should be embarrassed about. Have fun arguing & dancing with yourself over this one...the fact remains that he's undefeated & has beaten championship level fighters...I did not dancing my friend...just stated the facts...as I always do.
No wonder you don't like what I have to say..

You expected more from me. Oh boo-hoo. Thanks for the :sadclick: & I'm glad that I could disappoint you again. You can have your saddy in another 24 hours.
Dance, boy. Dance. What former champions has he faced? How has he improved? How has his competition improved? Dance.
Heh heh heh. ::**
"Some you win. Some you F****** lose" Dutch Schultz from the movie Hoodlum. Learn that line. It'll make your life easier, since you seem to lose a good amount of time.
I'll look it up for you. Except for Ruiz (which he didn't beat) none of the fighters you named held a WBC, WBA, IBF or even a crappy ass WBO title. It's sad you have to lower yourself to straight lying to try (I said try) and make a point. Your right, we are done here. Plus your needed else where. I think they just said "last call". Take it and than go sleep it off. Sober up and than get at me.

You didn't look hard enough.
Barrett vs Jackson = WBC Continental Americas Heavyweight Title
Beck vs Arias = WBA Fedelatin Heavyweight Title
Ruiz = NABF, WBA, & NABA.
Donald = WBA, NABO, & NABC.
Etienne vs Ward = IBA Americas Heavyweight Title
Now...I don't have time or feel like wasting my energy on you over this...but again...facts...points made. Again...the fighters won titles...& that was my point...as I said...I didn't go through their records...but they won titles & Valuev beat them.
As far as all the insults you always like to throw out...I've never understood why you like to get into pissing contests with everyone...but facts are facts...he did defeat them...they were title holders...had I have taken the time to go through the records & sort out the letters of the alphabets...then you'd have some ground to stand on...but I'm sober tonight...& your'e the one who's proving to have weaker legs.
Sit down son...this is getting rather childish. You can have the last word...because in the morning...it's all just wasted breath.

To discredit a title or a fighter just because they are either from or fight from another country...that shows short sightedness.

Wacko you point out some facts no doubt , but man this division is so fucking weak.... just a crying shame, and watching Valuve is just horrible . He looks amateurish and makes everyone he fight look amateurish.. its ridiculous, it really it is, its just a shame this is where the HW division stands. ! I hope McCline can win this fight and put an end to this kinda Carnival B.S. O0

Agreed.
Believe you me...I'm not saying that the guy is a world beater...but he is winning & he is trying.
I just say that he's improved & he's fighting better opposition. I don't see him as the savior to the division...but as I said a long time ago...he will bring attention to the sport & it won't be all bad.
If McCline were to win the fight...no big deal...it would be putting off the inevitable...because once he get's in with Wlad...he's done.

I think for being so outrageously tall , Valuev is fairly cooperative in regards to hitability , you can find him . I think someone physically strong like Peter would not allow the tie ups . Peters wild awkward punches should find there mark with good results I would think.? Valuve does not move a lot, and prefers the smaller ring, so he is there to behit. its gonna take a wild swinger with power to get up there and hit that chin.. hehe

You know...you may be right.
Peter would have to go to the body...but with Valuev's height...that'd be the knees for Peter. Heh heh heh.
See...I think just the opposite though...& I aint trying to be difficult or arguementative. I think that it'll take someone huge...like Wlad or maybe even McCline (or someone with a good jab...like Wlad) to beat Valuev.
I think that Wlad would humiliate him.
If you watch Valuev...he uses his body to more or less smother his opopnent...he doesn't really hug...or even tie up...he just leans on em.

Peter has that looping shot that I feel could hit the Valuev chin , Peter was able to hit Julius long who is 7"1 tall... pretty solid and flush. Peter have a way of extending his punches, and he has a decent reach ... I think he would tax Valuve something fierce maybe in 2 or 3 rounds. .
Let's go back in time and take a look at the long fight just as a referance :hypnodisk: :hypnotized:

So far i'd say yes but probably the all-time best padded record is don steele's (his win/ko ratio is a joke). As for valuev he is definitely a joke. All he has is his own hugeness as an advantage. He has fought nothing but bums. And don't try to play the game where you take one of valuev's opponents and connect the dots to make them seem some what legit. Oh his opponent beat this guy who split with this guy and he got ktfo by an ok fighter there for hes not a total bum. Wtf is that!?
Well how the hell else CAN you compare a guy??
real his F#CKIN tea leaves?
Ya look at the guy and who he fought and how he did.
really!! what the f#ck else is there?? Am i missing something here?
Obviously that's how you compare fighters, i wasn't saying not to look as his opponents. I meant for it to be interpreted as don't try and play up his competition because no one he's ever fought was really good. Ruiz is ruiz. Monte and Beck deserve title shots!? Someone used ray austin as a measuring stick for somebody else and i hate to break it to you but the only thing that stick measures is shit.

I agree completely !! It does say a LOT!!
Now (with appologies to punisher136)
Valuev beat Ruiz 116-113,114-114,116-114, a majority decision
Ruslan Chagaev JUST (i mean recently and barely) beat Ruiz
116-112,114-115,117-111 a split decision
So Valuev beat Ruiz, worse! than Chagaev did!!!
So if Valuev is a fraud, joke, oaf, piece of sh1t then Chagaev must be a bigger one. Keep in mind Chagaev is the current #1 WBA contender and holds the WBO Asia Pacific & Inter-Continental Champion & the WBA Inter-Continental Champion
Lets look back at the most recent Ruiz fights JUST before Valuev.
If you think all these guys are all Bums or crap fighters or whatever, please don't read on or respond,....your an idiot
James Toney beat ruiz 116-111,116-111 and 115-112 about the same as Valuev
Andrew Golota LOST 111-114,112-113,111-114. So we could "infer?"
that Valuev's better than Golota??
Golota's not all that, but he is a big strong Uke with a good jab and decent power. Kinda like a "dumbed down" Oleg Maskaev??
Fres Oquendo- I wont even bother Ruiz ko'd him in one so obviously Valuev would kill him
Hasim Rahman LOST to Ruiz UD 110-118,114-115,112-116 a bigger margin
than Valuev had over Ruiz! conclusion?? you tell me....
He's not a fraud,a freak (well ok he is a freak),a phony,an oaf (well ya i guess he's kinda an oaf..) well I'll say this much!!
VALUEV AIN"T NO JOKE!!! :banghead:

Re: Valuev he ain't no joke!
Score cards are just other peoples opinions of who won what round. Some people give an edge to very good technical fighters and others give boxers rounds where they swung wildly and barely connected with anything. The subject says that valuev isn't a joke. Let's take out the questionable competition factor.
The man is over 7 feet tall. His best asset isn't his speed, strength, agility, or even technique, it is his size. Most heavyweights straight right would be considered a low blow. He's been affected by guys that aren't power punchers. If someone didn't have to throw mike tyson's punch-out style star punches at him just to connect, he would be beat easily. After boxing he will be studied thoroughly and, after much debate, be labeled as the missing link. The frequency of his voice will later be dubbed as the lowest pitch audible to the human ear. He will undoubtedly be remembered as a historically significant figure, but not in boxing.

He Speaks??? THE MONSTER SPEAKS!!
He Does quite a few things pretty good.
Good punch output.
Good power
Good Chin (so far)
Great reach which he doesnt use very effectively
and he has shown a decent straight (ish) right hand
doesnt get gassed.
and from a entertainment perspective he's not afraid to stand and mix it up inside. If you get inside , he doesnt care!
You can't say "well if you didnt have to this or that against him he'd be no good" cuz...well cuz you do!
It's kinda like saying that if wlad wasnt tall and strong and fast and sharp and technical and conditioned he'd be a sh1tty fighter and anyone could beat him!!
What if.....he gets a 49-0 record????? and maybe beats say....Briggs. to gain a second belt?? A legit Champion??
What then?????? Historical significance then??? with Don KINK as his promoter? THINK about that!!!
