Again, IWO, Green is an untested hype machine & he will be checked...truthfully...they both are...but Miranda continues to surprise me...he shined against Eastman & he took everything that Abraham offered.

Urkal is just another stepping stone for Mr. Cotto's rise to **FAT PAYDAYS**, no disrespect to any boxer but that goes toe to toe with Miguel. I just got back from Puerto Rico, had the opportunity to see Miguel at his training camp and I will honestly tell you the 7/8 pounds he's put on will be a plus to his punching power!! He is all about focusing on whats ahead of him now (Urkal), he's on a mission to be the Best of The Best....I believe his true challenge is not Urkal, Zab Judah, Pretty Boy, De la Hoya Margarito or Mosley but Mr. Paul Williams. My prediction for this Cotto/Urkal is Cotto KO 4th....

I pick Green to win, and I'll deal with consequences if he loses. But at 162 he looked like a monster to me. I think people underestimate him against McCrary. But he got up and won by ko didn't he? So what if Miranda knocks him down, Green has shown heart to get up and stop his foe, think about that too :)

CC, basically what I think.. Getting off the mat to win shows grit for sure, in general, but against a fighter like McRary you can't pretend that his getting off the mat is more indicative of his calibre than the fact he was out on his feet and so badly hurt against a guy so limited.

That's what Gerald McClellan did vs Julian Jackson he boxed beautifully until he got hit below the belt....then he went ape shit and KO'd poor Julian....badly.
I just think Allan can stick and move and then drop some big shots.....but make no mistake about it he's going to have to stay away from that right cross of Edison Miranda all fight long!!!!

Sure he's in focus mode when Pantera is a thousand miles away from him. But when he is looking at Miranda across the ring and sees that fist crush his skull, let's see how well he stays focused than. You're saying that like it's completely out of the question. Miranda has been hurt and he's been hurt by a guy with a lot less power then that of Green. It's not like Miranda is a proven fighter. I agree that Miranda wins by midround KO but still it's not out of the question that Green wins.

Oh yeah, I definitely believe that Green has a shot, I'm halfway kidding when I talk. But I really do think that Edison is underrated as a boxer. The guy has fought pretty good boxers and held his own, Abraham is an EXCELLENT boxer and Miranda was close to pulling off the upset. People act like Miranda sucks as a boxer, and while he might not be polished, Edison really does use his jab well and his footwork is good. Green's getting knocked out.

Boxer is an overused term imo. A guy can jab and circle all day and be called a "boxer." There are way to many one dimensional fighters out there being praised as "pure boxers." Very diluted term now imo. When people say so and so will outbox whoever, well...what does that even mean? It seems if you have a decent jab and some foot movement you're a boxer. Even with a bad defense, chin, power ect...
Miranda gets by by not being a "pure boxer", he has a pretty tight defense on the outside and gets inside really well. Similar to Lacy really. He has lapses in transition and he can be countered but he still imposes his fight on his opponent win or lose. So I wouldn't call him a bad boxer... I think you're spot on in that last post CC 136.

CC, what I've been trying to say for a while now. Actually made a thread before about how the term "one dimensional" only applies to guy's who come forward, a "boxer" never gets called one dimensional even if he only has one dimension.
