Surely 'god' would have used something more enticing than apples to tempt them with. Candy floss or doughnuts or something maybe.

"Apples"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think we are ever told that the fruit that Adam and Eve ate were apples. It was the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The temptation was not just the fruit, but the ability to know what God knows.
God was not the one doing the tempting, either, although He allowed it. If you want to read a great story about real temptation, try the book of Job.
Temptation is not just to try to get people to do something wrong. Our trials are to see if we will stay with God no matter what, and He never allows the trials to be more than we can bear, as long as we do stick with Him. Job lost everything he had, but never turned his back on God, although he did question Him about why these things were happening. In the end, Job passed the test, and was given twice what he lost. Just something to think about.

thank you for that insight....
FYI on the simpsons, the fruit was a red apple and Ned was god so that's why i thought it was an apple. My mistake.
How come we are never told what the fruit is? To make it feel like a cliffhanger or just because it's irrelevant?
What's the book of job and where would i find it?
Is it fiction or non fiction?
Thanks
Ono
Ono you are one funny bastard but you got me BARRREDDDD bro, I'm desperate to hail abuse on there now

Haha we have a semi pissed of respone on yahoo answers.
Cause of fury = X's question.
X's question = If Adam and Eve were the first humans created, and they had two sons (Cain and Abel) ........ how did they have children unless they slept with their mother?
Pissed off response
It is stupid question when you saż ''unless they slept with
their mother?
You could have said, "unless they slept with their sisters?
That would be a genuine question.
Here is the answer:
To increase population God gave Eve twins in every delivery - a boy and a girl. The boy and girl born together as twins were real brother and sister. They could not be married to each other. They had to marry the boys and girls from the other sets of twins. This was the Law God gave for the children of Adam and Eve. There were no other children on earth except the children of Adam. This was the only way for Adam to marry his all children.
I have explained this at least three time in last three months.
I don't undersand why such questions are asked over an over.
Caine loved his sister born with him as twin. According to the law God gave to Adam, Adam couldn't marry Caine with his twin sister. His Sister was spoken for Abel. Therefore in anger Caine killed Abel and then had to flee the area where Adam and his children lived. Since Adam and Eve lived over thousand years, their sons and daughters made lots of families and moved away as families got bigger. Caine must have found wife from the descendents of some other twins of Adam and Eve and married her which was normal.
Most of the stories of Old Testament are not 100% accurate. Lots of these are written by Rabis and religious men born lot later after Moses died. It is mistake considering every word in Old Testament as word of God. What you read are translations. Word of God was only what Moses wrote or dictated some one to write word to word messages of God as soon as messages were delivered to Moses from God and that is avaiable now in original language.
The Arabic text is Word of God. We do not consider English translation as a word of God. It contains words of translators

Fruit
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I guess it is just fruit, whatever kind of fruit was on the tree of knowledge. I suppose since the tree is gone, we wouldn't recognize the fruit today.
Here is a link if you want to read about Job
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/...b;&version=31;
It is in the Bible, so if you ask me, it is non-fiction. (you did ask me)

Non-fiction
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Non-fiction is not made up. So it is true.
No problem, you are not a pest at all. If you have questions, ask away!
BTW, I think the Simpsons are funny.

A warning to you though Ono, you may be laughing now thinking what a great windup it is to take the piss out of the Church, but just wait until they find out where you live and they turn up at your door wanting to welcome you into their loving fellowship :D
That would be a very proud day indeed....Quote:

God vs Allah
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi everyone
so i'm a really big boxing fan aswell as a church go-er.
so i thought it would be fun to combine the 2 and start a light hearted thread.
My question to you guys is 'who would have won if God had fought Allah in a boxing match?'
The way i see it going is......God uses his speed and keeps his stronger opponent of him and wins a close but fair unanimous decision.
If it went to the judges scorecards do you think their religious beliefs would come into play? Surely a Jewish judge would show bias toward God and a Muslim judge would maybe favour Allah.
David vs Goliath could even be on the undercard.
Thoughts....
Thanks, Ono
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
thanks to mick and rhun for the idea
Flippin heck....David v Goliath on the undercard? Is this a Don King promotion, cause I want tickets!!! I'm going Goliath 1st round KO.
Yeh i'm putting £100 on the big guy as well.Quote:

what? God is the creator of the Universe maker of everything there is only one God. there is no comparison or VS of any kind. Satan tried that with God and was kicked out of heaven. So what should that tell you? since the most powerful being besides God is Satan

So you think it would be a mis-match?
Cain vs Abel could also be on the undercard as it would be similar to the Klitschko's squaring off with one another.
I agree with you that God would win.
Quick Ono...accuse him of being a Satan lover since he praised him!!!!
yea he kind of laid it out there for you..... Walker is a very defensive chap isint he ;D
But he is correct on that one

At the Ricky Hatton fights we sing a very similar song
It goes...(join in if you know the words)
There's only one Ricky Hatton
One Ricky Hatton
Walking along.....
Singing a song...
Walking in a Hatton wonderland
Are you sure your not showing a little bit of bias toward satan?
Do you think he was more powerful than Goliath?
Yeh he is very defensiveQuote:
