lol. They hoped for that but most Sunderland supporters expected them to do well with Allardyce as manager and Ashley`s cash.

Without knowing enough about these guys, looking through the form it must be between Rogan, Dolan and Kenna (unsurprisingly the top 3 in the betting) but the 3 rounds make it a lottery job.
Kenna's win over Julius Francis looks outstanding in this company ;D
I assume the winners names go back in the hat after the quarters?
Just seen Hills have the reserve Derek Chisora as 2/1 favourite ;D
Anyone got a list of odds?
There's nothing about the draw in your other posts, tel.. and nothing about a set draw structure so must go back in the hat
These are from Hills
Derek Chisora ( Reserve ) 2/1
David Dolan 5/2
Martin Rogan 3/1
Colin Kenna 4/1
David Ingleby ( Reserve ) 5/1
Dave Ferguson 7/1
Paul Butlin 10/1
Billy Bessey 12/1
Alex Ibbs 12/1
Darren Morgan 14/1

I completely agree rhun.. But for a guy that can't watch a sporting event without having a dosh interest fluking the winner of "prizefighter" is a must try ;D
Having a rethink.
Three round fights with the lure of £25,000 (most likely largest payday this lot will ever see) is surely going to make some of the lesser fighters REALLY go for it. It should be more tear-up merchant stuff than boxing. Who's the hardest banger....
Glyn Rhodes has the Best Heavyweight Prospect, should be out the end of May one to watch.
This will be entertaining!
quote=cpcompany;494992]People from Sunderland are expecting Dolan to walk this.[/quote]
Alright they mat!Are you backing DOLAN to win the Prizefighter Tournament like?I'am.He's 3-1 at the Coral book makers at the moment, but the prices are due to change tomorrow morning.Good price that like.Im thinking of putting a £5 on him.:)
Finally ive had confirmed the draw is set.
Dolan and Rogan (look safest picks) are in different halfs.. now for coin flip.
just checked with Matchroom & the format is as I thought from the draw list that allready posted on here the winners of the top two fights fight the first semi & the winners of the bottom two fights fight the other semi the winners of these fight the final which in my book makes david Dolan the winner ,well I hope so I just stuck a tenner on him
yeah you was right , tel ;)
What time it kickin off then?
Damm!I wish i was there man!Im going to miss the whole event man!!!!:eek:Im going to watch CHUBBY BROWN LIVE in Middlesbourgh instead from7:30pm!So i'll have to watch the Highlights i think.Good to know you've put money on Dolan mate!Im shotting some notes on him too!;DHe's at a good price at 3-1!
Which fighters meet in semis ?
This is how I see it going but I have been wrong before
HEAVYWEIGHT COMP SEMI FINAL
DAVE FERGUSON V BILL BESSEY * BILL BESSEY V MARTIN ROGAN *
ALEX IBBS V MARTIN ROGAN *
PAUL BUTLIN * V COLIN KENNA PAUL BUTLIN V DAVID DOLAN *
DAREN MORGAN V DAVID DOLAN *
FINAL
MARTIN ROGAN V DAVID DOLAN *
WINNER DAVID DOLAN
& I have got a tenner on Dolan
Hope you're right about the final.. ive backed BOTH Dolan and Rogan
(must point out it's terrible news for you guys backing Dolan (that Fenster's boc money is on him), chances are he'll either getted sparked-out by some freakish "lucky" punch or be cruising to victory only to end-up having to pull out injured.. you've been warned ;))
If this is the way it is seeded. Then I think
HEAVYWEIGHT COMP SEMI FINAL
DAVE FERGUSON V BILL BESSEY (Ferguson wins on pts)
ALEX IBBS V MARTIN ROGAN (Martin Rogan by Stoppage)
PAUL BUTLIN V COLIN KENNA (Colin Kenna on pts)
DAREN MORGAN V DAVID DOLAN (David Dolan on pts)
Ferguson v Rogan should be interesting with Rogan winning on pts
Kenna v Dolan (Dolan on pts)
So I agree with the final but not sure which way it goes, I have not seen Dolan and cannot find any footage. I watched Rogan v Radcliffe Green & Paul King on youtube. Rogan is a come forward pressure fighter that will jump on you if he sees you are hurt. If Dolan has good boxing skills he should be able to win on pts ? Is Dolan essentially a boxer or does he mix it, because to stand and trade with Rogan looks a mistake to me.
Unfortunately I do not have SkySports so I am just hoping it will be streamed on sopcast or TVU. If not maybe some here would be able to inform us whats happening ??
Telboy nearly had his prediction bang on in the tournament, which was really good viewing and the final between David Dolan and Martin Rogan was exceptionally exciting stuff, with both fighters landing big shots.
However, Dolan was knocked down in the first as Rogan got in and used his old-man-skills to hang on to Dolan's right arm then pound him with his own right, five hard shots before Dolan went down. After that, Dolan was chasing a bit, and won the second round, boxing well and outworking Rogan, who seemed to be tiring. However, the 3-round format suited the 36-year old Irishman, who went all out in the last round, flooring Dolan for a second time, and effectively ending the fight. With Dolan needing a KO, he went all-out for it, clipping Rogan with some exceptional shots, but not able to put him down.
Personally, although I missed the first two fights of the evening, it was an amazing night's boxing, and really competitive. We saw Rogan really do some great work, and although Dolan seemed to be able to deal with most things in his first two bouts, the early knockdown in the final really scuppered it for him.
When it comes to the Prizefighter, Rogan was a great winner and showed huge desire for it, however Dolan looks like he might convert his form to the longer rounds better, if he can avoid getting caught with big shots.
I had £10 on Dolan at 3/1 & £10 on Rogan at 9/2 so I am pleased with the result
Alright their U.K boxing fans!I really enjoyed the Prizefighter Tournament last night even known i missed the first two bouts due to watching Roy Chubby Brown Live in Middlesbourgh,"What a SCREAM!":lol:Anyhow when i got back into me home town(Hartlepool)afterwards and gearing up for me next pint of John Smiths:drinker:,"I had 6-7 by then",I ended up watching the rest of the tournament in a wine bar in town.About 3/4 of it.It was a great night for british boxing.I found the tournament very exciting"As i predicted it would!"The final was a great match up even known me local boy "Dolan"took two journeys to the canvas from BIG HEAVY shots.Damm!I had £5 on Dolan to win at 2/1....Nevermind.It was a great night, but im feeling kind of:-X:-X:-X:-Xat the moment after all of the beer i had!:-X:-\:-X:throwup:Im glad all of you enjoyed it!Keep your eyes and ears open for future events on the tournament, because there's talk on doing one in the Welterweight,Middleweights too!:box3::box3:
It was a terrific nights boxing & it was right that the fittest two guys got through to the final some of those taking part looked like they did their training over the road in the Dundee arms. Why is it that most heavyweights think road work is for other people.
Ferguson did'nt have a lot but it was to much for an out of condition Beesey
Ibbs was in well over his head with a fired up Rogan
Kenna seemed to think he only had to be there to win & got sparked in the second by Butlin
Morgan "the beast" at 19st the heavyest threaterned but had no answer to Dolan combinations
So to the semi finals
Ferguson v rogan Ferguson just did'nt throw enough punches & Rogan was not a man who was going to wait to be asked & ran out a worth points winner
Next up my pick Dolan against Butlin who could not find the ko punch from the first fight & spent the fight smiling when he got hit & falling short with his own attacks Dolan did enough to pick up the points
Now the final & what a final The atmosphere In the york hall was electric & the fight lived up to expectations it was never going to be a skillfull fight with Rogan the man who would not take a backward step forcing the fight & when he put Dolan down about halfway through the first it was not looking good for my tenner But Dolan fought back & in the second had his best round when he stood off a bit & put some combinations together.
coming to the last I felt that there was only the extra point for the knock down between them & indeed Dolan's better boxing seemed to be putting him in front, then rogan caught him put Dolan down & allthough he got up the writing was on the wall Rogan finished strong & was very worthy winner
Contratulations to him & to barry Hearn for putting on a great night
Cheers for the Rep mate!Yeah i was a little bit gutted that i missed the first two bouts of the tournament.I'll have to watch the beginnig again when it's highlighted on t.v.The CHUBBY BROWN show was FANTASTIC!Really really funny. He was a laugh a second.I recomend anyone to go and see him if you want a really good laugh.Mind you he was VERY BLUE!CHEERS CHUBBS YOU ARE LEGEND:bowdown:!A very very funny man who made me wet myself with laughter!A great night it was....Watching Chubbs then watching a top draw exciting British Tournament!ROGAN done really well and he deserved it.:appl::thankyouthankyou::appl:
GREAT was'nt it?I bet it was great being there was it mate?I lost a fiver on Dolan like.I've been in that position plenty of times.I lose on most of my bets now.I never used too,but lately i've been losing on me boxing bet, football bets as well.Mind you i got a place on the Grand National...I only won a fiver,Ha!Im hoping Woods will K.O Taver later in the early hours of sunday morning.I've got a bet on him to win by K.O in rounds 6,7,8 at the price of 60-1 on each of the rounds.Good odds them like.Getr yourself in the bookmakers my friend and shot a pound or two on.;)
I must admit that I had mixed feelings about this. Having all the fights on the same night made it sound like a bit of a circus and I thought that there is more chance of getting seriously hurt by a hevyweight if a) you are not very good and b) if you are already tired.
I also thought some of the fighters were very poor indeed, especially some of the first round losers. It really is true to say that the depth of talent in British heavyweights rarely extends below the top three at any given time.
Having said that, it gave the guys the chance of a decent payday.
Barry Hearn is a robbing cunt though, as only the winner got paid anything ..... so he put the show on, paid the winner £25k, charged for tickets and beer and also sold the TV rights ........ no wonder he was grinning all night.
Most of the fights were pretty entertaining, even if half the guys couldn't actually box. The three round format suited most of them actually. I thought Rogan came out a worthy winner as he was a real 3 round scrapper with a good heart and he interviewed well. Good luck to him, shame he is 36 already and probably would tire out after the 6th in a normal fight. He leads with his face, but he'd sell tickets anywhere .... good luck to him.
Dolan has been touted as a prospect for some time, and I remember seeing him a lot as am amateur. He's not a David Haye. He has good well-schooled boxing skills, but to me he lacks power, he is not that exciting to watch and he is way too small to ever make it as a heavyweight. He also came over as either brain-dead or an arrogant arsehole in his interviews.

Your bang out of order here mate Even the two reserves got £2,000 just for being there, the first round losere got £3,500 ,the losing semi's got £7,500 & the losing finalist $ 10,000 so how does that make barry A robbing ****
