I think GAME is great ;D
I love Barrera & all that as a fighter...but this is going to be a repeat.
Pac's got that number.
so wacko, are you making a round by round on this one?
Should MAB be beaten in this itlk b my second incorrect prediction in as many big fights :-[
hahaha. should Pacquaio win I will be again in the top 5 in boxing prediction.
I'm not gettin into that prediction comp until after Mayweather/Hatton is done!
Revenge all the way. Barrera is gonna steal the bulk of the early rounds and cruise on down the stretch.
A close fight, but a Barrera decision.
I give more chance to Hatton beating Floyd than Barrera reversing it with Pac. And I don't give Hatton a hope in hell against Floyd.
Hope I'm bigtime wrong but
I think Barreras corner will be saving him around the 7/8 round mark.
I dont usually disagree with you, Fenster.Quote:

I hope you're right cos I'll be cheering for Barrera.Quote:

As I said.. hope you're right and i'm very wrong.
Barrera completely outboxed Marquez in the 8th as far as I recall and thereafter consolidated a very good performance.Quote:

I hope you are wrong too. Its gonna be a tough, tough fight. If Barrera gets set early and wins the early rounds...as he should...then we have a classic on our hands. Barrera needs his legs here and he needs his head.
No one is underdog in the eyes of Pac.
So says Pacs Right Tit!Quote:

Manny is winning this fight. Manny 85% is winning this fight. MAB is too old now,he fights 45 seconds of a 3 minute round. The Pacman fights 3 minutes of each round. MAB will start off well early and then will get caught and stopped later in the fight. The Gamo has only got 1 or 2 big predictions wrong, this won't be added to it.
The all-knowing Gamo's crystal ball ;D. Agreed, Marco won't be able to keep up if he let Pac dictate the pace. Marco can't just conserve his energy either by throwing less punches and work his tight defense through out 12 rounds.Quote:

Yeha bro,I mean there are just some fights that are easy(imo) to predict.Oscar Floyd.Hatton Castillo. I add this to that list. Hey,if I'm wrong,I'm wrong but look at the factors. Pac has beaten MAB already. Manny is in his prime,MAB clearly is nowhere near his. Styles make fights,Manny has the style to beat this boxer version of MAB. MAB likes to control the tempo,he can't do that v Manny. MAB wants to pick when to fight,he can't do that v Manny. Plus Manny hits too hard for MAB. Forget the legitimate excuses MAB had for the first fight, facts are facts,MAB didn't just look poor,he got KTFO. He didnt under train and lose a UD,it was a beating. If MAB tried to box,he'll let Manny take control of the pace. He doesn't have the power to hurt Manny.Quote:

Revenge. Pacquiao is undoubtedly less focused than he was going into the first MAB fight and all of his battles with Morales. Barrera knows he must win to cement his great fighter status and legacy and for fights like that; well i think he really gets up for them. Barrera by UD. If he's smart, he will walk away from boxing afterward and retire.
Seen it already. If thats what Barrera can do without his heart in it then I cannot wait to see what he can do if he is as focussed as he says he is.Quote:

Barrera does not fight 45 seconds of each round!! You cannot win top fights fighting for that much of a round and without getting KO's. Im not sure if you are just trying to wind me up here or not. Barrera will start better and then he needs to maintain the lead.
No way Barrera gets stopped. No way. Its not happening.

I have wagered on or against fighters due to any number of reasons. I have bet due to styles, weight class moves, weigh-in results, training camp results, age, clashing styles, pedigree difference, size, speed and power difference, etc., etc. I have bet with my head for the most part, and with my heart on rare occasions when I could not bring myself to wager against someone who I liked and respected, or who made me a lot of money in the past. I have bet on a bout because I did not like the way a fighter’s body looked – not enough “cut” – a sure sign of a slack training camp. But in all my years of investing in fights I’ve never wagered on or against a fighter because his head looks like William Shatner’s!
Don’t get me wrong – I would have bet on Manny Pacquiao to beat Marco Antonio Barreera anyway in this bout, due to styles, mileage and hand speed. But I’m not sure I would have done a column on it, announcing my wager. Why not? Because Pac Man is a 3-1 favorite, and I rarely lay those kind of odds, and it is rarer still that I announce it, which is the same as recommending it to others.
But I saw Barrera last week. And I was shocked, because I saw William Shatner.
Gone was the “Baby Faced Assassin.” The nickname that Marco Antonio has carried throughout his entire career must now be retired, just as he must be after this fight, one in which I question his pre-fight preparations. He stayed at home, training in Mexico for this fight, to be with his family; a departure from his norm of isolating himself in a camp such as Big Bear Lake. Basic math:
Fighter in training + Family = Distraction.
At the top level of each sport you must have a singularity of purpose, undivided focus on the task at hand. In boxing, it is even more important than in other sports – it is vital. After all, if you are not 100% on your game, you’re not getting struck out, or dropping a pass – in boxing if you’re off your game you’re going to get hit in the head, and could get seriously hurt.
I get the feeling that Barrera knows he is at the end of the line. I think the desire to beat Pac Man is there, I believe he wants revenge for the loss in their previous fight, but his conduct, shape and demeanor tell me his desire to train to get that win, and his self-doubt in his ability to do so at this late stage of his great career, is sorely lacking.
I looked at Barrera the other day and saw Shatner. I have never seen an episode of Star Trek. But it’s been on so many times, for so many years, that I am familiar with bits and pieces of various episodes caught while channel surfing. And I know that when he wasn’t off screwing some green bitch Captain Kirk was fighting a guy with a lizard head, and beating him. The Shatner of today could not beat the lizard-head guy – he would get eaten alive. It’s not just that he’s aged, or put on a few pounds – look at the guy. You would have to put his head in a vice grip and give it a couple dozen turns to squeeze his head down to Captain Kirk size. And I looked at Barrera this week, and saw Shatner. His Baby-Face is gone, his normally well-defined cheek bones replaced by jowls. His face is now round. I saw Shatner, and I saw all I needed to see to know where to place my investment.
I bought Pacquiao last week. I bought him early because I do not need to see the weigh-in results. Even if Manny slacked in camp - which is possible with all the other areas pulling at him, such as politics and his movie career, not to mention drinking beer and shooting pool – it will not matter. He has the strength to get away with slacking at this point in his career – Barrera, the oldest 33 year old I have ever seen, does not. If you’re going to watch, and would like a wager, bet it now as the odds will climb all week, and may go up all the way to -400 plus by fight time. If you think it is crazy to lay 3-1 (it usually is) you can take Manny to win inside the distance at greatly reduced odds, or the Under (the odds on the ‘Under” will also drop during the week, so if that is your option buy it today) as it does not appear that Barrera came to town prepared to last twelve rounds. He is a world class champion, a first ballot shoe-in for the Hall of Fame. I would not be surprised if he gutted it out and went the distance, and I will be rooting for him to knock Pac Man out, despite where my money is invested. But I would be very surprised if he comes away with a win, I would, in fact, be shocked. More shocked than when I saw him this week, and saw Shatner's head . . .
What a load of bollocks!!! ::**
I'm gonna go ahead and say repeat.
Barrera will win this fight. He is smarter than Pac. He is more canny than Pac. He is more experienced than Pac. And he is a much better boxer than Pac.
Once Pac is behind on the cards he will become reckless and then boom. He will walk into a peach of a counter. From the right hand, I might add.
Pac is more than beatable. He is one pretty one dimensional and has been outboxed on more than one occasion.
Ahahahahaha, apart from the last sentence,I could sense the nerves, the shivers in your voice my man :D BTW,that pm was awesome, trip sounded amazing. You needed it,that recovery time will help you get over the TKO MAB is going to be getting. ;D ;D ;D Sorry but there is no other way,MAB is going to get beaten. Think with your head, not your heart ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;) ;) ;) ;) (No,this is not an attempt to make you feel nerves ;) ;))Quote:

Barrera is as smart as they come. In that sense I am thinking with my head. But Barrera is older. But a heck of a lot smarter.
Pac isnt all he is cracked up to be. He is good. But he is far from the finished article.
With the right strategy and skills needed Barrera will win.
I haven't seen anything to suggest he's smarter.LOL,mad? Nope, common sense. Have you forgotten the first fight? ;) ;) ;D 8) Pac is far from finished defensively speaking. Offensively,he's P4P top5,maybe top 3. Speed, power, body attack, improved right hand. His offence is simply put, amazing.Quote:

This weekend it all happens. I think you are playing devils advocate with me. And thats fair enough. If Barrera wins you must kneel before me.
I would never kneel before anyone!!! ;D And if MAB wins, then he will be 1-1 with Pac,the least he can do after the thrashing he took from Manny the first time. And he didn't "beat up" on Morales,he won a close decision....Morales and MAB are 2 different fighterS so that "roundabouts" theory goes out of the window.Quote:

Sorry the wording was incorrect,I meanT,I have not seen anything to suggest MAB is smarter now. He is smarter than Pac. But not by that much, otherwise he would not have taken him lightly the first time and got KTFO. ;) ;D
Fight night is near, the time for talk is over(that sounds cool!)
If by "bollocks" you mean "the dog's bollocks' then, yes, I agree.
Actually, it's called an "analogy" (with a hint of sarcasm added, as is the case with most of my columns.)
I don't base it on seeing Barrera on TV, as most who offer opinions, I have seen him many times, up close.
And I'm saying that I see a roundness to his face that I have not seen previously, which leads me to question his decision to train at home for this bout.
And it's just my opinion that it will cost him come fight night (and this is NOT from a Pac Man fan. As also stated in the column, I am rooting for Marco to KO him.)
You've lost me there. ??? ::**Quote:

Face it. Pacquiao has gotten better, and Marco has gotten slower. I've been reading your Pac-MAB posts, but still none of 'em will convince that MAB would pull off such an upset. Not enough logical reasoning I guess, mostly just MAB praising.
