i had it 6-3 i think for oscar but he gave away last 3 rounds when he had the fight in the bag wasnt a robbery it was oscars fault for not making sure of the fight and leaving it in the hands of the judges which you cant do in boxing

It all just factors into how you look at the opponents & the leaps that Floyd has made.
Baldomir is a much better fighter than Mayorga & Floyd has impressed me more than Oscar because he has moved up & had better performances...& that's hard for me to say...because I'm an Oscar fan first.
agreed but if i remember right wasnt oscar the underdog against mayorga ?? mayweather was expected to easily blow away baldo with comfortable 12 round decision but on other hand i remember alot of people saying mayorga would be too much for oscar and ect so i consider that a better win because he destroyed mayorga easily that makes it more impressive
Not sure who had Oscar as an underdog...but they were either drunk or high on crack. ;D
No way would I ever consider it a great win. Mayora is not a boxer...nor is he a worthy opponent for Oscar. Mayorga was there to be destroyed.
Again...it's all in an opinion though.

If he can handle the weight then it'll play out somewhat like Mayweather Castillo II...but I don't think that he can handle the weight of 154lbs.
Also...boxing & moving does not equate to running.
This will be a good fight.

Re: Oscar's Face Will Be Torn Up; Floyd Won't Have a Mark. Guaranteed.
I think the fight will be anti-climactic, Floyd will move around the ring and throw one shot at a time and Oscar will never be able to catch up. It won't be exciting to many but its still a good win no matter how he does it.
Floyd shouldn't even come in at 154, speed is the key, he shouldn't come in at over 150.

i remember hearing that oscar was underdog on quite few sites but me personally i thought oscar would win comfortably but i didnt think he would destroy him like that 8)

If Oscar cant beat Floyd than who will? i really think him and mosley have the best chance. Im not being funny but would Floyd even think about going to middleweight. we know he wont retire.

If it was that simple Floyd would have been beaten by now.
Oscar can't throw if he's not stationary. If he's moving his feet he can't throw.
To beat Floyd you need to do what Judah did and try to time Floyd coming in.

Re: Oscar's Face Will Be Torn Up; Floyd Won't Have a Mark. Guaranteed.
I think Oscar will do a 'Barrera' - like against Naz.
He'll get Floyd coming forward and reverse the style somewhat and he'll also bomb Floyd's arms hard, he'll hit him up on every bit of target possible - Floyd will either get sucked into a slugfest or just defend defend defend and lose rounds.
I can't see Floyd hurting Oscar at all - and although Floyd has fought some big shows lately, he won't be prepared for the stage this fight will offer him and may affect his mindset somewhat negatively, especially if its evens or perhaps Floyd the underdog...
Oscar is bigger, faster and can bang far more that Baldomir - and has a far higher pedigree.
Yes his disadvantages are age - but he is still quite sprightly and is hardly battle worn, having fought only something like 22 rounds in nearly 3 years...

Re: Oscar's Face Will Be Torn Up; Floyd Won't Have a Mark. Guaranteed.
Oscar will be dangerous at the begininning but I just don't see how he will maintain stamina, his lack of activity will catch up to him at some point. Also, he won't have faced someone with Floyd's speed before and although he is no slouch himself, he isn't as fast as he once was. I don't use the Mayorga fight for a measuring stick at all.And he was getting hit by Mayorga, people forget that! I still think the size of the ring will be a factor,if Oscr could get him into a smaller ring,it would be of great advantage to him but if it's a bigger one,I don't see how he'll win. Also,is that fight DEFINITELY at 154 or a catch weight of like I don't know,150>?
And Wack, what makes Baldo a better fighter than Mayorga? Just asking.

Because he actually boxes instead of brawls.
Watch Mayorga's fights against Trinidad, Spinks, & Oscar.
He stood there & traded with Tito like a retard, he looked like a fool against Spinks when all he had to do was box, & he did basically the same with Oscar.
When power doesn't work for him he just goes stupid. All he has to do is box...but he doesn't he looks for the knockout & leaves himself wide open...also...he apprently can't take power punches.
Baldomir is the opposite...he can take power & he can box...he's got more than just one game plan.

Re: Oscar's Face Will Be Torn Up; Floyd Won't Have a Mark. Guaranteed.
Thing is, people are expecting Oscar to still have the reflexes and timing to catch Floyd coming in.
But if he couldn't catch the slower Sturm, or even the medium speed Mayorga coming in with uppercuts and straight(not looping) shots. I don't see what chance he has of timing Floyd.
Thats the way to beat Floyd. But does Oscar still have the reflexes to do something like that?

Good points, however I don't think it will mirror the Castillo rematch, only because Oscar is not as relentless as Castillo. He likes to fight in the center of the ring. I agree with an earlier poster in that this will not be a close fight and Oscar is gonna look lost in there. Also, Oscar has never come close to stopping a fighter as skilled as Floyd (Whitaker and Mosley being the closest) and lastly the jump in weight will mean absolutely nothing to Floyd, as he's smart enough to know not to go to a division where he would look foolish. I just don't think alot of people understand how important it is to Floyd to retire undefeated. He's not gonna let Oscar get in the way of that.

Re: Oscar's Face Will Be Torn Up; Floyd Won't Have a Mark. Guaranteed.
In my opinion, if floyd would indeed fight toe to toe with oscar, I won't be surprised to see a mark in floyds face and much more than you'll ever expect. Ist off, eventhough oscar has become slower these days, he is still no baldomir, he is sharper, powerful, faster than baldo. 2ndly, floyd will be coming off at the highest weight of his career, we wouldn't exactly know the effect of it in his conditioning, power and speed, if his speed diminshed enough for oscar to see his crafty punches and movements, he will surely have great problems. Finally, Oscar has fought possibly all the toughest opponent that is available in his way up in every weight division he can possibly reach. So oscar is clearly much much used to very very big fights and his very vast experience will help him stabilize his composure during heated fight rounds. On the othehand, if mayweather can bring his natural speed in the ring and is really faster than oscar might realize and forget the "toe to toe idea" Oscar will be having a very long night chasing the chicken. Any idea of oscar being knocked down has a probability of 5% only. so you see that is next to impossible, unless he would be hit by another perfect liver shot. ;D

Oh! by the way Gatti doesn't count... Come on keep it real his face looks beat up when he gets up in the morning...
Something that just makes me wonder is NONE of you have ever seen PBF fight at 154 you guys don't even know how the weight is gonna carry over.... Now this is me putting ODLH aside... I'm not talking about him I'm talkinf about PBF and the move up in weight 147 to 154 is a HUGE difference much respect to PBF for doing so but you guys are talking like 154 is PBFs div. when he has never fought there....
you got that right ~ PBF best weight is 135.

I think his best weight was 140. He was fast and still had the defense and a little more power. I think he was perfect for 140 the same way Shane Mosley would have been.

Re: Oscar's Face Will Be Torn Up; Floyd Won't Have a Mark. Guaranteed.
I think the real question here is Floyds ego.
If he runs,oh sorry.....sticks and moves......and hides from heavy exchanges.........oh sorry again.....uh...remains..uh...."elusive?"
Then i think he's too fast quick agile etc for Oscar to catch and hurt.
BUT.. If the crowd gets on him. maybe even booing.Maybe some of the comments from Larry M etc. will eat at him and he'll stand and try and slug with the bigger Oscar and maybe get caught and hurt. I see that as Oscars only chance. I pick PBF by decision in a fight with some flurries where PBF slips away or holds.

Re: Oscar's Face Will Be Torn Up; Floyd Won't Have a Mark. Guaranteed.
It's quite simple. If Floyd dances and keeps his distance...using his speed...he will most likely outpoint and win. If he is STUPID enough to try and actually exchange...he will lose...period. As i have said before...Floyd has been stunned by much less powerful fighters than Oscar...and Oscar is an accurate and strong puncher even at this stage of his career. If Floyd gets cute...he will get rocked. But Floyd isn't stupid. He will most likely stay away from any serious action. I actually think he is in a lose, lose situation. If he runs and outpoints Oscar...people will get on him...especially with the non sense he has said about actually going to war with Oscar. If he actually gets baited into fighting toe to toe with Oscar...he will get hurt.
