Stop with that stupid talking point. The fight was TWELVE ROUNDS, not one. Kaszmerick had scored rounds 8 and 10 for Oscar, rounds he DID NOT win, and rounds which NEITHER of the other judges gave to him. If they would have been scored for Floyd, it would have been a UD. So let's not get too picky now, genius.
P.S. Floyd won round 12. Watch it again and see.
I didn't see Floyd do SHIT in the 12th round. I completely disagree with you, hey that's what it's all about right? That's why we're in this great boxing forum. It was Mayweather's night, the decision went his way...it could have gone either way. It's quite funny seeing the crazy comments people write about it being a blowout! ::** ::** ::** ::**
That's funny, cuz I didn't see Oscar do SHIT the ENTIRE FIGHT, except through some embarrassing old man flurries in which he didn't land a single punch (and the crowd, and the three stooges from HBO went nuts). What I saw was a very wide UD. Watch again and pay attention to what actually lands. Oscar was "more aggressive," but didn't land anything. Really, it was pathetic. You don't get points for that.

Completely disagree with you again. How was Floyd bleeding from the nose then? From laughing too hard? How come he had swollen eyes? Did you also fail to see that? How do you suppose that happened? Care to give a brilliant answer to that? Oscar won barely but he won. We can also make a case that Floyd won BARELY. But it is BS to say Floyd won by a lot!!! BS!!!

agree with ya there mate. it was a very close fight and i had it to oscar maybe by one round, but i think oscar let himself down again with his stamina, but to say that floyd won it easily is bull shit. floyd talks that much shite i think the habit must be rubbing off on his die hard fans.

Oscar landed about 100 punches, none of them flush. That's enough to cause a little bit of bleeding and swelling. Knocking someone's gloves back into their own face when your shot is blocked will do the same thing. Again, fights are not scored on what someone's face looks like -- they're scored on actually landing punches. Oscar landed a few, but not very many. Floyd landed a lot. Wide victory for Floyd.

So what were Roach's thoughts on De La Hoya's split decision loss to Mayweather after reviewing the fight on tape?
“I know we could've fought a better fight. It was my first fight with Oscar and he was doing very well early in the fight with the jab," he would say. "But then in the middle rounds, for some reason, he crouched down and gave away his height to Mayweather a little bit and he widened his stance and took his jab away from himself. I urged him to get back on his toes and jab. It just wasn't there that night.
But I thought Mayweather looked good in rounds nine, ten and eleven, threw some good combinations and so forth. But I think we came back in the 12th. We had a very good round.
Good thing Tommy Kaszmerick scored the 10th for Oscar. ::**

Yeah, but you can easily argue that one of the judges scored the 8th and 10th(I think?) for Oscar when the other two judges didn't. IF Tom Kacz...something agreed with the other two judges in those rounds, we would've had a UD. Or if he agreed in one of those rounds we would've had a MD. But we didn't.
What of it?

"That's pretty funny," said Roach, nearly choking on his own laughter, at the thought. "He's a good little boxer but you can't measure him in the same sentence as those guys (like Ray Robinson and Ray Leonard), c'mon."
True, Mayweather was not really good when faced with a better fighter like Dela Hoya. I can't believe that Mayweather is pound for pound #1. I can't even believe he won the fight. He won the fight according to the judges' card but not on the cards of people who watched the fight.
i watched the fight and i'm currently watching the fight and i thought PBF won. PBF landed the cleaner harder shots thoughout the fight. oscar barley landed anything clean. those combos look good but all they did was make DLH tired because he was missing.
I had to agree. PBF was landing the cleaner and harder shots but you can count those shots. My count says he hardly had the count to win that fight. No offense to PBF fans, I think, it was not a convincing fight for a pound for pound #1. Mayweather, was not at par to my expectations after all the hype he received. However, a win is a win --- I must agree to that. No sad clicks please. :)
