Re: What Fight Pitted the Two Hardest Punchers Together?
Valero - Prescott would have been worth a mention if it had happened.
Re: What Fight Pitted the Two Hardest Punchers Together?
At domestic level.(British)
Haye-McCarnelli
Benn-McClellan

At world level would say Foreman Vs Fraizer.:)
Dont know why you mentioned Ali as he was not a big hitter.:(
Re: What Fight Pitted the Two Hardest Punchers Together?
I voted Hagler-Hearns. Only old granite chin Duran lasted the distance with Hagler as champion up to that point (after the stupid draw with Antefurmo Hagler didn't like judges score cards) and Hearns wiped him out. So leading up to this point it looked like a surefire win for Hearns. Boy was I wrong in 1985.

That works. Zarate - Wilfredo Gomez was another.
Yep, that's the one i was thinking of. Zarate's career KO% was 90% and Gomez 87%

Mugabi was shot before this fight. his peak was up to the hagler fight. so 38 ko's from 38 wins was irrelevant coming into this bout.

Have to distinguish between actual punch for punch bangers...threats who could drop you going backwards,etc... and some who just run up the numbers in friendly confines against straw houses. On pure numbers alone how about a George Foreman vs.Alex Stewart.Stewart was at 100% ko ratio,Foreman had just 4,5 total that went distance, 90 % ?Alex rendered Foreman almost unregonizable... as if he had tied a sack full of rats over his head. With a hard stiff jab leading the way :fight:.
