Re: could Calzaghe end up higher than RJJ in the all time p4P list
I think the only fight out there that will boost Calzaghe's legacey is Pavlick.
As for who ranks higher in terms of all time standing I wold say Jones even if he avoided certain fighters in his prime.

No, Joe will never be considered greater than Jones.
right Joe may never be considered greater than Jones, but wouldnt agree that Tarvers a class above Reid, Reid was a great fighter in his day, yeah he should have retired long before he did, but in his prime he would have caused anyone problems, what makes Tarver that good? been lucky enough to catch Jones at the right time?
Where is Reid's signature win? Every time Reid stepped up in class he lost - his biggest win was who, Hacine Cherifi? Vazquez, a blown up old LMW? I guess it's Henry Wharton. Reid is far more likable guy, but he is really not better than a top level journeyman.
Tarver beat Eric Harding, Glen Johnson, Reggie Johnson, Montell Griffin, lost a debatable fight to Jones, then beat him twice more. Oh, and he just beat Clinton Woods. Tarver ain't an ATG, but he talks like one and people hate him for it. Nonetheless, he's a world class fighter.

WHY ? Pavlik is the world middleweight champ , why on earth would he want to move up to SM which is a joke division anyway , or LHW ? Calzaghe is unbeaten but is now trying to cement his status , which in my opinion he should have thought of 6 years ago.

And that, my friends, has been my problem with Joe Calzaghe all along. Good posting

I agree with you that Calzaghe should have been the star that he is now 6 years ago but that did not happen for many different reasons.
From Pavlik's point of view a fight with Calzaghe would shoot him straight into the top 4 or 5 P4P and earn him loads of $$$$.
As for Calzaghe he is the only good young fighter in his prime around the same weight.
