That's a shit excuse. Floyd could have said that to Hatton. If every fighter in the dominant position took that stance there'd be no fights.

I wouldn't mind seeing Hatton vs Paulie or Witter vs Hatton, i think Witter does deserve the shot more but i wouldn't mind if he fought Paulie either.

The only way I could see it being sensable for Hatton to take this fight would be if he knew it would be his last and wanted to go out with a big payday

Put him in the ring with an Olivera or another fighter at the level of his early fights and you'll see endless volume from Hatton. You just can't do that against somebody with Floyd's speed.

US networks won't be interested in putting a Witter fight on free, never mind PPV. Witter-Hatton doesn't work economically because US TV won't buy it. It's not going to happen.

How about Hatton versus Kendall Holt? Everyone's trying to throw Ricky in there with a champ or a top tier fighter, but maybe the guy needs to rebuild his confidence a little first. Holt's a slick guy, quick, but has failed on the big stage and is prone to fading late. Just the right guy for Hatton to jump on top of, not a bum by any stretch, but not a guy who's going to tear his head off, either.

I think Paulie could give Hatton a lot of problems with his handspeed and boxing ability.

Paulie even if he wanted to fight ricky after his mandatory probs wont come together till mid to late '08 tbh he has a mandatory and a rematch to fullfil against Ndou so.. if hatton doesnt think he has racked up another victory worth fighting him for now he wont have had the chance next year.. But without pauliefighting ricky he will most likely have a bout with Dhop instead which would also be interesting..

Im not sure on this one.. Paulie fought a 160 pound miguel cotto and withstood alot of fire power in that fight and im not sure ricky could offer the same stuff to paulie..

And paulie having taken his fair share of rounds from cotto in theyr fight i feel like he sticks to his gameplan more in a bout with hatton

But at the same time since paulie hasnt the power to keep ricky off him ricky just needs to keep busy and stop paulie from looking good, By smothering him.. The guy has like 14 kids aswell..About 7 of his own and 7 from his deceased brother so he has enough on his plate with having to put enough on everyone elses plate.. And thats why he still fights, Legacy has long gone out the window for Corley..

And corley has lost his last three bouts, One was witter by decision, Followed by two losses to unknown fighters, One by stoppage! Hes so far over the hill he even offered jack and jill a hand (LAMEE ;D) lol

And Viv harris, Good guy, bit of a underachiever but damn.. he still got Ko'd by Maussa

Mussa is shit, Plain shit :P :D

So all we have is this.. Ndou.. Both beat him good.. Okay They even

But on top of this we have a hearty skillful tough performance against miguel cotto who is a proven fuckingg badass :P and paulie took rounds from the guy when he was all shook up undefeated in his first ever world title fight cut and off his gameplan.. He didnt even use his bread and butter and box.. He traded and tried not to get hit too often..

And then theres a game cherry, On your side, Yes he is most definately a lightweight..But in all fairness paulie isnt much more then a lightweight himself..

Good comeback fight for Hatton. Malignaggi is good at using his legs and handspeed but Hatton should have that much trouble catching up with him. Once he gets in Paulie isn't actually all that technically skilled defensively when he's not moving.

BTW, anybody who actually thinks Malignaggi deserves a shot more than Witter is either Paulie's mom or borderline retarded. It's debatable if Malignaggi deserves a big fight at all. But he's a reasonable and acceptable fight for Hatton coming back down and coming off a KO loss.

Cherry is a lightweight (as you admitted). He's not ranked in the top 10 at EITHER 135 OR 140 by any alphabet or by The Ring rankings.

You can't keep knocking the worth of former "world" champions and dismiss former "world" title challengers and a current European champion if all you've got is a "game" Edner - borderline journeyman - Cherry. ;)

I don't see why Cherry being a lightweight is marks against Malignaggi, Mayweather was a super featherweight and he lay Hatton's ass out ;)

This will be a great fight, due to PM's lighter shots, Hatton could almost abandon d and take shots to give hard ones. He will be fighting to get in on PM's jab, Paulie will circle and jab all night if you let him. Paulie's chin is sturdy so bodywork should be his focus, Paulie has great movement but is hittable on the inside and wont be able to handle Hatton like Floyd did(IMO). Still up in the air on this one right now its about a 60/40 fight leaning towards Hatton. PM is a very live dog in this one.

Good timing especially as Malignaggi has been dissing Hatton by saying he don't like getting hit.
