Except for that sixth round where Harris finally showed some desire for the fight, Witter was wholly dominant. However, the one thing I would say is that it is not for this performance Witter is avoided, it is because he has been in quite a few dull fights, but hopefully this will change things.

that was a good win for witter, nothing more.

He looked good, fast jab, and was able to land good power shots against an easy to hit guy.

World class? fuck no. Witter can not throe or land good combos. he leads with his fast jab, and hurt harris when harris was swinging widly. Whenw itter tried to lead or throw good combos he missed widly and got caught... his trainier calle dout paulie? hahaha paulie doesn;t have the power to KO wittier but by christ will he school him over 12 rounds.

Impressive win. Did not look or sound like a title fight though I could not get exited.

I think Hatton has moved onto bigger and better things, i mean win or loose against Floyd, where would he go ? Back down to 140 to fight Witter? maybe a big fight at city's stadium or maybe he will stay at 147 and fight either Mosley or Cotto.

That was fucking painful to watch. Can't stand that little bastard. It just pisses me off hearing "i'm the best 140 pounder in the world" when it's fucking clear to the world that he's not. Part of me wants Hatton to keep telling him "no" because Witter doesn't deserve it, but there is a big part of me that wants Hatton to just accept and knock the shit outta him.

Win or lose, Hatton will fight De La Hoya next. I think thats a pretty much lock because De La Hoya really wants it, and Hatton won't turn down that purse to fight at Wembley stadium against such a huge name.

I was waiting for you BZ....I know your opinions on Junior Witter (as does everyone else within shouting range I suspect), and although I agree he isn't the world's best 140lb fighter, if we agree that Hatton has moved up to Welterweight to stay, there aren't that many out there better than him.

I don't think a fight against Malignaggi would be at all entertaining, but it could well be fairly competitive.

As for those of you playing in the prediction competition, Rob Nelson v Andy Bell for the inaugural English Super Flyweight (8st 3lb) title and its a decent fight between two of the smaller guys. Andy Bell has looked good in the first four round, being significantly taller, and is boxing well, keeping Nelson off for the most part, and Nelson has taken most of the damage so far, and Nelson getting caught as he tries to get inside the Bell reach. Result to follow.

Listen mate, lets be real here for a second and understand boxing ok? witter is the WBC champ and damn well has to believe he is the best 140 in the world, weather we agree or not (i don't). On the undercard...for the English Super Flyweight title, Andy Bell took his height and reach advantage boxing Nelson, and eventually showed some power with some big shots, putting Nelson down twice, before the ref stepped in to stop the reeling Nelson. And not to brag....but I had Bell by KO in 7....ok, that was bragging.

If he moved up I dont think he'd do it the "wrong" way as Hatton said was the reason for his bad performance..

But I dont think Witter would move up just now, he wants to solidify himself at 140 first

Witter imo does hit at the same level and definately seems to have the better chin,he's faster and has a better defence plus the fact he's a switch Hitter make him a serious danger to anyone at LW and Welter.

Im pretty sure Lovemore N'Dou would put Witters power on a par with Cotto.

Witter throws fast explosive single hits, Cotto throws by comparison slow thudding whacks but more often, I'd say theres not a lot in it either way.

Decent win for Witter, he delivered what we all wanted so cant ask for more than that, OK so the Hatton fights no closer to happening for him but that was going to be the case regardless, its all about what Hatton does or doesnt do isnt it?

I don't remember saying that i am Cotto fan anyways as for Smash Witter leaves his hands down too much and his chin is there to be hit and Cotto will hit it and no way does Witter take Cotto's best shots at Welterweight.

But to be fair to Witter aswell he has very quick hands and good power i wouldn't be suprised if Cotto had to take a count i think Witter will definetly shake up Cottto few times but once it gets into middle rounds Cotto will take over with them crunching body shots and stop Witter late on.

People have been saying that Brendle Ingle fighters leave their hands down too long but that is one of their greatest weapon when it is done right by a good fighter from their camp such as Naz and Herol Graham. It was suprising how Vivian Harris was so confused and beaten and Johnny Nelson did say that US fighters tend to get confused with the style in the gym and he said he would have no problem beating Paul Malignaggi. Whilst I do not think he could beat Cotto he could unify the 140 division, and that should position himself for the big fight winner of the Welterweights Mayweather/Hatton/Cotto/Mosley

I'd have to say common opponents. Cotto beat Judah and stopped Corley. Witter hasn't really had the same tests yet.

Also, in terms of skill, Cotto has great power and resiliance and has the ability to trouble anyone. He also knows how to get himself out of trouble, and I don't think Witter would apply enough pressure if he had Cotto in the kind of trouble Torres did.

I'm a massive Cotto fan, and I may have mentioned the odd time that I don't care for Junior Witter though, so I'm totally bias.
