People forget that Hatton had very little problem hitting Collazo, it was the counter punching that gave him so much trouble... Don't be surprised if he ends up counting lightbulbs.
Lol while i think it will be a closer fight (maybe i am blinded by my faith in hatton ;D) and possibly would consider having a flutter on Collazo, i had to laugh at your conclusion of the fight. I'd click you for that but i already have done today. Maybe tomorrow ;)

Yea. Hatton fans all seem to hope Collazo will win this one.. But at the same time I don't think anyoen can deny Hatton is not well suited to welterweight and didn't have the punch or workrate he had shown previously when he fought Collazo. Mosley is, that's all.. I think that he really has shaken off some cobwebs since losing to Wright again and returning to welter, but I always thought it was slightly dumb of him to then move up to 154 again for Vargas. I seem to remember he didn't weigh in much over 150 though, so Im just expecting him to look as good as he did against Vargas, which wasn't great, but it'll be enough I think. It's not as if Collazo has been tested like this before, Mosley will be hitting him a lot harder than Hatton was, and Collazo won't be able to put a dent on him Shane has a great chin, he's taken big punches at 154 and stood up to them fine. I think Collazo's cuteness, or defence is slightly overrated, the only thing that stopped Hatton from constantly hitting him was that Collazo could hurt him back with counter shots. If he can't budge Mosley on the inside, I see him crumbling somewhere along the line.
Re: Saturday Night - Collazo-V-Mosley... Who wins?
I pick Mosley by late KO. No arguments to support... just a hunch.

Mosley seems rejuvenated and Collazo knows he's getting better and better. IMO this is a pick-em fight posing many questions that beg to be answered...
Is Mosley really back to his old ways... Is he still fast, explosive and confident?
Is Collazo really the best kept secret of the 147'ers... Can he exhibit and utilise the tough & slick qualities he showed against Hatton?
What does this fight do for boxing @ 147... Indeed what does it do for the winner and loosers career respectively?
Also, what reverberating effect could this fights outcome have on the reputation of past opponents?
At this point, more importantly, who do you think will win this intriguing match-up?
Discuss ;)
I forgot/didn't think this was on Saturday, good news indeed. It's not a hard one to pick though, and HARDLy a pick em fight you guys. "Sugar" Shane Mosley by UD, fo sure. He'll have some difficulty with Collazo, possibly lose up to 4 rounds, but not anymore than that. Remember this is Shane Mosley fighting Collazo NOT Ricky Hatton fighting Collazo. ;) Big difference.
Re: Saturday Night - Collazo-V-Mosley... Who wins?
Im going with a Collazo decision victory. Mosley looked good against Vargas but Vargas offered nothing in that last fight. All the fight was left in the dressing room.
Collazo meanwhile is a much fleeter fighter than Vargas and will throw punches in bunches. Collazo is younger and I sense pretty hungry. He will want to make his impact and there is no way Mosley is going to last forever.
This may well be the changing of the guard....

CC Miles,I'm sticking my neck out and going with Luis too. Although he has only had half the time Shane has had to prepare for the fight,I just think people were overhyping Shane for his wins over Vargas,a shot Vargas. Luis fast hands, his versatility and movement will give Shane problems. The only problem Colazo will have is his lack of power, which could cost him as Shane may realise he can walk through him! Still,I think Collazo, points.

Because Shane even at this stage has worlds more talent than Collazo, who is a good fighter in his own right. I dunno if you have seen much of Collazo outside of his robbery loss to British Troll, but he had a very close fight with Jose Antonio Rivera, who is NOT in Mosley's class. Collazo's biggest wins were against Rivera, and washed up Miguel angel Gonzalez. Collazo will give Shane trouble, and he has a chance at pulling the upset, but I think the talent and speed differential will be just too much for him to overcome. I know the Vargas win wasn't too meaningful, but Shane is STILL an elite fighter.

CC, back fella
The thing is, I think Hatton beat Collazo...just. But the thing is that neither Hatton nor Collazo have come out with any real respect for that fight. I really think Collazo may turn out to be better than people give him credit for. He has had a year and a warm in which to hone his skills for a further step up and it might just be that a slightly over the hill Mosley is the man to make that transition against. Mosley will need stamina and an output to beat Collazo, and I can just see Collazo outworking Mosley down the stretch...
Im into this fight...

I agree that Shane is an elite fighter but those spells at the top are not indefinate and Collazo is young and improving. This makes it a more competitive fight than had it been against Mosley in his 20's. As you admit, Collazo does have a chance. You just think its less chance than what I give him, and thats the fun of debating boxing.
:coolclick:, Hulk...a bit of boxing banter is always good! :)

CC back to you Miles. May the best man win.

THe thing is, while people may overrate MOsley for the Vargas wins, people are doing the same thing for Collazo and his fight with Hatton. Granted he showed some good skills and speed in that fight, but Hatton isn't a welterweight.. If people don't expect Mosley to be much stronger, faster, and able to take a much better shot than Hatton at welter.. I think they are in for a rude awakening. I also think your comment I bolded is dead on, and for that reason among others Mosley will take this.

Yeah sounds about right to me
I usually agree with Miles so I dont wana go against him and El gamo in this 1 but i'm guna have to cuz Shane is a level above Colazzo IMO. As you say who has Collazzo beat ? He lost to a lightwelter moving up . Shane is a big hitting light middle moving down .
Collazzo is quick and slippery yeah and I reckon he will dig deep cuz we saw his heart against Hatton . Mosley will need his stamina cuz down the stretch this is guna be tough and Collazzo may want it more . If Shane lets his work flow like in his last fight then this fight will end explosively , possibly the K.O of the year . More likely though is Collazzo wont allow Shane to work and make is scrapy . Mosley will start to accept clinches and it becomes a close fight . However Collazzo did say he wasnt preparing for Shanes power so I think he'll be in for a surprise . After 12 competative rounds Shanes speed of hand and extra class clinches it for his on the cards .Collazzo misses out again .
Re: Saturday Night - Collazo-V-Mosley... Who wins?
I'm very interested to see what Mosley brings to the table. To me, the wins over Vargas proved very little, because Vargas is a corpse.
Before those two fights, Mosley had a couple unimpressive decisions, and before that, six fights in a row where he didn't win (assuming you think DLH deserved to win their second fight).
The two losses to Forrest, the NC against Marquez, the controversial fight with DLH, followed by two losses to Winky.
If he doesn't look impressive against Collazo, it'll be interesting to see if people think he deserves a shot at Floyd, although I would still pay to see it.
I think Mosley beats Collazo by decision, but I think there's a good chance he doesn't look impressive.
Re: Saturday Night - Collazo-V-Mosley... Who wins?
Does anyone know where to get alive stream for this fight? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Re: Saturday Night - Collazo-V-Mosley... Who wins?
Dont think its possible, unless you got a webcam...its on HBO. Letting someone stream it wouldnt be wise for a premium channel. If I am wrong someone plz tell me so I can cancel HBO

Well,I think we find out tonight whether Luis is over rated or not, personally,I don't think he is,after having seen more of his fights,I'm actually pretty impressed. Hatton is not a WW but Rivera was,a very strong WW and he beat the shat out of Collazo at the beginning of their fight but Collazo showed heart and came back strong. I disrefard the Vargas wins, when did Shane look good before that? I don't know man,I see where you are coming from, and you make valid points but I have a sneaky feeling Collazo will prove more than a handful for Shane.
Re: Saturday Night - Collazo-V-Mosley... Who wins?
This is gonna be a boxing clinic, two great fighters, one southpaw one orthodox. Collazo's chin will be tested tonight, but I think Shane is gonna be too strong.Late round K.O. for Shane...9th round.

Exactly. And Shane is a better, stronger welterweight who will be able to hit him with alot more, in my opinion. Its definetly possible for Mosley to be affected by moving back down to 147, but assming he handles it without problems Im confident picking him. He didnt look great before I will admit, but I think he looked much better against Vargas than he did in his couple tune ups after losing the rematch to Winky. He looks to have gotten some of his old speed and pop back, and was putting punches together alot better and pulling the trigger without hesitation against Vargas compared to say when he fought Jose Luis Cruz.. If you disregard Vargas you really have to disregard him too which is fine, but the point is Mosley looked alot better against Vargas than Cruz, who was a useless fighter as slow as molasses just like Vargas in the rematch, which Im not denying. Collazo is definetly a good opponent for him to prove that he has still got it, which I believe he does.
