Re: Hopkins Won In My Eyes
Ugly fight. I give the nod to Joe barely. i had Joe winning 7-5, plus 1 for BHOP, for the knockdown. Could have been scored even, but the main reason Joe got the decision, and deserved the desicision, is because BHOP made Joe fight BHOP's fight at first, but then Joe switched it, and BHOP couldn't switch it back, or make proper adjustments, besides trying to catch an extra breather on some cheap shat. Now with that being said, when it was BHOP's fight, it was dominating, Joe's wasn't. But, Joe's run was through more rounds. IMO, if this fight happened a few years ago, BHOP wins for sure.

Whitaker made a lot more of his punche then Calzaghe does. Look at the Chavez fight and the power shots Whitaker was throwing that night. Calzaghe's punches are literally slaps.

More hate.
Well, he rocked hopkins in the 10th with a 'slap', he floored eubank with a 'slap', he floored lacy in the final round with a 'slap'.
Beaten lacy, kessler, hopkins, reid, eubank, has a record of 45,0,0 and been champ for 11 years, now a two weight champ.
Nor bad for a 'slapper with no power'.
It doesnt take a genius to work out that a 'slapper with no power' doesnt get to be 45,0,0 champ at two weight divisions and champ for 11 years without being good at something?
Whats he good at? What are joes good points? Or is it all fluke? Is he a cheater or something? A conspiracy?
Surely you must have something good to say about a champ such as calzaghe?
Atm you seem like a hater, whatever he does, whoever he beats you will never rate him.

Hopkins landed the cleaner shots. Calzaghe fights like a kitten and could not hurt Hopkins. Hopkins hurt Calzaghe on the other hand.
O RLY? Who held like a beeyotch for dear life COUNTLESS of times, who NEEDED to rest for an eternity in boxing, who RAN all night long like a puyee, who looked as if he didnt want to be WITHIN TEN FEET from the mighty JoeCal?

If they were slaps, how come the much bigger Bernard Hopkins was afraid to slug it out with him? You're being very inconsistent here.
-
Re: Hopkins Won In My Eyes
Bernard has never just slugged it out recklessly like Arturo Gatti. He's always chosen his spots.

How come bernard was rocked and had to clinch in round 10 when he looked like he would go down?
Its just hate mate, thats all;)

Yeah sure very good way of choosing your spots in this fight. JMM chose his spots in the last Pac fight a million times better than Nard did but he still lost.

Yeah, this double standard's just got to go. This irrational hate is what's gonna kill the sport.

If you had an ounce of intellegence you'd probably realize, 1-I freely acknowledged that I scored the fight for Calzaghe, and 2-Hopkins not being able to get off cleanly is a testament to how good Calzaghe is, moron.

Stop with this dribble.
The shot he floored Eubank with was nice. He slapped Lacy into oblivion and it was more just the culmination of punches when he floored Calzaghe.
Calzaghe is good, I'm not denying that, top 5 P4P probably top 3. But he's not Superman. He doesn't have punching power worth anything, I never saw Hopkins bothered in the 10th round except by the low blow and Hopkins won that round imo.
Want some nice things? He has good speed and a good work rate and when he chooses to he can box nicely from the outside. He would have been better served doing more of that outside boxing last night imo.
But he doesn't have much power which is why everyone laughed the Calzaghe KO4 guy off. It's not hating, it's a known fact that Calzaghe isn't a hard hitter. I can't remember the last guy he KO'd convincingly. As far as I know he has only stopped Mitchell and Manfredo lately, both of which were questionable calls.

What nonsense. Nard wouldn't have ran like a beeyotch if all Joe did was slap.

Nonsense: Denigrating a fighter's legitimate achievements by calling him a slapper. Frigging ingrate.

You scored the fight before it happened because you hate Joe so this thread isn't saying much.

Did I say it degraded his performances? No I said he's done an excellent job for not relying on punch power and still winning 45 times. You just have an erection for Joe.

Umm...no he didn't rely on his punching power. I think EVERYONE will agree with me on that. Come on man this is like Royal but even worse because you use clear English so we know there isn't anything lost in translation, you're just a knob.

So you mean to say Nard ran all night long from a guy with no punching power at all? Doesnt make sense.

Re: Hopkins Won In My Eyes
Hopkins just ran from Wright, He doens't do it because he scared of his opponent, he does because he is too old to be extremely physical on the inside against opponents.

Bit funny that they end up with same score as final scoring judge 116-111 i Can't help but think that he was stitched up for the white boy comment.
