Hell yeah thats what I'm talkin bout.
After Calzaghe wins he'll be telling us that he only won because Hopkins is 43 and that Calzaghe wouldn't have beaten a prime Hopkins.
Obviously he wouldn't have beaten a prime Hopkins. And he won't beat a 43 year old B-hop either.
So you think Hopkins WILL pull out to fight the winner of RJJ v Tito then I assume?

Be interesting to see what happens in both fights
Because if Hopkins and Jones wins,Jones becomes a name again, and Bernard has allways has wanted to avenge that loss

And Calzaghe would have beaten Hopkins at any point in their careers. That's why Hopkins bottled out of fighting Calzaghe a few years ago.

Re: Hopkins - Calzaghe "signed by next week"
Joe Calzaghe is the shit, I know that now, he has beat everyone put infront of him. but Hopkins isn't everyone! He knows how to win fights and seems to do so! Hopkins by SD

Re: Hopkins - Calzaghe "signed by next week"
im pretty sure Calzaghe will win this one convincingly, however there will be alot of tricky moments becuase B-HOP knows EVERY trick in the book and JC cant let it effect his boxing. Honestly i understand why this fight is happening and all that but i mean bhop is 42 or whatever, so this win shouldnt be overated if JC gets it that is.

Re: Hopkins - Calzaghe "signed by next week"
I WAS a big B-Hop fan until those stupid comments were made. That's the only thing Hopkins can seem to do anymore is talk up a big fight.Than throw less than 30 punches a round and say "I won that fight".It's getting old and repetitive.Calzaghe will probably give something he has never had a "boxing lesson".Calzaghe will easily outbox and out punch the old and slow low punch output Hopkins into retirement once and for all.Sorry B-Hop but your all through my man.
-
Re: Hopkins - Calzaghe "signed by next week"
If those comments made you quit bein a Hopkins fan, then you're an idiot.

Apparantly you werent that much of a Hopkins fan
Against Wright, what was he supposed to do,tire himself out against a guy widely considered to be one of the best defensive fighters in the buisness?
He outworked Tarver by far

You were a little late to the party if you started to like him around the boring ass Taylor fights. Why did you like him in the first place? His all action style and golden boy image?

Re: Hopkins - Calzaghe "signed by next week"
What's up your ass buddy.I always knew he was around and I just didn't like him that much until his fight with Taylor.I mean is that ok with you my friend.

Anyone even considering that Joe C fighting outside of his comfort zone in Las Vegas may have an effect on his performance?

It would be naive not to consider it could affect him.
Why do you think Hopkins point-blank refused to leave his comfort zone? Home advantage is always an advantage ( ::**).
And some guys don't travel well. Look at Naz.

I think u miss the point. This was not discussing who should travel, and who should not,(that has been done to death). i was asking if u thought that it would effect Joe.

Re: Hopkins - Calzaghe "signed by next week"
I'm just saying that most English fighters have gone to America. Even if they have eventually lost
Joe would be fine I think

Unless he's demanding that the fight be at the Borgata, the Linc,Core States or the Blue Horizon you have not one ounce of understanding of the states
And being as he isnt demanding any of those venues........................
Get a clue, here's a free one,its over 2000 miles between Philadelphia and Las Vegas
Heres another, Philadelphia and New York loathe each other, the Welshman would have a better shot in NYC

It would be naive not to consider it could affect him.
Why do you think Hopkins point-blank refused to leave his comfort zone? Home advantage is always an advantage ( ::**).
And some guys don't travel well. Look at Naz.

yeah yeah yeah
Don't start boring me with this shit again.
Old Hopkins is an American.
Las Vegas is in America.
New York is in America.
Wales is not in America.
Old Calzaghe will be a foreigner.
A|nd that's all she wrote. Fact.

Re: Hopkins - Calzaghe "signed by next week"
I little off topic but one thing I have always wondered was fighters on the east coast coming to the west to fight at say, Mandalay Bay well, there is a 3 hour difference. So when the fight starts at maybe around 8:00 Mountain time, it is 11:00 eastern time. When a fighter is used to getting up at 5:00 in the morning do to roadwork then do there main training at 3:00 in the afternoon and to be in bed no later than 9:00 or so, then fight night comes and they are fighting at 11:00 at night. I think that would take something out of you whether you noticed it or not no matter how hyped or focused one may be. Joe Calzaghe I guess would be fighting at around 3:00 in the morning then. Maybe that's the real reason why Hopkins wants to fight in New York. ;D

He effectively fought abroad a dozen times before he fought Eubank for the world title. He faced an English crowd and their gentle behaviour a dozen times which is like Hopkins fighting a dozen times in Mexico before he fought for the world title. Since then he defended his title abroad twice, once in Germany, and there's a history of violence there too.
Joe's fans are going to outnumber Bernard's like Ricky's did Floyd's. British fans sing too and there'll be a band over there as well, so it's going to be a British football ground atmosphere. Hopkins is just taking the fight for the biggest-possible final payday.

From a markatability standpoint,hell yes
Something about a group of soccer hooligans booing a national anthem tends to throw people off. And its not exactly like Joe can draw flies here in the states TV wise as it allready is
