Damn FIRE, settle down :o That's a no-winner you're involved in. VD does give credit where due, but until then he'll cyber-flog some of these fighters. We all do it. Hell, get me on a rant about Cintron :lickish:

Re: There Is Still Only One Ricky Hatton
This is starting to get as good as the actual fight itself...i say you settle it the way they did this weekend, fire dress up as hatton, demise as floyd and let's saddo promote this rematch !! Hatton has gotten tons of praise here for his effort, it's only fair to let the floyd fans gloat for a bit....when it comes down to it we're all just fans why can't two people agree to disagree and move on.

No way is this as exciting as watching Hatton get WWE'd into the turnbuckle ;D Very sad as a fan, but very funny. If Floyd had lost, it would have been 50 times worse on here.

I really think that members on here don't like new people coming on that seem to zero in on one fighter and rage away at him. It just makes you look like a hater. You may hate Hatton, and that's o.k., but some new members come on here and just do it to start trouble and end up taking it too far and get kicked out. That's all dude. People like to get a better feel for a new member 1st. Ricky did what he could; what's the big deal?

Re: There Is Still Only One Ricky Hatton

I agree and what is worse is the style in which he would manage to connect on those few punches. It would take me back to seeing his trainer with that fat ass sausage suit. Someone forgot to mention to him that they hit back. He fights ugly and looks ugly !!!! So I guess the next question who will dispose of Hitman next? And will the results be attached to PBF finishing him or the fact that he was never all that in the first place ? I will go with the latter.....

Re: There Is Still Only One Ricky Hatton
Fuck This..
Can we let it rest?
Everyone knows I'm a huge Hatton fan, absolutley idolise Ricky but enough is enough...
Ricky put on a brave showing, he tried hard and as always gave us an exciting fight. He deserves credit and will be back at Light Welter.
But here's a fact many Hatton fans are forgetting. He was beaten fair and square. Floyd was on another level and I gained a tremendous anmount of respect for him as during the fight as much as I cringed every time he tagged Ricky, I did realise that I was seeing a fighter operate at an entirely different level than I have ever seen before. This was the first time most of us knew we were watching a true Great Live. Joe Cortez did a bad job sure, but he had no affect on the outcome...Ricky lost himself. And with class...Who else gets stopped (I dread saying Kayoed) and comes back with a joke and a smile. He's a legend in my book and will go on to be HoF.
But as much respect as Ricky merits for that must also be bestowed on Floyd. He put on a masterclass, a superb display of pure boxing and proved himself truely special.
So come on Hatton fans (a group of which I proudly consider myself a member.) let it go, accept it and look to the future. Let's leave this crappy bickering behind and look forward to Hatton's fights in the future where (please God) he'll be the unified, undisputed, linear, one and only Light Welterweight Champion of the world...Yeah?

The guy entered the ring for a boxing match and performed as if he was in a WWF match. Had he displayed some boxing skills instead he'd have never lasted as long as he did. All heart, too short, arms too short, and 1 dimensional. the outcome was a no brainer. And he may get another belt if he decides to get sanctioned for 6 round fights. The guy can never be accused of being a spokesman for British Petroleum...... RIP RICKY it was fun , BTW is your plot next to Hameds?

Was tryin to put this to rest...
Well here we go...
And what other way would he have approached Floyd? In my mind thats the only way Ricky could have approached him. Had he fought on the outside all night he would have been cut to pieces. He went inside attempted some new tactics against Floyd and had some small succeses. For your information, the punches that landed most for Ricky in the early rounds were the jab and straight right. So from that point I think we see that he does have a certain degree of boxing skill.
That point also throws into doubt your claim that Ricky is "one dimensional."
As for your claim that he may get another belt in a six round fight, I think thats not only a snide and unfair comment, I also feel it is uneducated and ignorant. At 140, Ricky's bread and butter is his workrate over twelve rounds. Hamed lost once then came back, without motivation and retired. You can be guaranteed Ricky will come back motivated and ceratinly win a title at 140.
As I alluded to earlier, poor posting by you. I also suspect that you were trying to get me into an arguement and believe me you don't want that. Thanks for trying tho...
-
Re: There Is Still Only One Ricky Hatton
I will always like Ricky he is fun to watch ;). Well at least at 140
because at 147 ::**

Ricky put on a brave showing, he tried hard and as always gave us an exciting fight. He deserves credit and will be back at Light Welter.
But here's a fact many Hatton fans are forgetting. He was beaten fair and square. Floyd was on another level and I gained a tremendous an mount of respect for him as during the fight as much as I cringed every time he tagged Ricky, I did realise that I was seeing a fighter operate at an entirely different level than I have ever seen before.
He put on a masterclass, a superb display of pure boxing and proved himself truly special.
All heart, too short, arms too short, and 1 dimensional. the outcome was a no brain-er.
In my mind that's the only way Ricky could have approached him. Had he fought on the outside all night he would have been cut to pieces. He went inside attempted some new tactics against Floyd and had some small successes. For your information, the punches that landed most for Ricky in the early rounds were the jab and straight right. So from that point I think we see that he does have a certain degree of boxing skill.
That point also throws into doubt your claim that Ricky is "one dimensional."
As for your claim that he may get another belt in a six round fight, I think that's not only a snide and unfair comment, I also feel it is uneducated and ignorant. At 140, Ricky's bread and butter is his workrate over twelve rounds. Hamed lost once then came back, without motivation and retired. You can be guaranteed Ricky will come back motivated and certainly win a title at 140.
As I alluded to earlier, poor posting by you. I also suspect that you were trying to get me into an argument and believe me you don't want that. Thanks for trying tho...
Well he could have thrown more punches as he came in instead of bullying his way in with no plan. And after the second round it was obvious that the referee would not allow him to just force his way in with no punch outage. So he entered the fight with a big heart but left his skills and brain in the training room. The ony credit IO see others giving him is for being game.. (Meat on a hook)

I myself have expressed my annoyance that Ricky hasn't thrown punches to "work his way in". However this is not a recent problem, it has been an issue since the Maussa fight and has a large part to play for the Collazo debacle.
As I've alsio said earlier such a monumental fight got to Ricky and he abandoned strategy (as he did in the Maussa fight.) However this is absolutley no reason to brand Ricky one dimensional or lacking in skill. It is however reason to applaud Mayweathert for well executed antidote to Hattons aggresive style.
