im not too sold on macau for some reason i think its all hype. one of my business partners/mentors is an OG in the international business scene and he tells me macau aint all that and in his eyes he feels ARUM is just saying he gonna post up a fight there cuz he's helping wynn out with some hype publicity for the resort itself.Quote:

Macau is the fastest growing tourist site in the world, I think it and Dubai are the top 2, and one of the best gambling cities in the world. They wouldn't have any problem selling an arena out and quite frankly it would be cool to see, one of the novelties of boxing is that it can take place anywhere. I would love to see how boxing's biggest international star is received there.
LOL! I think TheBESTP4P was joking.Quote:

;D
but then again boxing rec has failed us many of times unfortunately :-[
but then if u go to the General Motors Place stadium website they aint got nothing crackin for 10/6....................yet ;)
Golden Boy and Top Rank, according to a Boxingconfidential report, "may be in sync because a source with knowledge of the situation said Wednesday night that GBP's Richard Schaefer and matchmaker Eric Gomez have plainly said they do not want to hold back Guzman if he can get a big-money date against the Filipino national idol."
"We've got a date and we've got a venue," Arum said. "I spoke to the people at the venue late this morning. We've got Vancouver for October 6."
Both Pacquiao and trainer Freddie Roach have reportedly "green-lighted" Guzman as next in line for the Filipino boxing hero.
I hope this comes through. I don't mind missing some classes and shelling out some dough to see this fight - It'd be my first time watching a fight live.
Has there even been a big name fight in Vancouver since Ali-Chavelo?
hmmmmmm good call bro!Quote:

i kinda like hot arum has his fighters fight EVERYWHERE and not just in vegas or atlantic city like some other promoters do.
GM Place would be, I guess, the premier venue for a large-scale boxing event in Van. It seats around 18,000-20,000, the only place larger is B.C. Place, which is an old ass dome stadium that the B.C. Lions (CFL team) play in - I think there's a stadium in Minnesota that's exactly the same. There's also the old hockey arena, the Pacific Collesium, but its a bit run down - well maybe not run down, but its old as hell. I'm not sure how big boxing is in Vancouver, but there are lots of Asian immigrants and I imagine Pacman is probably quite popular in Asia, but I'm don't know if they'd sell out GM place. I hope it does sell out because it might mean more boxing in Van.Quote:

I can think of a couple of smaller venues that would be pretty wicked to see boxing in, but I doubt they'd be large enough for a fight of this magnitude.
yeah i peeped the GM place website and they dont have jack squat booked for that day oct 6th! wink wink crossing fingers!Quote:

If it’s already Vancouver for Manny Pacquiao’s next fight, then it’s the General Motors Place, which can accommodate as many as 19,000 fans, as the perfect venue. Although there’s no official announcement yet coming from fight promoter Arum ;)

Can't find prices right now, but I think upper bowl tix usually run around $80-$100... I think. I think most of the prime seats belong to season ticket holders, so I don't know about individual prices..Quote:
