Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Freitas vs Diaz!
Typical...yoitsdan reckons that every fight he gets onthe streaming site is the blooody fight of th year...and me sitting on me arse and awaiting you to show some love leaves me thinking that Freitas will show somehing that might just be successs.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Freitas vs Diaz!

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Freitas vs Diaz!
I didn't think he would. Although he picked the best in the division to go against. Diaz is a special fighter. Nobody better at that weight.
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Freitas vs Diaz!
Juan Diaz impressed me with his chin and he was like his nickname a baby bull. He constantly came forward and Popo couldnt hurt him, tho Freitas wore out it seems.Diaz rocked him pretty good tho, I liked when he got mad after the uppercut, and rushed him. He was impressive. :)

Could well be, Casamayor is tough and that fight would be another barnburner. HBO sound keen to make Diaz v Pacquiao.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Freitas vs Diaz!
Talk of Diaz v Pacquiao!!!!! I'd sell my grandmother to see it!

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Freitas vs Diaz!
lol this interview is gonna get dirty very quick ;D

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Freitas vs Diaz!
Freitas didnt seem like he was in good condition, and his punches dont have the same power as he has before.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Freitas vs Diaz!
Freitas will probably retire now. If he doesn't then from now on he'll be known as a fighter who can't take it when it gets too hot.
What surprised me a little was that Diaz landed at such a large percentage for such a busy puncher. There can be no doubt that he's ready for primetime now.

I feel this had much more to do with Diaz being great than Freitas fading. Diaz was hungry.

Hey...dont you be claiming to be the forum alcohoic...i have police convictions giving my claims more value.....however.... i was expecting a Diaz victory, and despite his win part of me wants to see him r/l and to properly see him destroy a world contender. Granted you won't see me on the bill, but monsieir Diaz will end up fighting a big fight like the fans want him too.
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Freitas vs Diaz!
That interview was alright.
The Roy Jones-James Toney one is still better... "Get yo track shoes on!!"
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Freitas vs Diaz!
Take nothing away from Diaz , it just Popo had more power at the lower weights. He definately was getting worked by Diaz's jab all night which was powerful for a jab.Diaz Vs. Casamayor would be great.

I turn up as the forum alcoholic and too right Diaz was far too good for his opponent and the opposition to each of those was too much for thier cameras after it seemed Utd were about to celebrate the title!!!

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Freitas vs Diaz!
CC Wacko. Knew this would be a burner. I knew it Diaz is the fucken man.
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Freitas vs Diaz!
Frietas should have taken his beating like a man. It was an embarrasment to see him paraded around like he won. But its his legacy that he ruined.
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Freitas vs Diaz!
I'm quite surprised that Freitas didn't turn up with some proper bolox for this fight, but i believe that he is beyoind what he is showing here in this fight and his legend is cemented, even if he did drop the fight as he did.

I don’t think so.. Freitas was getting hurt. Sure you would like to see more fire in him the ability to overcome, however its understandable that at 31 years old you might era on the side of caution when you body and mind start getting rattled. . a wife and a baby can changes things in regards to the risk you willing to take. Freitas did what he could and was not having success against Diaz. He was hurt of several occasions in the 5th and then there at the end. Was a good fight he should not be shamed.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Freitas vs Diaz!
Alright so I just got it home from a fam. gathering where I managed to convince everyone to watch the fight had the livingroom packed with beer, food flowing....
We all sat down for I what I told them would be a goof fight (at least was hoping it was or I was gonna look stupid) and it turned out better then what I had told them, they were all really into it....
Good scrap overall and I can't believe Freitas quit again, my fam. started booing.....
The talks quickly converted to May 5th.....
Diaz showed up and I give him credit for this.... well done Baby :appl:

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Freitas vs Diaz!
It's not cool to see a fighter quit, but I can't hate on freitas here, nor do I think anyone else should. I mean he was taking a shitload of straight clean punches all on the button there towards the end and his punches just seemed slow and didn't seem to have any pop to em after about the 3rd or 4th round. I think if he went out for the 8th round he probably would have just got knocked the fuck out cause he looked certainly close to it there a few times in the 8th, he was just going to take more and more punishment and I don't know if a guy should take more than a round or two of the kind he was getting there in the 8th, good for him to be able to quit and err on the side of caution. I know not many people will agree with this and call him a quiter, but I don't see him as such.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Freitas vs Diaz!
Was wondering what people thought on Diaz vs. Pac?
I personally would rather see Diaz move up in weight and face Hatton I think their styles match up perfect for a good scrap.

Pac vs. Diaz would be a great fight, but Pac should be focused on 130 right now, there are too many good opponents in that division. Marquez, Guzman, Juarez, Soto.
Pac and 130 is similar to Floyd and 147..... tons of interesting opponents and good fights to be made.
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Freitas vs Diaz!
i picked that diaz makes freitas quit on his stool and that his hot wifey come into the ring and they have a "MOMENT"! ;D

Good points...
What about Diaz vs. Hatton at 140?

Diaz-Hatton would be a great fight too. Diaz' high-activity style is going to make all of his fights interesting. I'm not sure Hatton would fight him though. Diaz wouldn't have a belt, wouldn't be a mandatory, wouldn't bring a big amount of money or a big fanbase.... seems like a high-risk, low-reward fight for Hatton IMO.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Freitas vs Diaz!
CC for the DRBR Wack. I've never been much of a Diaz fan but he seems to be doing really well so kudos to him. Sounds like ANOTHER great fight,2007 is awesome! I want to see Diaz Pacman!!!
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Freitas vs Diaz!
how bout Diaz goes to law school and comes back to win a title now thats OG! talk about giving the sport a good name! he could negotiate his own contracts literally! :D
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Freitas vs Diaz!
I was there, it was probably the most exciting fight I've been to. Freitas may be all done.
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Freitas vs Diaz!
Diaz looked impressive with his pressure but he can look a bit wild and he lunges in at times. His jab is a lunging powerful jab but he could be timed and countered. Diaz showed his chin in the fight,he took some hellacious uppercuts! I thikn Diaz would give Manny hell,he's a really big strong 135 pounder. I'd rather see Joel Casamayor v Diaz! Nice clash of styles. Has Diaz ever been down?
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Freitas vs Diaz!
What a great fight! I know some people are gonna be dumping all over Freitas 'cause he quit on the stool..... and I gotta admit I wanted to see more of that intense action, but let's face it....... Freitas was going nowhere, but toward a certain KTFO defeat. It's easy to "throw the Christians to the lions" when you're safely up in the stands, but a fighter's life and safety should come before all other considerations.
Diaz was awesome. Every time I see him, I come away with the same impression. He's an iron-chinned, punch-throwing machine with no "reverse" gear. He'd give anybody fits in that division.
Finally, I was not very impressed with Max's interview after the fight. He sounded a bit uncomfortable and out of his element. I thought one comment/question was particularly stupid, but I can't remember what it was right now. Must've not have made much of an impression on me.
Very good fight, tho!!

Casamayor would box him into submission IMO...
