I just find it hard to believe Mayweather would be scared of someone who had no wins and best name on his record was Daniel Santos and he lost that fight Mayweather fought Corrales who was big and a strong puncher plus undefeated why would he fear Margarito maybe he didn't say anything when Tony's name was mentioned because he wasn't worth it ?? and im not trying to diss Margarito but im just saying he was not worthy of his shot and if Mayweather would have fought Tony all we would of heard was Margarito hadn't fought anyone he was overrated ect Mayweather had nothing to gain beating Margarito what so ever except pleasing the Margarito fans but thats worth jack S***.
As for Leonard he boxed beautifully in the rematch with Duran combination's, footwork, ect Duran just got frustrated because he was getting his ear's boxed off simple as Duran was never a great fighter when someone boxed him from outside remember Kirkland Laing gave Duran a boxing lesson.
ICE COLD, I will agree that Margarito wasn't worthy of a shot at Mayweather at the time, but it's clear Floyd was afraid of Margarito. Antonio is an imposing physical presence, perhaps the most imposing in the welterweight division. Regardless of who Antonio has beaten or not, his constant pressure and power spooked Floyd. I mean, Floyd turned down 8 MILLION to fight him. At the time, that was the biggest purse Floyd was ever offered!!
Exactly. Ice misses the point..cue "who did Margarito beat, what had he done etc etc" ::** ::** ::**
Well who had he beaten ??
Well i think Mayweather has took right path don't you ?? he fought Oscar and the fight was huge probably one of the most anticipated fights since Tyson vs Lewis and is now fighting Hatton in huge fight Margarito did not deserve the fight vs Mayweather and i would have been surprised if Arum allowed Margarito to fight Mayweather by offering Mayweather 8 million dollars because not only would Mayweather have gave Margarito a boxing lesson he would of ended Arum's hype machine.
Oh and by the way Gamo im not hater of Margarito im actually fan of his style and was rooting for him vs Williams.
LOL,don't worry bro,I know you're not a hater but you don't understand the point. There was a career high payday for Mayweather on the table. Saying Margarito did not deserve the fight doesn't make sense for a guy who only cares about making $$$$. It if makes dollars,it makes sense, that's one of his favourite sayings...
The same could be said about Zab and Mitchell. Who had they beaten? Why did Mayweather fight them?

I can see it from your side Gamo i wouldn't of minded seeing to be honest just because of the public calling Mayweather a chicken ect would of been a chance for Mayweather to prove them wrong.

1.) In case you forgot, Mayweather made the same amount of money fighting the linear welterweight champion (Baldomir) as he would have for fighting Margarito. So I guess even you can see that it did in fact make $$$$ and even more sense ;)
2.) Sharmba was #2 southpaw in welterweight division at the time Mayweather fought him (possible tune-up for southpaw, linear welterweight champion at the time, Zab Judah??) and was also Mayweather's first fight at welterweight (a division that all of the haters were saying Mayweather wouldn't be able to handle at the time)
3.) Mayweather vs. Judah was signed before Zab fought Baldomir and Zab was undisputed welterweight champion of the world and had all major belts. Judah was also Ring Magazine welterweight champion at the time. Mayweather fought Zab anyways, and in his next fight went on to fight Baldomir.
I've checked you on these issues many times in the past, Gamo. You know better ;)
Please don't turn into one of those weak a** posters that gets corrected with facts, then goes on to other threads and posts the same nonsense, praying that the person who checked him doesn't catch him on the other thread.
C'mon, Gamo. Even you are above that ;)

Dude,I would address your posts but your ass gets embarressed by so many people, that no-one responds. It's the same old BS from your mouth in every post."Zab is the best,Zab is this,Margarito the journeyman,Cotto cheats"...
Perfext example: Sharmba was the number 2 WW southpaw. WTF kind of ranking is that? Ok...Margarito was the number 1 Mexican at the weight ::** ::** ::**

You should re-read my post then edit yours in order to save yourself some more foolishness. Mitchell was #2 SOUTHPAW welterweight AT THE TIME. If that's not true, tell me who was.
And of course, once again you failed to address any points of the post I made. Instead you opted to call it BS and start spouting ignorant dribble as usual.
You got checked again in this thread. It's probably best if you moved on to another thread and start ranting about "Margarito being Mayweather's biggest payday," and "Who did Zab Judah fight at welterweight," and hope I don't find you running your mouth on that thread and end up checking you again.

Ok sure. Like I said, find someone who responds to your posts and then I'll respond too. Until then, keep posting your nonsense. And I just forgot to mention southpaw, does not make your point any better: I didn't even know we had WW southpaw lists.

Re: Which of these 3 fights will have more substance than hype?
Frozen don't get on Gamo because you are a in love with PBF and have his dick so far up your ass it take a year to pull it out man you are so in love with him you even said he has beaten bigger names then RJJ in post which i think is bull
-
Re: Which of these 3 fights will have more substance than hype?
Then say that Zab would beat Margriot with no problem win Zab hasn't won in years and got beat by Baldimor
-
Re: Which of these 3 fights will have more substance than hype?
Which makes me think you are a pbf fan boy and a hater when it comes to Margarito so dont hate on Gamo because you hate Margarito

We were having a debate. If you have nothing to offer to the debate or the thread, then why would you post on it?
Are you seriously trying to police threads while offering nothing intelligent to whatever discussion is currently at hand?
Seriously?
Pretty weak, 140................. pretty weak :-\

Re: Which of these 3 fights will have more substance than hype?
What is weak about it frozen that you trying to correct Gamo just because you dont agree with him and i am pointing it out because you try to act like you are right all the time which is not the case and i do not think you can admit it
-
Re: Which of these 3 fights will have more substance than hype?
So yea i pointed put that you are bias when it comes to mayweather and even said PBF beat better opposition then RJJ which is wrong
-
Re: Which of these 3 fights will have more substance than hype?
And then go off to say that Zab would destroy Margarito with no problem and did not even explain why he would kill Margarito and personally if he is not good enough to hang with Badimor then how is he going to deal with Margarito and to me makes it sound like you are a hater
-

if you actually read the post, you would see that what I was disagreeing about were facts not opinions ;)
Mayweather fought Baldomir (champion)for the same amount that he would have gotten for Margarito (contender) - FACT
Mayweather signed to fight Judah while Judah held all major titles and was undisputed welterweight champion of the world - FACT
When Mayweather beat Judah, he fought champion Baldomir - FACT
I could go on again, or you could just go back and re-read the post. What was said were not opinions, they were facts ;)
Starting to make sense??

I've posted reasons why Judah will beat Baldomir 18 million times on this site....... Everybody on here already knows why I have said this and I shouldn't have to explain it once again to some new guy who is too lazy to look back on other threads.
As far as your Judah vs. Baldomir logic.................
Here's how easy that can get spun right back against the Margarito fans...........
If Margarito got his face busted open so bad that he couldn't continue his fight with Daniel Santos, how could he expect to hang with Judah?
See how that works...... ;)
-
Re: Which of these 3 fights will have more substance than hype?
I read the first part wrong and i will apologias for that i guess i was still bit mad about some other things you posted and i disgreed with and got me bit heated so my bad you were right in the case of the money so i let you be i was wrong and don't have a problem saying it but as far as the RJJ thing goes think he had the better record and i don't fell Zab could destroy Margarito but that is for another day
-
Re: Which of these 3 fights will have more substance than hype?
And the dick in the ass thing was a bit uncalled for because we all have our favorite welter weight and your is seems to be PBF and i guess i am guilty of it to because i am a huge SRL fan and sometimes i seem to always go with him because thats my favorite
-
Re: Which of these 3 fights will have more substance than hype?
Yea but if Baldimar coud break Zab down i am sure that Margarito could and yea the thread i was posting in you did not give a fact i do not know all your posts but the one that i was in and posting on you did not give one so i did not know
-
Re: Which of these 3 fights will have more substance than hype?
Personally, I think that each of these three fights have the potential to live up to the hype, but I think that it depends on the attitude the fighters take into the ring.
For me, the most likely to provide a ding-dong entertaining battle is Calzaghe v Kessler, because neither is an especially defensive fighter, with Calzaghe throwing punches in bunches from all angles, and Kessler coming forward with a fairly linear, but powerful attack. Unless someone gets KO'd early doors, I reckon this one could get really exciting down the stretch.
Secondly is Hatton v Mayweather, because if Hatton gets to fight his fight it'll be a cracker, but if Mayweather gets into his slick style and fends Hatton off for 12 rounds, it could be a little on the dull side.
Lastly is Taylor v Pavlik, and this all depends on how Taylor looks to play it, and whether Pavlik can land the bombs that destroyed Miranda. If Taylor comes out defensively, it could well be a bit of a borefest with Pavlik struggling to get through, and Taylor trying to throw enough punches to win each round, whilst never showing his chin.
