Didn't say Lacy was better than Kessler. Stylistically, I don't think Kessler would do as well as Lacy. Calzaghe is much too fast for Kessler and Kessler doesn't have as much power as Lacy--and one thing in Lacy's favor, he was awesome at mixing up his punches and finishing, all of which had to have been somewhere in Calzaghe's mind--Kessler might be more talented, but less of a threat than Lacy, thereby giving Calzaghe even more confidence to dismantle him.

More than anything, I was refuting the assertion that Kessler has more power than Lacy and that Lacy only had a bodybuilder's physique.

Kessler already has Calzaghe beat. Joe is scared. It's that simple. Kessler has made several comments about fighting Calzaghe. I have yet to hear Calzaghe even mention fighting Kessler. He doesn't seem to even want to mention his name. Calzaghe turned down 3.4 million to fight Kessler. Instead he decides to fight TV bum Peter Manfredo. I seriously doubt he's making more than 3.4 million for it. People can blame Warren if they want. But Calzaghe has never stated he has a problem with Warren choices.

The reason Calzaghe does'nt mention Kessler is because the fight can be made easy enough he mentions Taylor and hopkins all the time because they probably won't happen so he's safe.The best chance he got to fight a really tough fight against a good champ was Glenncoffe Johnson and he pulled out with a bad back.Then he could have fought winner of Woods vs Johnson it was the fight he wanted to be a two weight champ Woods wins Calzaghe see's a fight with Woods would be a real tough fight and hides behind the Promoters not getting on thing the guy just wants to remain unbeaten fighting bums padding his defences out and forget the Lacy fight that were'nt all that it did'nt have me fooled.Joe's a fool to himself when he retires he won't have any career defining fights to look back on apart from Lacy.

Exactly my words! Maybe im a bit onesided but my impression of Cal is that he's a fucking chicken! Kessler on the other hand is very willing to fight Cal, even in Cal's own backyard, so for me he's surely the greatest at the moment! :)

I'd have to say that "Yeah...you might be wrong."

Andrade got around Kess's jab for 12 rounds. He did some work on Kess...the best done yet, IWO.

Calzaghe is a far superior fighter...but then again...Kessler does have a hell of a reach. Joe's just a bit more unorthodox than Kess & I think that his movement & the lack of Kess's will benefit Joe more down the stretch.

Again...I could be wrong...but I guess we'll all just either have to speculate...or wait & see...or never see & keep on speculatin'.

It is indeed all just speculation as you finally fessed up. Calzaghe is a league beyond anything Kessler has ever faced before. We can say Mundine but Mundine wasnt as good as he is now. Kessler beat an early version shall we say. Andrade though unbeaten before Kessler didnt have a record built upon stellar opposition and was hardly an all round skilled boxer. Beyer was a crap champion.

This is a fight I want to see happen above all others. Kessler has it in him to make it awkward for Joe and to steal some rounds. But when it comes down to it, Calzaghe edges it. He has the ability to brawl and box and has the better all round game IMO. When pushed Calzaghe can and will respond. I would like to see Kessler taken into the deep end. Maybe he would respond well, but I would expect Calzaghe to use his savvy and all round skills to take it away from Kessler...

Kessler would need an element of luck to beat a Calzaghe at his best. I hope Manfredo is blown out quick and a new fight is set up quickly. Both Kessler and Calzaghe have it in their schedules. Hopkins is busy. Taylor will fight Spinks. There is now the demand for Calzaghe: Kessler. It NEEDS to happen!

Andrade isnt in the same league as Calzaghe....I cannot imagine a fight with Kessler being about Calzaghe being dominated by a jab and not finding a way inside. If Andrade is going to land nigh on a hundred punches then you can expect a little bit more from Calzaghe. Calzaghe at least up until Bika has better footwork than Kessler, has faster hands and has the greater all round game. Kessler is extremely solid and undoubtably a risk. Calzaghe is 35 and time waits for nobody and what with those brittle hands!! :-\ If Calzaghe has maintained his conditioning since the Lacy fight then a fight against Kessler within the next year certainly swings it to Calzaghe for me.

Ive no idea about numbers on the accuracy of power punches thrown. Kessler likes to control the pace, thats not easy against a man who is happy to throw a 1000 punches plus per fight!! Sometimes a little accuracy can be swatted aside for sheer accumulation...

Hmm, but those punches thrown by Cal seems so worthless to me.... ::** The main effect of those punches is to scare the opponent and then panic them. :) hehe, hard to explain, but i see much more substance in Kess' punches! YEAH! :D

Kessler may be brave but the best he has faced is Markus Beyer!! Im sure Calzaghe would have been "Brave" too!

Im not going to make excuses about Calzaghe. A fight with Kessler needs to be next. If it doesnt happen, then yes, its another nail into the coffin of any legacy that should have had more substance. The fight may yet be made. As ive said, there are no other big fights on the cards for Calzaghe....another bum wont be acceptable...

No way Beyer was/is better than Andrade. Andrade would have runned him down... I too think that Beyer is crap. At least his performance against Kessler.

And yes, i agree. Cal vs. Kess is the only reason thing to do. And Cal needs to fight Kessler now or else Kess will outrun Cal within a year. :)

Well I must admit I have boxed many moons ago. Everyone knows that a slugger always has a chance to win superior boxing skills and a great defense will usually win. I have to go with Joe on this one, maybe a even by KO if he actually sits down on a few punches in the later rounds plus it is hard to beat ring savvy which is exactly what Joe possesses.
