Re: I really like Hatton but I think he is blowing it.
LOL,you really think I care who knocks Margarito?! I think I've been the only fan here defending him (along with a few others like Gyrokai-where the hell are you,Danny G and few others who speak the truth). Margarito has always been disliked, that's not what bothers me. It's when posters make stupid points about him, when they dont know much about him or they don't know what they are talking about.

I've havn't knocked him Gamo you know I've been a fan of his over the past few months, I've defended your corner several times.
I just don't think he is a Floyd beater and I don't think Floyd was scared to face him ;)

Thirdly, Margarito ripped off someone's ears with his fists,I'm pretty sure that makes him some sort of monster. Finally,Mayweather may very well have been hot favourite v Tony but just because Tony lost to PW does not have ANY relation to Mayweather v Tony. At all. In any way shape or form.
Ah mate when else have I used the word exposed?
I'm not saying that he did get beat down but he WAS exposed in as much as being this super threat to Floyd Mayweather. All the Floyd haters were saying for years that Floyd is was ducking him, too scared to fight him and then he goes and loses his title convincingly to Paul Williams.
And by the way I remember you repeatedly saying that Oscar De La Hoya got convincingly beat by Floyd Mayweather as if it was just a walk in the park but I'd imagine that 90% of unbiased observers would say the Oscar Floyd fight was far closer than Margarito Williams.
Oscar was in the fight with Floyd upto the final round, and only lost a split decision. Margarito basically needed a KO to win after round 8. ;)
Like I said, just because Williams beat him, doens't make sense to make an anaology with Mayweather. Is Mayweather a 6 foot plus southpaw who throws 1,000 punches and has one of the longest reaches a WW has ever had?? Not understanding the analogy.
And no,90% of observers wouldn't think the Floyd fight was closer. I don't recall anyone having the fight for Oscar,5 or 6 ringside judges had the fight either for Margarito or 115-113 Mayweather. I posted the ringside scorecards for both fights myself.
I had Margarito fight 115-113 for PW and Floyd 116-112. Difference...Margarito was comingon strong and had the biggest round of the fight. Mayweather rocked Oscar twice and won the last 4 rounds ina row easily. So again,I'm not understanding where you are going with that point?
I had PW vs Margarito fight 116-113 and Mayweather vs Oscar fight 116-113.

That's fair enough man but I disagree. Like I said, the Williams analogy had no relevance. You still didn't address that point. How does Paul Williams beating Margarito have ANY relevance whatsoever to Mayweather being able to beat him? It's simple,it doesn't.
And you've defended my corner, which I've appreciated,AFTER you used to be one of Margarito's biggest critics....until you started watching his fights ;) ;D

I have to agree with Gamo about Margarito he was beat by very talented Welterweight who is a windmill and is a freak of nature at 6 foot 2 and Margarito made very good account of himself if he would of beaten by one sided decision then i could understand but he didn't and i would love to see rematch in the future.

CC,that's my point. Tony did well and had he started letting his hands go earlier, who knows? That's a topic for discussion on another day.
Re: I really like Hatton but I think he is blowing it.
Yeah I see the rematch going a little differently, as I think Margarito will work alot more in the early rounds. I wonder if he thought PW would tire out in the middle rounds and not keep throwing a billion punches. Ice is correct, PW is a freak of nature and if he learns or has the ability to sit down on those punches, it would be big trouble for everyone in that division; he's already big trouble right now anyways. Tony didn't get beat down in that fight, just outworked, simple as that imo.

Nice logical, common sense posting. I like. Have like your 4th CC this week from me ;D :D I think PW would be awesome if he could generate more power but then that would take more out of him,so he would not be able to throw as many I don't think.

If they ever do rematch it would be nice to see Margarito jump right on Williams and try and go punch for punch with him i don't think i've ever seen a Welterweight with PW workrate its just a crazy amount and i think people are writing off Margarito too quickly for losing a decision to a fighter like PW and plus Margarito gave great account of himself coming on in later rounds i think i need to put Margarito in my avatar for a while because i hate it when people write other people off for no good reason.

Exactly :coolclick:
Re: I really like Hatton but I think he is blowing it.
CC's right back to you guys ;)
PW is no joke, and people better wake up to that. Margarito's mindset is to just let you wear yourself down or he'll do it for you. He seemed really frustrated and who could blame him? He's going to have to pull a Hatton type fight and just jump on the dude if they fight again, but they better get Margarito in the best condition of his life to keep up a pace like that. Though I don't want to sound like the guy who says "this one is the one to beat Floyd"; PW will give Floyd fits, because PW doesn't forget his jab; in fact that's the only thing he remembers, and with that heigth, it could be very interesting. To me, and no disrespect to Gamo, I think if Floyd is leery of anyone in that division, PW is the one who gives him the most pause to get in the ring with.

I think Hatton was exposed not ill prepared....he might dominate a bit 140 and below...but his lack of year round conditioning comes into play with the top fighters......Hatton no longer can have the partying lifestyle and expect to beat top fighters let alone PBF!!!! ooops sorry...."Money". Money can fight any day of the year.....I'm sure Collazo is similar....also Hatton isn't big enough physically.....His frame/body can't function properly at the higher weight....we'll see soon enough.....I've been wrong before.....

Even if your opinion is that he was exposed, you can't deny he was ill prepared. Only started the move up to 147 a few weeks before the fight, blew up again to 160 and fought at 155. For a guy whose whole game plan is stamina and workrate to be carrrying an extra 15 pounds is poor preparation - and that it acknowledged by him and all of the camp
