Nonsense. The article is dubious to say the least. You must factor in the source of the article and also the perspective its trying to put across.
Your opinion here is fickle and indicates that you take anything The Sun newspaper utters at face value.
Be a little wiser, Ice.....this is gonna be a thriller and stop paying too much to rumours in a propaganda war.
I imagine its quite possible that Barrera has been knocked down in sparring more than once in his career and it really isnt something to worry too much about. Making a slip up whilst preparing new tactics is quite understandable.
I think Meaning if it is true Miles ;)
But im still rooting for my boy Barrera don't you worry Barrera is going to win 12 round decision COME ON BARRERA.
Damn right, he is!! :coolclick:
And then he will sign off by not bothering with Pac again and having a farewell fight for the fans.
Now thats how to leave the sport! ;D
You will surely cry Miles if it won't happen.
Well we could say the same to you aswell and the other Pac fans on here nothing wrong with rooting for your fighter like me and Miles are doing just like you are doing Miles is good poster and will not cry or do anything childish i think your comment was childish and totally uncalled for because he is just supporting his fighter.
And :coolclick: back Miles.
hahaha.why? is it wrong to cry for a fighter you love?
That sounds an eensy bit gay, does it not? ;D
MAB's corner did cry when they said "no mas" at the 11th round against PAc.
It's okay to cry sometimes. Let all your emotions out,... in anger, disapointment, or tears of joy. If you don't, you're more likely to have a heart desease or lower your immune system and get some type of cancer (medically proven).

Re: Barrera knocked out? in Sparring
seriously i think that people are writing him off too quickly, but i don't think that he beat Marquez, wait to fight night before getting ahead of yourself, especially you Pacquiaostraightleft, you swear Manny is invincible and sorry when you're ko'd at 106 lbs. there never is the chance that a lucky punch will put you out, i mean Pacquiao is elite, he's one of the best (Marquez and him are the top 2) in the division, but he's not a god, he can be beat, and already Morales has shown that, he came back from defeat yes, but he can lose again, so stop riding his cock so damn much

Maybe you're the one who's been obssesing and riding his cock since you brought it up. I never said Manny was invincible, where the f*ck did you get that? I don't know what the hell you've been smoking boy, but I'm sure it's illegal. Stop making up sh*t now. And how come in desperate move to get back @ Pac or his followers.. they always bring up his early KO losses? Dude, know your boxing history. Pac was young skinny teen-ager who never had any amature background. You had to go back @ 106 Pac just to make a fwockin stupid aguement?.. ??? WTF? THAT WAS THEN, THIS IS NOW.

Re: Barrera knocked out? in Sparring
the fact that he was stopped at that lower weight is significant, because both Marquez and Barrera hit a hell of a lot harder than that, and seriously you make Pacquiao out to be this imortal warrior, everytime anyone mentions him, and you say he'll beat anyone easy, also with your bs argument on how he should be p4p #1, when everyone knows he shouldn't

If JMM and MAB hit a lot harder,... then how come they were the ones who smooched the canvas multiple times against Pac? Sh*t man, they couldn't even floor Pac. And don't make this a Pac-PBF issue now. ::**

Re: Barrera knocked out? in Sparring
Marquez sure as hell wobbled the shit out of him in the 6th and that was after he was dropped 3 times in the first, and believe me mentioning the fact that Pacquiao had dropped him 3 times in the opening round doesn't help Manny, because honestly Marquez pretty much dominated him from the 4th round on, so yea
-
Re: Barrera knocked out? in Sparring
I really doubt this is true first of all, just read the article.
It doesn't cite anything in the Barrera camp and took word from a dinner accross the ocean. Really doubt that's where this scoop would come from.
And if it is, then that is certainly a bit troubling but we will never know and I think it's safe to say that it didn't happen. The article is very sketchy, almost like it was made just for message boards.

lmfao!!! :lolhaha:
Wobbled?.. is that all you got? A lot of fighters rocked Pac FYI. But most of them failed to finish him off coz he has BIG HEART and refused to go down.

Re: Barrera knocked out? in Sparring
and the fact that he was dominated for more than half the fight after putting down Marquez 3 times in the opening round, does what to help Manny?

If I'm Barerra I want a rumor like this getting out(especially if it isnt true)

...Oops! sorry. Are you still talking? ::**
In case you didn't know, Burt Clemens (one of the judges) acknowledge he had misunderstood a Nevada scoring doctrine that should have mandated him to score the 1st round with its 3 Pacquiao knockdowns to Marquez 10 to 6 for the Pacman. Instead, Clemens scored a 10-7 for that round,.. gave Marquez a critical point he needed to ultimately secure a draw. Manny CLEARLY won that fight.
So you see,... Pac connected more crisp punches, busier, and should've won that fight.

Re: Barrera knocked out? in Sparring
no not really, Marquez was the more effective counter puncher and his striaght right landed more effectively once he was aware of Pacquiao's left, and dude seriously you just pulled some corny immature shit that the kids that i work with don't even say and yea they range from 6 to 12, seriously man up

Hehe! Maybe those kids that you're working with are smarter than you. You might wanna ask their advise about this topic. JMM's counter punches were more slap shots. If they were so effective, Pac would've kiss the canvas. Common sense homie. But yeah, I agree with the judges, they saw the fight the way I did... except one of em' dicked up big time on that stupid single error.
-
Re: Barrera knocked out? in Sparring
slap shots don't snap your opponants head back, and yea then i guess we should be that big on Pacquiao's power seeing how he couldn't get the very much lighter Oscar Larios out of there huh
-

Most of those Pac's head snapping were from natural reflex. JMM's punches were so predictable and Pac saw them coming and he tried to avoid them by dodging backwards. Those kinds of punches obviously didn't impressed the judges. Pac was snapping JMM's head too after the 3 KDs.
Did you even watch the Pac-Larios fight?... Pac was toying Larios ancient gladiators style just to entertain his countrymen. Larios face was all messed up. He kissed the canvas twice. When he was gettin up from those KD's... he looked like a newborn deer, weak legs and sh*t.

Re: Barrera knocked out? in Sparring
No possible way that either JMM or Pac clearly won their fight. Pac wiped the floor early and he may have not been in serious trouble but he lost more rounds then JMM no doubt. Wierd how the 3rd round ended up being the most critical round of the fight when it came to scoring.
-
Re: Barrera knocked out? in Sparring
I think Manny is a more complete fighter now than he was when he fought JMM and lost to Erik Morales. In those fights he was almost a one armed fighter! That's has a lot to do especially with JMM figuring him out in their fight.
I haven't seen it posted, but seems like many are alluding to this article on HBO's web site. I think this could be the greatest equalizer for MAB.
I'd take the MAB KO rumors with a grain of salt...

I totally disagree, you're way off bro >:mad. You forgot,Manny was not wearing the right socks,he had blisters. If he ahd the right socks on,he would have won. Surely this counts towards scoring? ??? :D :D ;D ;)

I couldn't believe this excuse would come from el gamo, my long lost brod (but did I smell a bit of sarcasm? ;D). First of all let me say that on points, pac lost that fight by a point, imo. Now the excuse: ;D ;D Immediately after the fight, the local tv station which sponsored the fight interviewed pac right there at the ringside where he showed his badly blistered and swollen feet, something bad enough to make anybody think that you'd hardly be able to walk with - it was something much worse than the one on Marquez' hand. You'll get the hint of that in the fight. Take a look at the second round, it was pac who stop short, not Marquez countering. Pac just started wandering aimlessly as if he ha some problem, and every pac-fools know that that's not the real pac cuz we know if he smells blood, he will just continue his fierce attack relentlessly until he has taken down his prey. There wasn't much countering either to speak of by Marquez as he seemed just trying to regain his composure. Just watch the 2nd round and you'll know what I mean. Only at round 3 does Marquez start countering, he must have noticed something wrong with pac. And pac's being countered gets worse and worse as the fight moves on. I really thought Barrera could KO Marquez and he almost did, so imo there is no way a guy who easily went down 3 times in the 1st would survive the next 11 without some good reason, all right, excuse, call 'em wht you want, you fools. Of course this is just my theory and I'm willing to bet that pac will finish Marquez within 3 rounds the next time around, but if he survive the sixth round, win or lose, KO or not, I'll give him the full credit for his 'dramatic comeback', no if's and but's for me if that happens! So for the naysayers, let's just wait for the rematch. But in fairness to Marquez, let me tell say this: I think there are only two boxers who have the power (take note, I meant strictly in terms of power) to KO pac, and they are Valero annnnnn........nd the second one is no other than Marquez (and I'm not even trying to be a Mr. Niceguy here). But he just hasn't got the chin to move forward and follow up on his power shots cuz he'd most definitely lose in the exchange.
I've been waiting for someone to share those pics or vids of pac's swollen feet here, so I'm asking all the pinoys here to find one and share it here so everyone can see and judge for themselves. I'm not trying to convince those who want to believe pac is good for nothing, you know the usual ones out there who have nothing good to say about him, I just have no time for them good gals, except maybe in the bed. ;D :) ;) ;) ;) ;)

I disagree bro. Firstly, blisters or not,it's all a part of the fight game. Secondly,JMM was countering beautifully. It had nothing to do with Manny. Manny was left hand happy from the first round and because it got him success,he kept on trying to use,JMM adapted and won nearly every round. He boxed Manny's ears off. You say it's because Manny changed BUT if JMM had decided to counter from the first round and not exchange,he would have won the fight easily. The reason he survuved is because he adjusted, because he was caught cold in the first round. Remember,he rocked Manny to his boots at least 2/3 times.

Not all sparring situation are the same. All out wars sometimes gets heated to the point the other fighter ending kissing the canvas.
However, I was browsing a minute ago,... I just wanna share this good article that I found (related to this topic):
Barrera Already On The Canvas?
by Matthew Hurley: The upcoming rematch between Marco Antonio Barrera and Manny Pacquiao has more people wondering if Barrera has anything left rather than if there could be a reversal of Pacquiao’s 11th round knockout of the “Baby Faced Assassin” back in 2003. The rematch was a natural about three years ago but now this bout between two of the preeminent fighters of the era seems more of a formality than anything else. And now there is news out of Mexico City that a sparring partner may have knocked Barrera out cold..
Whatever the case may be Pacquiao and Barrera seem to be two fighters going in opposite directions. It isn’t inconceivable to envision Barrera falling in this bout in much the same fashion that Erik Morales did to the “Pac Man”. Or, for that matter, as Jose Luis Castillo did against Ricky Hatton. All fighters reach a point of no return and much like his most heated rival Morales, Barrera has been in one war after another and his body is breaking down, albeit at a slower rate than “El Terrible’s”. It has become more and more difficult for Barrera to fight three minutes of every round and that sloth nearly cost him in his first bout with Rocky Juarez and finally did catch up with him in his bout against Juan Manuel Marquez.
This signing of this bout also smacks of a perfect business opportunity. Most fight fans and boxing insiders would have preferred a rematch between Pacquiao and the more deserving Marquez who fought to a draw in 2004. Having beaten Barrera logic would dictate that Marquez would get the prize but once Golden Boy Promotions, which handles Barrera, and Top Rank, which handles Pacquiao settled their differences the rematch was the first order of business the two companies hashed out. Basically the once warring promotional firms came to the agreement that bouts between Pacquiao and Golden Boy fighters will be co-promoted. When Pacquiao fights opponents outside of fighters under Golden Boy Promotions, Top Rank will promote the fight with Golden Boy maintaining a promotional interest, which means they will be paid a fee.
Still all of this should not take away from the fact that if any fighter deserves one final shot at glory it is Barrera. He has certainly more than proven his worth during his Hall of Fame career and should be able to go out on his own terms. Despite the fact that, much like before Erik Morales’ third fight with Pacquiao, most experts think Barrera just might be in over his head. But never say that to a warrior like Marco Antonio Barrera. His pride has willed him through one tough bout after another when his talent could not quite get the job done against the best fighters of his era. It was that pride that raised his game to another level and elevated him to victory. And, there is always the sense that every great fighter has one last supreme effort left in him even when it appears there should be nothing left. Erik Morales recently proved that with his stirring showing against David Diaz in August.
So, will these rumors of Barrera being knocked out in training be a harbinger of things to come against Pacquiao? Or are they just rumors tossed out to further inflate the confidence of an already supremely confident, and perhaps distracted Manny Pacquiao? We’ll find out on October 6th.

I see your point with the highlighted comment. CC.
