Joe is not getting any younger but he IS going to be getting a whole lot richer.
Good on him he has been great value for money and win or lose he deserves his payday.
I'd love to see Joe pull a big performance out of the bag but I'm really not sure, it's a tough one to call.
There's gotta be a fair few people on here with egg currently on their faces after the slatings they serve up towards Joe.
I'm wondering why it's taken 3/4 days for Palle to get back to Frank?
After all the b*llshit he's been spouting about Joe not wanting any part of Kessler you'd have thought that he'd have had this deal done and dusted by now,add to that the fact it will be in Denmark and it seems even stranger!
Don't get ahead of yourself man, not a damn thing has been signed yet. Just keep the fingers and toes crossed and don't count your chickens, otherwise we may be may see an Evans Ashira rematch as Joe's 'super' fight.Quote:

My apologies, I thought it was a done deal.Quote:

Okay, I'll hold my horses, but if it happens it will be strange for Kessler to have a hefty number of travelling fans there!Quote:

I will put my neck on the line and say that Calzaghe will win via points. Whats more I think I would like to be there to see it. Will have to work on a long weekend pass from the missus as supposed to be off on holiday.
Looking for places in denmark already - this fight will cement joe as an ATG imo and shut so many people up.
Oh, yes he will!!!!! ;DQuote:

I dont even think this is a fight that will end up all that close....and i worry that this will again detract from people appreciating Calzaghe when its all done and dusted with...
I have criticised JC for his dithering over fighting opponents but if this comes off, I congratulate him wholeheartedly and a win secures his legacy imo. He ANNIHILATED the other guy who was considered the best in the division(LOacy) and now, if he wins,he'll be unbeaten, have unified, beaten the 2 best in the division and really cemented his place in history.
Also,I consider this fight to be more dangerous than the Taylor one,so for JC to GO ABROAD and take it would make a win even more of an incredible achievement. He'll pushing hard in P4P rankings too. It should be a cracker.
Sign the fwocking contract, lets get this fight sorted out!!!
If this actually goes through, I'll be incredibly excited about this fight. I wonder how Calzaghe's hands will hold up? He hurt them again against Manfredo didn't he?
That being said, I won't believe its going to happen until they climb through the ropes and I hear a bell ring.
If Calzaghe's hands hold up for 12 rounds, I think Kessler is gonna get battered!!!! But I don't think Joe's hands can last a 12 round war - I mean he broke one on Peedy's soft head in that bore fest. So if the hands 'go', he either gets pulled out or gets beat - simple as for me. Aint gonna beat Kessler with 1 hand like some of his other victims
CC - Rigth on point m8Quote:

I agree he totaly outboxes Kessler if his hands hold out.But that is a big worry he hurt his hand against Manfredo without throwing a power punch he will need need to let his hands go and throw some power punches just to keep Kessler thinking. If he doesnt do that Kessler willl just walk straight though Calzaghes shots.Quote:

Id take Bika over Andrade as well
Kessler is what he is and he is just a basic boxer with good accuracy but he doesnt throw alot of punches gets beaten to the punch and gets pushed back by aggression
The combination of Joes high punch out put and southpaw style will trouble Mikkel for sure
Agreed. Calzaghe is going to work Kessler over something rotten. Kessler has little chance of beating Calzaghe.Quote:

finally calzaghe has done the right thing. cant wait for the fight
Mundine was an extremely limited fighter when he fought Kessler and had even stopped by Ottke. Undoubtably he has improved since the Kessler fight. Lucas was a journeyman by the time he fought Kessler. Beyer was only ever a very limited paper champion and Andrade has nobody of real note on his record.Quote:

Kessler will never have had to deal with someone with as quick hands as Calzaghe. Always on the move always looking to bring the fight to him. Calzaghe's movement and output cannot be matched by Kessler. Kessler is not going to be able to control nor dictate the pace of the fight.
Kessler is the one who has question marks against him. His record is more padded than Calzaghe's by quite a leap. Kessler has a good jab, but I doubt he will be able to govern the ring with it against Calzaghe who will be constantly moving and coming in at angles and throwing from all over the place. Indeed as the fight progresses Kessler will need to show he can actually go 12 rounds and in that time actually win some rounds against someone who has no issues with throwing 1000 punches in a fight if need be.
You are right that Kessler will not win by Knock out, but I find it hard to imagine Kessler winning on the cards. Calzaghe will dominate Kessler. Kessler will have his moments and but far more of those moments will come from Calzaghe.
Lets get it all signed and officially declared because this fight needs to happen.....I cannot wait!!!! ;D 8)
Are you going Miles if it comes off
I dont know. I live out in Korea and so its a bit far and is more than a weekend trip for me. I will come home for a few weeks at some point this year and maybe a few days extra to see the fight will be possible. Its a slim chance that I can go, but you have got me thinking!!Quote:
