Wont' say too much as the fight is still sposed to be a ways away.... But i honestly wouldn't be at all surprised if Judah stops Williams... He could get stopped himself if PW can keep him outside, but otherwise I'm not sure how Paul will do.

Re: Margarito to face Judah in March?
I can not see Zab touching Paul he out out box him with that reach all day PW would win by a landside decision he win every round of the fight.

I would Williams has took flush punches off hard hitting opponents like Antonio Margarito, Walter Dario Matthysse,
Judah couldn't stop 2 journeyman fighters in his last two fights. The only way Judah wins is if he gets to Williams early which i very much doubt that happens, so i don't give Judah much of a chance against fighter like Williams.

Re: Margarito to face Judah in March?
This fight is happening very late, like my boy Mick said. The time for this was when Tony had the WBO title and Zab the other titles. However, better late than never,I guess Tony and his camp though(and rightfully so) that he would get more credit for beating Judah than JLC.
Judah will be the fastest fighter Tony has faced but I think and would be hugely dissappointed if he didn't,wins by ko.Too big,too strong and too much for Zab.Should also help to make Tony more of a draw and he should be hyped for the fight as Zab has denied him shots at the true WW title on quite a few occasions.
-
Re: Margarito to face Judah in March?
FWIW, Dan Rafael of espn.com (whose info I trust) said this fight is nothing but a rumor. Zab's hand is still injured, he can't train, and there's no way he's ready for a March bout.
-
Re: Margarito to face Judah in March?
FWIW? What's that bro? I think as long as Tony fights, stays active and looks good in order to fight Cotto,I'm happy. Fighting 3 times next year would be quite an achievement for Tony¬!

Why is Judah always brought into the equation?? Whats he done in the last few years ???

Well for Tony,it would be the best fight out there, especially as all the other big names appear to be tied up. And Margarito would be fighting him when he's coming off 2 wins!I mean everyone else fought the guy when he was coming off losses!

Sad thing is, Tony will probably get no credit beating Zab if they do fight and he does win. Alot will say he is shot and just a name; though it seems that has been the case for a while now anyways, but Tony will hear the brunt of it. Still, a known name and one Tony can get serious exposure with, and a dangerous opponent when all is said and done, though I do believe he's already a has been. Tony losing to Zab could ruin his career, and maybe vice-versa. I would be amazed if Zab took this fight. Will bet Zab tries to fight Clottey or Cintron before going at it with Tony.

Basically Judah is getting his shot's all the time for being a good loser.

So we have Cotto/Clottey?
This should be an interesting match up.
Those Africans are tough as nails.
This would then set up a fight between Margarito/Cotto?
YES!
Then Cotto/Williams
and then Run Floyd Run!
Cotto is the real Welter Weight KING!
Floyd will defend his belt against another junior welter weight? Or Will he move up and try to fight ODLH @ 154 again? I see Floyd vacating the welter weight belt.
That reminds me, I need to buy some chicken feed.
Wow. You don't waste an opportunity, do you?
Everytime I mention your boyfriends name are you going to say something about it? Man you defend him just as much as brazilianbomber does. You and him should get on MSN and phone bone while talking about how great you think PBF is. LMAO!
Danny you would have had a chuckle today mate. A friend called my house telling me that Floyd was fighting MMA. I told him that Floyd will take up cricket before he fights Cotto!

Re: Margarito to face Judah in March?
This has just a bit of predictability to it like most Zab fights.
Could Judah stop him early? Possibly, not very likely though.
Most likely he has some moments early but then eventually goes into a shell, throwing occasional single power shots in the hopes that something lands and wins him the fight. Meanwhile Margarito gets stronger and stronger, throwing more shots, either winning a decision with a late KD or gets a late stoppage.

I'd love to see Tony finish Zab early and look REALLY good.

;D There will be a point, many I believe, Where Judah will have to be ABLE to stand in close with Margarito. To much power pressure and impossing Angles for Judah.Great fight for Tony. There is no doubt Tony will look to walk him down and aside from a few spots early,I think Judah gets pasted. He can not hurt Margarito.

Zab has the potential to hurt Tony early on, but not severely enough to stop him coming. Once he sees Tony is there for the long haul, Zab will fold up like a doodlebug and like you said, will get pasted something criminal. I hope it happens. I've been wanting this one to happen for a while 8)
Nice to see Christmas came early and you regained your identity Spicoli.... ;D

It'll be superb to see(IF the fight gets made) how Margarito handles Judah's handspeed. It'll be the fastest fighter he has been in with by some margin,6 Heads and Martinez being the only other decent speed fighters he's faced. It'll be interesting but anything less than a Marg knockout would be disspointing.

"Doodlebug" ? like a rolly polly? Like an empty soda can under a boot no doubt.Yeh,My S.T.D is all healed up finally just in time for The Holidays.Ya gotta watch what you pick up in these clubs these days ;D That was a long 2 weeks ::** Gotta watch those name bets.
I think Judah will get in some sharp ones but do not think he can dent Tony.Forget the slow starts from Margarito,In this one he Is looking to Immpose himself and demand respect.Hope it Happens.

Definately, the speed is going to cause early problems, but I see Tony absolutely smothering this guy, but he will take some shots. I can even see Tony getting put down on the canvas, but he won't stay down. I would be disappointed as well if it ended in anything other than a k.o., but I can see it happening through some intense body work from Tony. I hope we aren't wasting time talking about this fight; as I would be somewhat shocked to see it get made.

Speed is power but Latley Judah is paying high taxes for those shots. He will be reaching in all night,I dont think he'll be able to dart in or out.His early angles vs. Cotto were great.Really had Cotto lurching and off step but Tonys size and arsenal of variety punches will slow and effect Judah big.Judah not the speedster as of late and seems to fade and sits down more.No way do I see Him dropping Tony. Thinking Mack Vs. Iron head andrade? That whipping not seen punch "flash".Hmmmm. Good call on the body Legion,He kills body.
-
Re: Margarito to face Judah in March?
Believe it or not that's exactly what I was thinking, Mack/Andrade. Tony coming in a little too excited like and maybe getting off balance and getting put on the floor. Not so much because of the power, just getting caught off balance. Probably won't happen, but I could see him getting overanxious and getting knocked over. He'll win regardless. He better, or it will put a serious hurt on his career IMO.

In some ways, yes. Zab isn't an elite guy, but he has proven that when he has a big fight, he will show up in-shape, and when he's in-shape he can give top fighters a real run for their money.
I don't see how anyone could watch Cotto-Judah and feel like Judah didn't belong there. It was a great fight that was highly competitive. People ripped Floyd for fighting Judah even after Zab lost to Baldomir, but Zab gave Floyd a much more competitive fight than Baldomir did.
People keep whining about Zab getting chances (not you ICB, just in general), but does anyone doubt that Margarito-Judah would be an exciting fight?

Totally disagree early rounds were competitive but after about 3rd or 4th round it was one sided fight. And Judah got battered from pillar to post.

I like watching Judah fight but i do think he gets chances when he doesn't deserve them. The last good fighter he beat was Cory Spinks in 2005.

Re: Margarito to face Judah in March?
Who besides the very very best is Cotto not going to beat pillar to post? I think he deserves B+ competition every now and then.

Cotto was winning almost every round after the 3rd, but it was a hardly one-sided battering. And I bet Miguel Cotto would be the first one to tell you that. He openly admitted that Zab stunned him, including once or twice in the late rounds when you're claiming that Zab was just getting battered around.
Cotto was clearly the better man and that's why he eventually won by TKO, but that was a very competitive fight, and Zab clearly proved that night that he deserves to be an opponent in future notable fights.
It's not like Zab is getting another crack at the world title here.... we're talking about ANTONIO MARGARITO. If there were talks right now for Floyd-Zab II, then I could understand people complaining about Zab not deserving a shot.
But we're talking about Antonio Margarito here.

I don't see what that has got to do with Judah getting chances he doesn't deserve. There are at least 5 or 6 names at Welterweight that would be competitive with Cotto. I admire boxers who fight the best but Judah's record at Welterweight is 5-4 and 1 no contest, every time he has stepped up to fight the elite fighters, he has lost except to Spinks but thats was in 2005. But Margarito vs Judah im happy with because Margarito lost to Williams and he is looking to build his rep up again and beating Judah is a good confidence booster.

Judah would catch Cotto a few times with good punch but Cotto would walk right through Judah's punches. IMO it was one sided after 3rd round, Judah went into a shell only throwing a low out put of punches like he always does. Im not saying Judah didn't hurt Cotto, he did stun him quite a lot in early going. And a few times after 3rd round but after 4th round. I knew the fight was over i could see Cotto closing the distance and really punishing Judah on the inside, Cotto would get caught flush a few times but he was walking right through Judah's punches. And it didn't seem to have no effect in fact the only punch that was really stunning Cotto was that sneaky uppercut. Just take a look at Judah's face he got punished badly physically his eye was closed he was cut, he basically looked like he had been smashed into a brick wall.
-
Re: Margarito to face Judah in March?
I agree with you all. I agree that Cotto didn't win a completely one sided affair. However who is Cotto NOT going to beat. That was what I am getting at.

And Cotto's lip and eye were bleeding like crazy too. It was a rough physical fight where both guys sustained a lot of damage.
Again, I would challenge anyone to tell me how Judah's performance that night indicated that he wasn't worthy of future opportunities against a guy like Antonio Margarito.

Margarito-Judah was previously pitched by Top Rank to Showtime, who turned it down and instead televised the Tarver-Santiago tripleheader. Initially, it was being reported that Margarito would face Jose Luis Castillo in an obvious mismatch, but that appears to be off. Steve Kim of AUTO MESSAGE: The webmaster of this site has requested that we do not use any content from it.... please delete this post says Judah is current opponent being discussed for the fighter known as the Tijuana Tornado.
If sources are correct, Margarito-Judah would be a co-feature to a tentative bout between WBA welterweight champion Miguel Cotto and Joshua Clottey (should he beat Shamone Alvarez). If Margarito and Cotto win, they would collide in either May or June.
Interesting fight. I think the only question is, can Margarito destroy Judah faster than Cotto did?
AHAHAHAHAHAH
