Re: FLOYD SAYS ITS ON!!! WOOOOOOO IM GOING BABY!!!
Maybe it's Floyd thats made the mistake insulting Hatton.
For a nice guy that doesn't have any real bad blood with his opponents Hatton sure does turn nasty when the bell sounds. ;)

Rick's latest outings would suggest otherwise.... He faded against Collazo, Urango and only fought 4 rounds against Castillo so we dont know if his conditioning is up to snuff

Even Hatton's greatest detractors cannot deny Hatton's bodywork is exceptional.
If you say Oscar was old, then there is no doubt that Castillo is Father time by your calculations and was no were close to the caliber he was 5 yrs ago against Floyd... I agree Ricky is a superb body snatcher, but yet so is Floyd. he buckled Oscar with a body shot and yes he trains his abdomen extra hard... I mean big deal I see no relevance there. Also you gotta take into account Urango took the piss out of Ricky with a few bodyshots and left him hurtin bad.

However, when Floyd uses this slip to the right against Hatton he will still be in Hattons range as Rick' is lower than say Oscar, Castillo, Corralles and Judah. Being short may be an advantage.
This is the funniest comment you made and should have done research into.. Floyd is 5'8
Baldomir is 5'7
Judah is 5'7 1/2
Mitchell is 5'7
Gatti is 5'7 1/2
Bruseles is 5'7 1/2
Corley is 5'7
Castillo is 5'8
And Jesus Chavez who could match Ricky for pressure and work rate is only 5'5 and got uppercutted and ripped apart by a not Prime Mayweather...
So I dont really see the coralation in regard to Floyd fighting taller fighters. He has been the taller guy or same height as his opposition with the exception of Delahoya ???

Re: FLOYD SAYS ITS ON!!! WOOOOOOO IM GOING BABY!!!
I actually think Floyd was a far far better offensive fighter at the lighter weights. His offence at the higher weights has been limited.

Very true. At the higher weights he seems to pot shot and then move. He throws punches in bunches much less frequently. His output is effective but surprisingly minimal.

Well his punches definitely had more effect when he was fighting smaller opponents. At 130 pounds, he could outbox guys, but he also had the power to hurt them.
I don't think Floyd believes he can really hurt a true 147 or 154 pounder, so his offense is more about scoring points and winning rounds.
Hatton is not a true welterweight, so it'll be interesting to see whether Floyd is more aggressive.

CC back at ya....Don't get me wrong I am guilty of bashing guys that I don't like as much as the next guy...I mean if you cant root for your favorites and detract against those your not a fan of what is the fun of it all but....When it comes down to business and using common sense you have to go with the logic.....I mean hey I wanted Gatti to beat Floyd to a pulp and openly stated so but fact is I knew it was not going to happen no way no how...Doesnt mean I didn't want it to happen....Truth is I will root for Hatton....I have to be realistic on the situation though

Re: FLOYD SAYS ITS ON!!! WOOOOOOO IM GOING BABY!!!
I think ricky will have his moments, and maybe knick around here and there for being active - but i honetly can't see any other winning apart from mayweather? it just doesnt seem possible to me...
Im never really been someone who will swear down there can be only one winner in boxing, but in this case i can see no way hatton can beat floyd - hatton aint an idiot tho, i doubt he would put him self into a fight where he can not win, so i could ofc be wrong
-
Re: FLOYD SAYS ITS ON!!! WOOOOOOO IM GOING BABY!!!
iono about this fight man
yes they are two good famous fighters
but their style of fighting might make this a gay fight
mayweather usually punches once or twice and backs up
and hatton freakin punches once or twice and holds
i think this fight is going 12 rds
-
Re: FLOYD SAYS ITS ON!!! WOOOOOOO IM GOING BABY!!!
Either UD12 for Mayweather or Hatton gets stopped on cuts no way does Hatton beat Mayweather i would put my house on it.

Out of his league?? That makes me laugh mate big time, you know what the odds are for this fight:
Mayweather 4/7
Hatton 5/4
Not exaclty out of his league odds them are they?? Now i think Floyd might be to clever but Hatton is a beast and we know he will train like a mad little f***** for this and he has the intensity to make this a close fight, if this is out of his league mate you should go re mortgage the house and get your money down, because if what you say is true it will be like buying money.
uhh odds don't mean shit...remember Douglas vs Tyson??
really, i don't know much of hatton...never really watched him, so i can't give a honest opinion.....yet.........TO YOUTUBE AND AWWWWAAAAAAAYYYYY!!!

those odds are b.s.
ive checked every reputable gambling website on the internet and theres no line out for the fight yet.
unless he posted u.k. odds already cause theyre not out in the u.s. yet, and when they are he can be assured that mayweather will be a heavy favorite

The bout will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Mandalay Bay or MGM Grand for Mayweather's welterweight championship. Mayweather promotions and Golden Boy Promotions will co-promote the event. Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaeffer was unavailable for immediate comment, but one has to wonder if Golden Boy Promotions has inked the Pride of Manchester since it has no promotional contract with Mayweather. More to follow including tons of exclusive coverage with the best fighter in the world so stay tuned. Until then Remember where you heard it first! (11:43 PM EST)
COME ON TIME TO SAVE UP BABY!!!!!!!!
Honestly...it wouldn't shock me to see it being the other way around...Golden Boy & Mayweather getting something together...who knows.
Good to see that this fight materialized...I'm shocked.

When floyd takes on a REAL challenge, that's when I will give him respect. Faggot floyd will only fight when the other guy is not in a position to fight back and this is usually because they have chased him around the ring until they were tired. I would absolutely LOVE to see him use his skill set (that everyone knows he has) to actually fight someone. floyd could easily win the respect of many people if he would fight rather than be the "defensive master" that he is. Cowering in the ring against fighters you know you can beat is not impressive and never will be. Although I don't see Hatton winning, I do think it is a step in the right direction for floyd to lay claim to p4p.
I don't see half of the controversy for consideration of Joe Calzaghe as p4p and hopefully, Ring Magazine will take that under advisement if he can get past Kessler.
Bottom line, pick a challenge, not just a challenger and then fight, not run.

One of the dumbest posts ive ever read from somebody new.
youve probably been watching boxing since all the way back when Mayweather fought Delahoya and now you know it all, right?
Mayweather is a blown up lightweight.
Mayweather just beat Oscar Delahoya at JR. MIDDLEWEIGHT!!!!
Heres something for you to do..................
Watch ANY of Floyd Mayweathers fights outside of his last 3. His last 3 were great, but theyre more for people who appreciate technique and skill. Not so much for the bloodthirsty fight fans.
At 140 and down (even his 1st fight at 147 against Sharmba Mitchell) Floyd was very exciting to watch for even the most novice fan, and his fights usually ended up in a ko. I think Hattons gonna bring that back out of Mayweather in December because Rickys a lot smaller than Baldo or Delahoya (and we all know what was gonna happen to Zab before the riot broke out)
Theres probably a UFC fight or some other garbage on tv right now that can hold you over until youre done downloading those fights.
-
Re: FLOYD SAYS ITS ON!!! WOOOOOOO IM GOING BABY!!!
I love boxing and UFC.
I'm glad both sports exist.
But I'm the fan who wants boxers to go for the knockout. If I watch football, I wouldn't want the pros to play "touch" football. The same goes for boxing. These sweet science purists need to go and create a their own version of boxing - "touching".
Floyd needs not to fight at heavier weights, because he's boring. I think he's way better at 140 and lower.
I expect this fight to be decent with a lot of running on floyd's part and holding on Rick's part. Either fighter is capable of winning.

Idont know why I am going to waste my time responding to a 20 post Johnny like you whos ignorance will get him banned by tomorrow, but I can never miss an opportunity to own a jackass like you ;)
Thats just plain assanine.... Tell me one fight beside the Baldomir fight that he let his foot of the gas in a fight he was utterly dominating? He had a career payday set up with Delahoya so he chose to box and put on a clinic. All of a sudden thats a problem >:mad please Newb go formulate your own opinions instead of buying into the same old recycled garbage that is unsubstantiated and not even true to begin with.
Your are cut from the same moronic cloth that says Floyd has no heart, no pride and only fights for the money and dosent care about what the fans want. Now he takes on a guy that was jawing with him and a matchup that has been highly anticipated for years and on the majority of fight fans wish list, and all of a sudden there is a problem.
Defensive fighter? thats funny too.. Defensive masters like Hopkins, Whitaker, Wright, Toney, Pep etc. are either in the hall of fame or on their way.
-
Re: FLOYD SAYS ITS ON!!! WOOOOOOO IM GOING BABY!!!
Well said JT, although I don't like Floyd's attitude in interviews and TV appearances, and after fights, he's fronted up when it comes to getting fights made, and there's no doubt he's a p4p great.
But my one quibble would be over James Toney going to the Hall of Fame. I just think he'd sully it as an institution, and would eventually make it the "Boxing Hall of Fame (and Burger Joint)".

Re: FLOYD SAYS ITS ON!!! WOOOOOOO IM GOING BABY!!!
I still don't understand why people cry about floyd's style....everyone knows what to expect from him, so if you don't have a way to stop what he's does then why fight..just to get pot shoted and then cry about it after. Is it exciting maybe not, do i like it..kinda but reguardless it works. He's sitting as champ of various weight classes undefeated blah blah blah, so he's doing something right. If hatton thinks he's gonna go in there and fight pbf the same way he has fought others in the past and win then the same thing is gonna happen that always does....floyd will win again, and most will sit around and try to point out what was wrong about how he won which doesn't affect his record in the least.

Mayweather will be the obvious favorite, but I give Hatton every chance of putting up an excellent showing and wouldnt be overtly shocked if he pulls it off.
Ever thought the odds may be close because Hatton has more fans than PBF? Odds are rarely an accurate indication of how a fight will play out. Sharmba Mitchell was favourite over Kostya tszyu, yet when the fight occured Sharmba was obviously out of his league. You wouldnt mortgage your house because there is a 5% chance u may lose it. 5 % Hatton wins, 95% Floyd wins. Still dont mean Hatton is in the same league as FLoyd.

Floyd's not my favorate fighter, but I can't blame him for being a "defensive master". It is what he does best. He's not trying to please anyone, just trying to win.
This being said... I would love to see him in an exchange just to see what would happen.

Just watch his fights from featherweight up to 140. He won all of his 'exchanges'. The guy was actually known for his speed AND power in the lighter divisions. I think against Ricky Hatton he gets his power back and it will become a big advantage over Hatton. Floyd is deceptively powerful. Remember he coul have had De La Hoya out in the 5th round when he buckled his knee's but didn't go after him. Hatton is just gonna get hit with shots that he won't see.

New to the site ja***ss, not new to boxing or floyd's career.
IF mayweather were as well received for his "technique and skill" as you believe he is, there would not be sooooo many posts wanting to see more from him. (saddoboxing is not the only website in which people post). Have you been really LISTENING to boxing anaylists lately? They are constantly throwing out barbs along the lines of "these are fighters, not businessmen" (paraphrased).
No one can dispute the fact that mayweather is the best businessman in the sport of boxing....ever. I've said it before and I'll say it again, floyd will never be confused for a fighter, only a great boxer. I give ALL respect to those who are willing to take a chance in the ring and take on a challenge rather than the best business decision.
Stop drinking the koolaid and think!

Say what you want but IMO it is not wise to make a guy who is ranked #1 P4P in the world who has the skill of Floyd angry.....If Floyd feels he is fighting for pride not legacy it will elevate his game to a new level....
Tooo much speed....the combos.....he willl flurry Hatton and get out before Ricky knows what hit him.....
I don't think Floyd will knockout Hatton IMO he will do his best to embaress him by making him look out classed and overmatched.......
Hatton will have his moments but Floyd is going to make an example of Hatton....Sadly but true

I like Ricky alot, and believe he is one of the good guys of the sport, a great ambassador and down to earth being as approachable as you could ever expect a star to be..
But Floyd is in a whole other league, I get frustrated with the Majority of 20 post jonnies here that support Hatton and trash Floyd. Even the most Zealous Mayweather fan will credit Ricky at the end of the day for his determination and attitude.
People who will call Floyd all Hype, you fukwits know who you are ::** is just plain dumb PERIOD!!!!!!! if he is all hype than he must have all the RESPECTED writers, sanctioning bodies and Ring Magazine Buffaloed then since they have him rated #1 PFP fighter in Boxing.... Believe me it has NOTHING to do with popularity either, Floyd is the real deal and all the detractors will turn coat on Ricky when he loses and tumbles off of being the failed latest and greatest Mayweather Slayer who got beat ;)

Floyd's not my favorate fighter, but I can't blame him for being a "defensive master". It is what he does best. He's not trying to please anyone, just trying to win.
This being said... I would love to see him in an exchange just to see what would happen.
He has exchanged though many times i don't think people watch enough Mayweather fights watch Ndou fight or Chavez fight or ect.

Where to start, Where to start?
OK, I'll start with the beginning. I guess you equate number of posts with your IQ. Only those with many many posts must be intelligent enough to understand the complexities of this sport, right? WRONG! Sure you have friends here that agree with you, even the most simple minded deserve to have friends. It's obvious that you've been drinking the same koolaid as frozensolid702. floyd is not as great as you wish he was and he isn't in the same league as Hopkins, Whitiker, Wright, Toney or Pep. There are a lot of boxers that I could add to the list but I'm sure your terrific intellect can add them yourself.
The difference between the aformentioned fighters and mayweather is that they were/are willing to take on the biggest challenges (knowing that they might lose) and in most cases, opting to have a rubber match even though they've been beaten.
If you will recall, I said Hatton is a step in the right direction for floyd to be considered legitimate, I never said it was a problem.
Listen carefully as I don't want to have to repeat myself to you or idiots like you again, floyd himself admits to EVERYONE that he chooses the best matchup for him based on business. He doesn't refute this or get angry, he just shakes his head in agreement. To me and many people like me, that makes him a puss. Point blank, end of story

Why is Toney or Hopkins that much better than Mayweather ?? Toney got gifts from journeyman fighters and Hopkins best wins were against fighters moving way above there natural weight Tito Oscar Wright ect.

My belief is that they put themselves out there when they know they may lose or they have lost to a particular fighter. I want a hero just like everyone else, I just don't buy in to floyd as that hero....yet.

As one of the writers for the site I did a statistical analysis of the fighters currently in the top 10 p4p list of the site and ring magazine, and when it comes to the number of champions/former champions faced and the number of title fights a fighter has been involved in, Mayweather is head and shoulders above the competition when you factor in the length of career. He's taken on more challenges from more champions than anyone else there by some distance in comparison.

It appears that part of the quote you used is actually someone else and not me. May have been an oversight.
The reason there is so much controversy in this and other posts (not just about mayweather) is that the people want fighters inside of their boxers. Challenges, THAT is what makes this the sport it is. Seeing someone come out victorious when they are down or are not given a chance gives the fans an incredible rush. It's why we watch. (mortar comments answered).
Was it "brilliant" what Klitschko did to Brewster?
Lewis did to Tyson?
Hopkins did to Hakkar?
Wright did to Trinidad?
Holmes did to Frazier?
RJJ did to Pazienza?
No, these aren't brilliant fights, just people who never should have been paired up in the first place.
mayweather has taken on several "named" opponents (many in title fights) (many great fighters) and only occasionally has he not been the favored to win. Even in those instances where he is not favored by Vegas et al. he is still considered the one who has the better chance at winning.
He stands "head and shoulders above the rest" due to the fact he has not (in my and others opinion) gone into the ring with anyone that stands above him to start with. Boxers who are allowed to put their hat in the ring for the p4p title are the ones who take the FIGHTS that could end their reign as champions even if no title is at stake. I could go through a long list of people who stepped up against all odds when they knew that they were going to more than likely lose. THAT's a champion, win or lose.
Not once have I said to myself before a mayweather fight, "oooooh this one he's gonna have to work for. He may even get his ass handed to him". I'd be willing to bet his business sense has kept him away from those fights

Good points, I believe the Ring once contained an article dealing with the difference between Great fighters and Entertaining fighters.
Their Comparison utilised the differential between George Chuvalo and Muhammad Ali.
They illustrated that although Chuvalo was a great fighter to watch, engaged the crowd and would have been a good ppv fighter, he could never be mistaken for a fighter of sufficient quality to be called a "great."
On the other hand Ali was a fighter who comprised of all the sufficient skills and style to brand him an all time great (and although i dont agree,) it took away from his entertainment value.
Altghough not fully agreeing with the choice of fighters i deem the hypothesis true. Big Difference betwween entertaining fighters and Great fighters. I believe a good illustration of this point came after Arturo Gatti's retirement. Jim Lampely (I think,) made the point that although not an all time great Gatti will always be remembered for his Attitude and entertainment value.

Erm, how do you find an opponent where you're not the favourite if you're the pound for pound best?? I'm sorry but you're a moron who's IQ really does equal his post count (and I think i'm being generous here).
The reason he's always the favourite is because he is the p4p kingpin and for good reason. Hey, anytime a natural featherweight is considered a favourite against the top dog in the 154 pound weight class it is amazing. You're basically saying that Floyd is TOO good..ironic
Also in some peoples opinions Floyd was way out of his depth in a few fights :-
Hernandez
Coralles
Ndou
Baldomir
De La Hoya
He always proved those select few wrong..
Anyway back to my point..your a moron

OK Althugz, I guess I will remain the kingpin of kicking the ass of girlscouts. And before you and others booo hooo saying he didn't fight girlscouts, I agree. But he didn't fight people who stand above him not because of his p4p rating (no sweetie it's not irony here, you missed the mark) it's his lack of whatever it takes to take on a real challenge. I'll hold your hand through this:
Jones vs Ruiz - DLH vs Hopkins - Trinidad vs Hopkins - Ruiz vs Valuev - Jones vs Tarver (after suffering 2 recent knockouts) - Mosely vs Forrest II - Spinks vs Taylor and so on and so on.
You see, these fighters chose to step up and fight a harder battle when they were clearly not favored. Obviously you and others like you want floyd to continue kicking the ass of all of their opponents so you can say hooooorayyyyy he's the bestest fighter ever in the whole wide world. I on the other hand would like to see him really step up for once. IF he decides to go this route, then by all means, he would fit the bill as the best p4p ever.

and you don't consider Floyd stepping up to 154 to face De La Hoya a challenge? Even though he catered to each and every one of De La Hoya's demands that put him at a distinct disadvantage?
How has Roy Jones got more balls than Floyd going to heavyweight to fight John Ruiz? haha you're fucking deluded kid!
Jones Tarver 3...believe me if Floyd ever got a loss he would be right back in that persons face requesting a rematch. Wether it was via knockout or not.
Mosely Forest 2..again that was Mosely looking to avenge a loss..something I know Floyd would do should he lose.
Spinks vs Taylor..come on??? Spinks took that fight because it was the only fight he could get!! Who the fuck wants to fight Spinks?? lol
feel free to respond for some more 'ownage'
Stick around, you can be the Saddo bitch. I'm having fun anyway..
