That is correct.
El Cholo which was his original nickname from childhood which comes from the streets. For the most part a 'Cholo' means 'Thug' and or street tough guy. Being that Duran was from the streets of Panama he was nicknamed that.
Rocky was also a nickname given and used by him more famously seen in his Black & Gold robe he used a couple of times.
CC#33 and thanks for taking the time to participate.

Good question which I don't know the answer to, but would be great to know the truth.
Maybe a little search will give us the answer. I'll have a look when I get the chance.

Re: ~ It's Trivia Time! ~ Come and give it a try.... ------ >>>>
Well then here are the answers to questions 5 & 8.
5) What do Jorge Paez Sr. & Alex 'Terra' Garcia have in common?
Answer: They both been KO'd by a punch while the ref. was calling for a break. It happened to Jorge Paez whe he was fighting Silverio Ortiz the ref. called break and brought up his hands and Silverio let off a devastating left hook that dropped Paez like a rag doll. The ref. counted Paez out and declared Silverio the winner. In the post fight interview Paez expressed himself to the comission by saying and I quote "The comission can suck my d!ck I can't belive they are letting this by". Paez fought the decision and had it over turned later as the comission felt that the blow was unintentional but at the same time it wasn't a fair punch so they went to the scorecards and Paez was ahead he was declared the winner via SD. 'Terra' Garcia wasn't so lucky when he fought Travis Simms the same scenario a ref. break Garcia lowered his hands and bam! left hook from Simms the ref. counted Garcia out and the call stood.
8 ) In 2003 what linked baseball legend Pete Rose with the sport of Boxing?
Answer: Believe it or not (I didn't) but baseball legend Pete Rose was elected into the "Summit County (Ohio) Boxing Hall Of Fame". Yes you read that shit! right a Boxing Hall of Fame for no other reason then him being good friends with promoter Don Elbaum and that Pete was gonna be hsi company to the induction ceremony. The people at the Hall of Fame felt that they needed to honor 'Charlie Hustle' in some way and inducting him is how they felt it would be best.
So there they are the 2 questions that were left un-answered. Thanks to everyone for participating....

Well NC, the 'Terra' Garcia vs. Simms fight was on the undercard of the BIGGEST card that was put together in 2003. On the undercard of Hopkins vs. Joppy that night KingVision aired I blieve like 8 fights. This was one of them. I remember when Simms threw the hook and Garcia went down I said he's gonna get DQ'd but nope the call stood. If you run a quick search on Paez you'll find that the same thing happened to him.

I thought that there was a different fight mentioned not the Simms fight from Garcia's past
that was overturned. I'll check boxrec.
