But can you not read, he was suppose to fight Dennis Inkin last night but he pulled out twice and then an Amercian pulled out. To even fight was good enough for froch to be honest.
He was given the opportunity to fight Calzaghe a year ago and bottled it. The phone call on ITV was just a bit of pr for Froch.
It's easy to look like Sugar Ray Robinson against fighters like that Polish guy. It's when you move up in class that you discover how good fighters are, and Froch hasn't fought anybody near world class yet. His last two fights were a club fighter and a porn star. Let's see how good he looks against a full-time world-class fighter in his prime. I think you're in for a bit of a shock when we do.
I think your in a bit of shock to be honest. If that was a carl froch barely trying last night, looking for one shot to end it, I cant wait to see a Froch being at his A game. He will up his game a lot against a better fighter and you know that for a fact. So you cant really say he would fight like that against a better fighter to be honest. He will feel a lot more pressure and we will see the best of Froch, he can only get better and he is doing that.
He didnt bottle the fight at all, he faught Peter Manfredo instead...
Froch was given the opportunity to fight Calzaghe and bottled it.
Because he's never fought anybody near wotld-class, we have no idea how he'll handle the pressure of fighting them and no idea if he'll be able to up his game. He may crumble completely, which is the impression I get from his interviews. I really feel that he doesn't believe in himself against top guys, which is why he's 31 and still hasn't stepped up and why he bottled the Calzaghe fight.

Can you not actually read or something? He was suppose to fight INKIN who PULLED OUT TWICE! he is top ten. BERRIO also didnt want anything to do with Froch either, who would have also been his hardest fight to date. He has been a pro for 5 years, he is getting a better record and pushing up against better fighters from now on. INKIN was the better fighter, can you not see this????? He is GOING to fight better fighters in a matter of time. Just wait.

You havent seen anything or him to be honest VD, you cant judge a few fights you may have seen, all of which ended in a Carl Froch KO as well. Calling him a fraud is just a dumbass thing to say to be honest. You just need to wait and see his next fight, he will be a world champion ;)
I seen 13 Fraud fights. That's more than enough to make an opinion on him. Is he talented? Yes he is. That's obvious. Can he be a title holder? Now a days he can be. Is he elite? No. Can he beat Kessler, Green, Calzaghe or Bute? No. He's not as good as them. It's that simple.
But hes on the up and people like Kessler and Green are on the down. Bute isnt showing too many signs of fighting a top ten fighter either and isnt making any noises at 168. Kessler-Froch is very likely to happen and it will be a very good fight. A question VD, over these 13 fights, is carl getting better or not? Thats what I need to know...
He's 30 years old. He's as good as he's going to get.

Thats where your wrong though, hes getting better as hes getting older, with more experience and better opposition hes growing more complete. He would bang with anybody between 168-175 fact.

Re: Froch impressed last night!
It's not a division of bangers though.
Kessler, Bute, Taylor, Mundine and then down a bit, Miranda, Andrade, Dirrell, Ward, Pascal are all fighters who are much more complete and well rounded then Froch. In fact I'd take all of them over Froch and the only one I would give Froch any shot to beat is Pascal and I doubt that.

Almost making it into the ring with another fringe contender doesn't count as an actual fight. When he actually gets in the ring with a world-class fighter we'll find out, won't we? Until he does we can only speculate. But the way he bottled the Calzaghe opportunity tells me all I need to know about how he really feels. I wouldn't be surprised to watch him melt down in the ring when he finally does get in with somebody good.

I thought Froch could have taken him out in 1 round but Froch didn't and that's his fault. He won and that's what matters in the end.
Hopefully we can see him step it up in class soon.

Re: Froch impressed last night!
I didn't thnik Froch looked impressive, he was up against a third choice oppoentthat was completely outclassed and he only KO'ed him.
He should have boxed and impressed but he didn't.
If he wasn't going to spark him in round 1 he should have outclassed hime to impress.

Re: Froch impressed last night!
He got a KO win over a undefeated although late replacement but it didn't really tell us anything. Thats what he was expected to do. I wanna see him in against another top 10 guy

In reality this was his audition.
Whether it was Inkin or not, this fight was meant to be his proof of quality and I don't feel he showed that in this fight.

Yeah but at least against Inkin it would have meant something, the guy was a last minute replacement, plus he was unbeaten although against limited opposition but still he had never lost. When your training for 3 or 4 different styles it can affect your preparation. He got the win which is what mattered most (ask Witter) now its forward from here hopefully!

Well I wish him luck, but honestly after that performance I can't see him threatening the likes of But and Kessler.

I think he'd give Bute a run for his money, would be 50/50 IMO but I agree with you on Kessler

It could be 50/50.
Froch undeniably carries power and the uppercut is a strange blow to have as a signature punch.
I just feel that Bute, although he's a big strong guy, has the ability to fight like a light pressure fighter and that type of fighter can trouble Froch as he likes to take his time.
But look, I'm being over critical, let's see how he does shall we:)

He clearly won the fight though. There was no doubts the pole had a monster chin, so I think he did well in beating him the way he did. but all i have to say is, lets hope he gets a good next fight.

Re: Froch impressed last night!
You've gotta give Tam credit. Considering he's (allegedly) not Carl Froch, he's remarkably persistent in defending him against all the people that think he's utter shit.
-
Re: Froch impressed last night!
For me it's hard to judge this guy after this weekend's fight. The guy had to prepare for like twenty different opponets, was the so called headliner being upstaged by the witter bradley fight, i think it was pretty impressive just in itself for him not to have fallen asleep during this fight. After the ref gave the ring instructions i was half ass expecting the camera to pan back just to show Albert Rybacki gone and another last minute opponet jumping through the ropes....ok i'm exagerrating but this whole experience must have been a huge let down after another for froch. With his only real motavation being witter letting down the crowd and the fight being shown on U.S. tv. Now just to be fair what i did see reguardless of the circumstances didn't look to threating to any of the other top guys in the division. He looked really slow, hands were low, and took a little long getting rid of a guy who miranda just for example i belive would have KO'ed in the first or second. Not a fair judge of what he really has to offer though.

Re: Froch impressed last night!
I actually hope Tam Seddon is right and Froch blows everybody away at supermiddle and then light heavy. I'd love to see an English hands-down no-defence guy just bomb everybody out easily but somehow I just can't see it. :)
I'd be delighted if Tam is laughing his head off at us when Froch sparks Kessler and Jermain Taylor though. :)

Oh! don't get me wrong... I like his style.
He's a fighter and likes come forward but come on let's be real here he hasn't fought any Top World Class fighter.

Gotta laugh at this as well:lolhaha:
Monster chin? what the hell you've been smoking Tam, any guy in the top 10 would have finished him in a round, probably Froch as well just that he was looking for the perfect shot to look good rather than letting his hands go.
Fair play to the Pole, he had guts, but he's an useles boxer.

Re: Froch impressed last night!
hahaha, im not Carl Froch, lol i wish. MySpace.com - Tam! - 17 - Male - southport, UK - www.myspace.com/manchild88 this is me!
But all i can say after this weekends fight is I PERSONALLY thought he did well against the pole. He was clearly dominant and YES he did want to put on a show and didnt take him as seriously as he could have done, even Carl admited that. As for fighting a top ten fighter its simply a matter of time before we see it. It was suppose to be Inkin this weekend but it didnt work out. I dont think he will simply 'blow them away' but I think the guy has real talent in the weight class and packs a major punch which would cause MANY problems to any fighter at 168. Yes I admit his defence would have to improve against a better fighter, but still to this day he hasnt had to prove it and his defence has proved okay so far, hence why he is still unbeaten. I think when he does fight a better fighter he will step up himself in terms of performance and rightly so, he will feel pressure and fight at his very best.
We will all have to wait and see how it goes for Froch, I hope and personally believe he can be up there with all of them. If he is a fraud like VD says he is, I would be gutted because he is my favourite fighter. But he wont be going down easy I can tell you that for nothing. You can all laugh at me if he does loose and I will put my hands up and say the best fighter wins. Im not going to be like most people and make shit up about him loosing, making excuses etc etc. If he is outclassed he is outclassed, simple as. But I cant see that happening so we will all have to keep watching him.

Re: Froch impressed last night!
Froch is a poor fighter, his power is decent and can get him out of trouble, but that big nose will be flattened as soon as he gets in with the big boys, looking forward to Kessler taking him to pieces.

If he put as much emphasis on his defence as he does on his punches then he'd be a very good fighter

Tam i respect you for sticking up for your fighter but you go over the top sometimes, are you being serious the Polish guy had an iron chin ?? he was 37 year old club fighter, and would of been stopped inside of 2 rounds against any elite Super Middleweight. certainly not what i would class as an "Iron chin" when he would be stopped inside of 2 rounds by any of the top 10 Super Middleweights. I don't think Froch looked that impressive considering the opponent he was up against. I've seen him look much better in the past, the guy was a punch bag thats why he was chosen as a replacement for Froch because it was the kind of fighter he could do whatever he wants against. Im not saying its Froch's fault for Inkin pulling out but thats just the way it is. Sadly i still haven't learnt anything new about Froch as of yet i want to find out how good he can take a punch, can he adapt, etc.

You wish you're Carl Froch?
whats the matter in wanting to be your favorite boxer ?
Nothing really, but you're young enough to make something of yourself.

Im not really too good at boxing, Im 0-2 and had my last two fights two years ago. Im just concentrating on getting into shape for maybe another one in decemeber, im not going in there to get beaten again. I would never be a pro, im too clever for that ;D

As ive said before its just a waiting game now to see who he has next. As for him having a good chin, im standing by that statement. 37 or not some of those shots would have decked most people.
