Re: Heath Ledger found dead
Boxing is what I live for. I don't think that is so strange. I save money to go to a fight, I want a career so I can go to many fights. I wait for my Ring magazine.
And I think everyone on here pays WAY more respect to someone who lays there life on teh line for our enjoyment........and might end up broke anyway.

Well I am sure anyone getting ready to off themselves is not in exactly the right frame of mind. And alot of times they claim it is a cry for helpp? :-\ Or he might of thought he would get a good massage in before he went......that sounds logical to me.

If your that intent on it,do it in a way that wont scar someone else who has nothing to do with it

Re: Heath Ledger found dead
This totally fucking sux that he's dead...
I don't care if anyone else didn't like him that much
I loved him in movies even if he wasn't the greatest actor in the world... He was a good freakin Aussie (can't say much for the others that try their hand in hollywood)
And finally, when I saw he was playing the Joker in Batman, I was fucking wrapt... It would be an awesome role for him, a departure from the characters he usually plays, good guys, where the viewer is supposed to grow an attachment to him... This would have been a great step in his career and taken him into a whole new league..
I'm very pissed off to see him go.... Their are worse people in the world that I should have died a thousand times over from all the shit they carry on with *cough* paris *cough*...
RIP Heath

dude, no kidding.. we're not fucking weeping and crying and planning a memorial service, relax.. we're just acknowledging his death, and it's sad that a talent like his is no longer with us.. The same way we'd be sad about reading in the paper, or seeing on the news that a father of 5 tragically died by getting into a car accident..
we know people die everyday, and i'd feel the same emptiness towards them.. so what is your point?
statistics of how many people die everyday isn't necessary, honestly.. those were completely necessary when Anna Nicole Smith died though considering it was on every news channel for about 2 weeks.. now THAT was ridiculously carried away..
But your post is that of the obvious and irrelevant to this topic.. If I posted on here that my (hypothetical) brother died, would you come and post "BIG DEAL people die everyday".. i don't think so.. maybe Bilbo, but i'd expect nothing less from him ;D
The post served a purpose as proved by you among others replying to it. It was also following on from other posts heading in a certain direction. The statistics are quite telling.
The intention wasn't "big deal a celeb is dead" or to upset anyone. :)

nah, i read that it was a "routine appointment".. he didn't call her so she'd find him.. they said he couldn't sleep at night and was dealing with anxiety and the like.. whether or not he did it at this time so that maybe if they found him early enough he could be saved, we'll never know.. but he didn't purposely call her to find him, it seemed like a daily/weekly thing.. to clarify.

I'm not hoping, I was just saying Missy you morbid little minx
Also it could have been an accidental OD, he didn't seem like the kind of person to off himself whereas Kurt Cobain DID seem like someone who would kill himself.
TrainerMonkey everyone has their rough patches and yeah when it all boils down to it not many of us will be affected by Heath Ledger's death....I just find it surprising is all. No one is expecting you to drop everything and feel worse for him and his family than you would feel if it happened in your family or to someone you actually know....infact if that happened I would worry about your mental health. Depression is tough to deal with, I should know because I have also had serious bouts of depression some where I wasn't getting sleep and I lost 46 pounds in a little less than 2 months and it was very hard to drag myself out of it but I have a good support system, but anyway I hope everything ends up working out for you TM

Hey depression happens, but unlike him,you or I dont have a "Drop everything to get help" option.Sorry setting up the appointment so the massuese can find his body is where he lost my sympathy.
-
Re: Heath Ledger found dead
The massuese didn't find him.....his maid did.....I don't know if that makes it better but hey if I could afford one I'd have one too.
There comes a point with depression where you MUST drop everything and get help but it's way down the road.
I just think this was just all an accident and it's tragic but it doesn't truly affect me or you the way it would if it happened to a close friend or family member.
But I do understand you're point of view.....but you'd have to agree the paparazzi are a great annoyance and could drive someone insane, I know I couldn't handle it people driving cars crazy as hell and hiding in trees and stuff just to get a fucking picture, it's crazy. Everyone has stress in their life but some just either deal with it better or simply have less of it
-
Re: Heath Ledger found dead
Both found him,she had just gone in to tell him that the masseuse had arrived
Hey could have been accidental,in which case,it happens all the time, shame I know, but I lost 3 friends last year to accidentals,so I cant be that broken up by a guy I never knew
-
Re: Heath Ledger found dead
I completely understand, I've lost a couple friends to suicide over the past year or two so I get where you are coming from.

You called me a minx. Are we flirting now ;D have a cc
Depression can show itself in many forms and not everyone one can speak out. If people intervene it may not help, like a drug addiction, you can only sort yourself out when you are ready to and some people just can't work their shit out at any point.
Imagine everytime you set foot out the door they're there, actually they don't always have to be, some knacker with a zoom is just as bad. People going through your garbage. People round you tipping them off when you go to the store/holiday/restaurant, so you wonder who to trust. Everyone you're photographed with is 'romantically linked' to you whether they are or not. Imagine explaining those pics to your other half. Them going out of there way to wind you up just to get a reaction shot & then sue you. Everyone one of these slimes deserves to get punched in the face. No offence :)
It would do my head in.
No wonder so many end up mental cases.
I still think accidental OD till I read otherwise.

He had already completed his part in Batman so the movie will still be released. I think all filming has been done and it's just in the editing now.
I dont know if he OD'd by accident or it was purposeful, but either way no one knows how much he was suffering. I always got the vibe he was a "good" person. Many times introspective/sensitive people are more prone for depression and escapism than those who live very superficial, "me-driven" lives.
But it is also very possible it could have been an accidental overdose. Though having used sleeping pills myself somewhat recreationally a few times in the past I can say it does not give the desired effect that would make someone want to abuse them regularly. But they are also the kind of thing if you take a few you can end up taking 10 more without even realizing it. Strange drug benzos are, I am surprised they are still legal and so commonly prescribed in the US.

Best publicity that the Batman film could ever have got. In fact if I was a Producer I would always arrange for one of my stars to die in a mysterious accident .... (?)
Plus, come on guys 'how much he was suffering/ the artist as victim/ hand wringing shit about all this .... he either was too thick to work out a correct dose or he was weak. American Hollywood actors do not 'suffer' in the accepted sense of the word.

X acting is a very taxing job, not taxing in how my job or your job or any regular job is taxing but it takes a toll being someone else all day, it's emotionally draining and then if you're successful you're hounded by the fucking paparazzi. Re: Heath Ledger found dead
I've been almost dead broke, living with a friend in his parents garage eating nothing but cookies for about 3 months cookies only no milk and I had bills, expenses and problems.
I've managed to turn my life around and move forward I now do very well for myself I accomplished one of my dreams which was to do television I go where I want and when I want. I go to any boxing event that I want and live it up and I continue to strive I have MORE bills, MORE expenses and MORE problems.
We are humans BUT we tend to forget that in reality we are creatures our thoughts and feelings tend to change from time to time.
Today I'm happy, tommorrow I wake up for some strange reason I'm in not soo good of mood.
I get to work and some cock sucker doesn't fucken see Management on the parking space and still parks there my ass has to park down the street. But then as I'm at work I open my e-mail and my girl sent me a message letting me know we're gonna hit up a club on the weekend so it's on and poppin' suddenly I'm cool now I'm not upset anymore......
I come home later on that day and my aunt calls me that one of my cousins got into some trouble now I feel down, then I call my grandma and shes not getting any younger now I'm fucken sad and almost in tears. Right before I go to bed my girl calls me up or comes by and we talk and she spends the night now I'm happy.
Lifes a rollercoaster ride, our thoughts, feelings and emotions tend to change daily on certain things.
Everyday life can become too much for some now imagine adding money, fame and everything else that comes along with being a celebrity can just over flow your mind, heart & soul.
Peace, Love & Respect,
Mick :)

Re: Heath Ledger found dead
I dont think he commited suicide, it was probably accidental, maybe a lil to loosen him up before the masseuse got there. How depressed could you be when your about to get a massage?

Re: Heath Ledger found dead
Grab a large chunk of cheese, some strawberries, and a really good beer, now go climb a mountain.
As you sit there stairing out across what seems like eternity, sweating like a pig, gasping in the thin air, everything will swim in to view
Once that happens, take a really good bite of the cheese,I recomend Bleu(but hey thats me)savour it,now take a slow bite of the strawberry, really take the time to savour it as well, then take a swig of the micro brew you brought with you
Life is meant to be lived, how you can avoid it with all the means on earth to do it with,is beyond me

Im just about to step in to the realm of unpopularity with some on this comment.
Because we belive we are what we think, instead of beliving or being brought up to belive that we are more than our thoughts; our emotions run off of our thought process instead of the reverse way around so you would have complete control over your brain and what it thinks. You use it as a tool instead of it using you as one.:)
At first, originally; you choose what you get to a large degree including the choice to allow yourself to become depressed.
I dont think many choose consiously to continue it on though, but its too late to return to normal,
because i belive the brain gets addicted to the cemicals its makes and the nuro links its forms very fast and sometimes falling into depression is naturally easier than the other options once your at that point and the links are already formed around the emotion.
Worse its a secret until it becomes natural and then its still disguised behind normal actions.
I also belive its on the increase because people are being robbed of natural joy through unnatural processess around us,many electrical, bombarding us externally so that we get caught up in it all and we learn it all fast, then we search for everything including happiness, joy, love outside of ourselves firstly, instead of it being the last step and only used for added enjoyment.
We live for the external love of others or something else of choice and when its taken away which it always is eventually ,you only have yourself left standing in what i think is a divine space, others think of it as a hole and fall right in. Im yet to experience the absolute worse of it all personally, but Im in no fairy land type dream that its never going to happen.
-
Re: Heath Ledger found dead
....well Andre I can understand your views since you have "yet to experience the absolute worse of it all personally" it seems to the people who haven't experienced it that depression is "feeling sorry for yourself"....for the most part it's passed down genetically but some people just aren't able to deal with the troubles they have had in their lives be it one BIG issue or lots of lingering little issues.
It can begin by getting stuck in a rut with your life but if you have bad coping skills you can go downhill fast and for seemingly no reason.
-
Re: Heath Ledger found dead
Sorry Lyle,my mom had a nervous breakdown when I was 8 and tried to set the pair of us on fire. She's so unhinged that when I tried to let my kid talk to her on the phone unsupervised the other day he ended up in tears
A pretty boy actor who cant sleep because starring in a major picture "disturbed him" does not exactly pull at my heart strings

I have experienced depression to a large degree built up over years and then cummilating over a few days of spiralling down and down with no way up.
To be honest ,am Im not proud ,I havnet only just stared down the barrel of a gun held by someone else.
But what I ment by havent experienced it fully;
I meant that I know its inevitable that I'm going to loose every single thing that I love or like or the situation I'm in that I want to remain exactly as is but wont.
All things external of me I will loose, including all the people, I havent done so as yet and I wonder how I will go, depending on if it comes to pass in my passing or theirs.
Even with my views and belifes and ways out of getting trapped by thought, I still wonder how I will go facing it physically if it comes that way around.
