Re: Lightweight RBR Double-Header - Thaxton / Khan
Roy Jones got dqd the first time he hit Griffin when he was down . It cost Barrera two points . Bowe got a no decision against Mathis for doing it yet Kahn kept hitting this guy when he was down and the ref never even took a point .
Real home town favourtism and we thought Cortez was harsh on Ricky !
Re: Lightweight RBR Double-Header - Thaxton / Khan
Drops him twice n hits him when floored twice, did'nt even appolagise 4 it in the after fight interview:rolleyes: prob would'nt have made any diffrence 2 the outcome but still.....
Re: Lightweight RBR Double-Header - Thaxton / Khan
OK gonna unpin this one as there was no rd by rd Khan won in round 7 with his feather fist opponent going down on the canvas 3 times.
same old same old from Khan... maybe one day they will put him in with someone good.
Warren is talking about Nate Campbell.... but would like another fight beforehand.
did i hear it right that Warren only has a years contract left with Khan.... explaines alot to me if that is what was said at the start of the show ;)
Re: Lightweight RBR Double-Header - Thaxton / Khan
Even mildly competitive while it lasted?

is that a question or a statement ?
i would say no the guy had no power and was the punching bag the matchmaker expected... no risk for Khan pointless ;)

Yeah sorry Ouma , I would have done a rd by rd if I knew nobody else was. It wasnt an exciting fight . Kahn was outboxing him for the first few rounds, then Mckenzie scored the 5th to Krystanjen ( or however you spell it ) cuz he said Kahns workrate has dropped and he was visibly fatigued with his mouth open .
Then in the 7th Kahn rushed him suddenly and hit him full force whilst he was defenceless on the floor . Did the same with the 2nd knockdown . The bell should have gone but I think the timekeeper was watching the fight cuz they allowed Kahn at him again. The Dane fell over this time but Vann stopped it straight away even though the Dane was up. Disapointing end . Kahn still isnt the finished article yet but against old men like Campbell and Casa youd have to give him a chance based on youth .

Very sorry guys...I only just got back into the house now....missed the whole thing, didn't even get the highlights reel. Hopefully it'll be up on youtube soon.
On the other hand, I must admit I was quite happy to see that Derry Matthews got beat, he's always struck me as a dirty fighter, and it sounds like he was comprehensively done.

Re: Lightweight RBR Double-Header - Thaxton / Khan
Yeah, just a note to back up what GAME says really,
I was watching earlier ... good performance in that he is still winning, but as Barry McGuigan said he would like to see him in with another decent opponent before he fights for a world title....and to be fair to Khan his opponent had a fairly tight and high held guard, which always made him a little awkward to break down...but he got there, so job done.....
But always room for improvement, the low left hand may one day get him knocked out....and I'm quite a Khan fan, but he is open to the right handed head shots...
