Ramirez looks like he has a pretty tight defense, not very often you see a featherweight use a caged defense like that. Robert Guerrero does it but that's the only one I really know who blocks so close to his body. But Guerrero is a big guy.
Teddy just used a bus stop metaphor :D
De Jesus is picking his punches really well in the early going, putting those punches under the elbow very well but he is way open when he ducks down on the inside like that.
If this is any indicator of the rest of the fight, we're in for a good one...Ramirez has a nice left hook, so does De Jesus.Ramirez has nice tight defense.
I had that round to Ramirez, sharp and accurate, althoug De Jesus was using pressure, he landed very little indeed, Ramirez landed some nice right hands.
Ramirez needs to have that jab out there, especially when he's just standing in front. Vecayse De Jesus got 2 big right hand leads in th early going right over top of the left. Tinming him beautifully with that left hook though. De Jesus can't get away from that left hook, he's putting it at the end of his combos and it's working beautifully.
Nice little comeback at the end, Ramirez really has to let the jab out or pick the left up because when De Jesus is leading with the right, it usually finds it's mark. Makes me wonder who he is coming with the left really, probably because he got timed with the left hook that last round.
And Michelle Ramirez is amazingly hot.
This is a nice little fight we have here 8) IBF ranked bout, Guerrero holds that title, I would like him to matchup with either of these guys, Ramirez in particular. I like how Ramirez stands his ground and doesn't close that distance with the fast puncher in De Jesus.
Ngoudjo and Bailey is going to be awesome!
And Pascal - Williams in the co feature :o Wow those are HBO worthy fights.
gave first to De Jesus second and third to Ramirez
Definitely impressed on how De Jesus has found his mark more with his punches a little bit more, definitely more controlled now then he was in the earlier rounds. I like what he is trying to do when he gets Ramirez to lunge forward, Ramirez is tight though but De Jesus is accurate and he's caught Ramirez flush a few times this round.
This is a very good fight. Both of these guys are good fighters.
See what I mean, De Jesus comes in, backs up gets Ramirez to chase and pops him right over the guard. I want to see him do that a little more and a little earlier in the round. Don't like that uppercut from that far away.
Damn these last two rounds were pretty close.
I love fighters that throw lots of left hooks, always helps make exciting fights because they cause openings.
Is it me, or is Atlas confusing De Jesus for Ramirez? I thought Ramirez won the first part of last round and then De Jesus stole the round a bit.
Gave ramirez 4th De Jesus 5th..3 to 2
that does sound pretty goodQuote:

If Ramirez is going to come in with that 1,2 lunging inside, why not throw that left hook when De Jesus sets his feet and tries to sharp shoot? It worked in rounds 1 and 2. I think he is trying to make sure he stays balanced but he's kind of half committing on whether or not he's going inside or not. He's putting his hands and head down but he's out in front of his feet. Might as well throw the left at the end of that because he isn't recovering from that little lean in fast enough to block De Jesus' punches.
I have it 3-2 Ramirez right now but these rounds are close. Excellent fight. Lot's of intrigue, not many mistakes and plenty of punching.
I think as the fight goes on if it does Ramirez is going to get stronger..damn you Teddy you stole my thunder...
De Jesus will get penalized next low blow..that could come into play later, six more rounds.Gave that one to De Jesus, even fight ;)
Teddy has it 5 rounds to 1 :o I think it's 4-2 at the most either way. I have it 3-3. And Ramirez is winning the round.
Teddy is on crack ::** I have Ramirez up , I think he stole that round at the end. 4 to 3
I have it 4 to 3 aswell. I could understand it being the other way too but nothing more then that. Those right hands are really finding their mark. Wow.
Definately a Ramirez round Teddy probably had it for De Jesus. ;)
Yeah Teddy is really getting on my nerves with this hometown bias thing. Ramirez' wife must have rolled her eyes when he told her about the scar on his face or something. Usually like him but there's no controversy if Ramirez wins this fight. Plus it might be moot anyways because De Jesus is starting to bounce around a lot and is getting wild with his shots.
I didnt see the low blow, hope they replay it. I knew this ref was gonna penalize him, those first ones were iffy and alot of other refs would have let em slide.
De Jesus looks very tired. Isn't even moving his feet much anymore and is falling off balance when he gets hit good. Wouldn't be surprised to se this one end soon. But as I type that, big right hand from De Jesus on that low left hand. Ramirez can't lean forward like that with his left so low. Nice job De Jesus, I think he took that one in the final minute.
Haha, Teddy is off tonight. He's talking about how De Jesus is all there, but I think he looks worse this round then he has in the fight. Very stationary when he plants his feet and not hitting Ramirez with much of anything. I think he needs a knockout.
But this is a very entertaining fight. Enjoyed all 11 rounds thus far.
This is a great fight, De Jesus isnt wilting he looks fast still. Ramirez is the one gettin slower. Surprise there...Got Ramirez up a round i think, goin into the 11th
Very hard to score this one , lets see who wants it more in the 12th.
Still fast with the punches but he was flatfooted a bit that last round, not as bouncy in and out. I lost track of the exact rounds but I have Ramirez up especially with the point deduction.
Maybe I was wrong, punch track seems to favor De Jesus. I wish De Jesus kept with his plan of making Ramirez lunge forward all fight, it really works. Man though, this is a quality fight.
Fighting to the bell, that was one hell of a card. What a treat, late start and a crap opene r but WOW. I had that last round even I think.
I wonder what Teddy had it, I think this is his first fight he's ever scored with no even rounds. ;D
Sheesh Ramirez in a sqeeker..plus its his hometown, unless Teddy is one of the official judges there ;) Great fight wouldnt argue with a draw one bit.
Im sorry but thats why we need a federal commission here comes Teddys speech...
Nope, Teddy had the third even ;D
Wouldn't argue with those scores, I thought Ramirez won the more rounds plus the point deductions. 8 rounds to 4 may be a bit lopsided, but 116-111 isn't bad at all. And there were a lot of close rounds so I don't have a problem. I'm glad Teddy got cut off. Usually like him but better he saved the robbery BS tonight.
Hahah he got cut off. I was ready for it. I had it 7 rounds to 4 going into the final round, and the 12th could have gone either way imo. I don't have much of a problem. Lots of close rounds, could have gone a variety of ways.Quote:

Either way, definitely a good showing by both, want to see both again sometime.
But Ramirez won, don't know where he ranked after the win. He was ranked 11th prior to it. Wouldn't mind seeing him fight a guy like Eric Aiken before seeing him fight Guerrero. I think that would be a good matchup. Don't like that little lean forward with the hands low thing.
that was a good fight. that was the first time i'd seen either fighter and was entertained
I enjoyed the fights tonight and would have accepted a win for either fighter as legit. Now, I must admit that I had a houseguest and couldn't focus 100% but it looked like it was a seesaw affair.
In the end a win is a win and a loss is a loss. Does it really matter how much you lose by if you looked good doing it? Yes. Yes, it does. ;D
Good fight. Thought Ramirez was going to were him down with the early body work, but De Jesus, came through it, and actually, was getting the best of Ramirez later. I saw it fairly even, but I definately didn't have what the judges saw. Hometown scores for sure. Not dissapointed with the Ramirez win, especially with the point deduction for De Jesus, but 117-110, that's ridiculous.
