Joe Calzaghe...............or is it he avoids everyone :)
I dont think Calzaghe has deliberately avoided anyone, more a case of Frank Warren not making the right moves. In fact I think in the vast majority of cases the fighter himself will go in with anyone, its the promoters who seem to do the 'selective matchmaking' (ie. avoiding!!). Beware promoters/matchmakers.... the more you get the top names avoiding each other, and making fights with meaningless titles at stake, the more people will turn to MMA where the top boys are always facing each other. I'm not a particular fan of it myself but can certainly see where the attraction lies. We have now reached a point where world titles have become meaningless and top matches are made for the reputations rather than the belts.
that's a little off...if a fighter (especially a CHAMP) wants a fight they usually get it...Calzaghe has backed out of enough fights to tarnish anything he had after Lacy....

Tony Booth and Peter Buckley ;D
Re: The Most Avoided Boxer of all Time??
Please tell me there taking away Tony Booth's licence.
Saw him "fight" Derek Chisera on the undercard of Calzaghe Manfredo and although the entire crowd thought it was hilarious i really felt disgusted.
Re: The Most Avoided Boxer of all Time??
he fought a Commonweath champ other week cant remember his name got stopped in 2
Re: The Most Avoided Boxer of all Time??
Re: The Most Avoided Boxer of all Time??
I donno one week he's fighting guys in their debut fights an not only gettin beat but also laughed at and now he's fighting Commonwealth Champ's????? This is exactly the thing thats bringing boxing into disrepute :(
Re: The Most Avoided Boxer of all Time??
Tony Booth is W50 L98 D9 i think fighters like this should be banned
Re: The Most Avoided Boxer of all Time??
I whole heartedly agree! Against Chisera he came to the ring to lose! He stepped into the ring, took punches and when Chisera (who was rubbish aswell) got tired stopped punching, Booth who new he was employed to lose stood back and clowned to the crowd! And as iv already said the crowd thoufght it was hilarious! What bothered me tho was that the Calzaghe card was meant to b a showcase of boxing at its best and an attempt to get the attention of the general public and show what boxing is about! What is this going to show for boxing?

I agree. David H is by far, the most avoided fighter of all time.

Hey, don't pick on Pro Boxer 18. That guy's a "monstor for his weight". You'd duck him too. Especially after we all saw his astonishing, Mayweather-like work with the mitts.
