After watching that fight I had to chuckle...
Although I haven't stepped between the ropes in about 6 years, I had amassed an amatuer record of 67-3-2...
While watching the fight I saw that both fighters looked as if they had never been in a ring before, much less had ANY "training".
As was said prior, anybody should be respected for putting themselves in harms way stepping through those ropes... But what was done in that ring was NOT boxing... I don't know what that was...
I'm not calling anyone out cuz that's laughable... Like that fight and the rediculous build up.... But I KNOW... ANYONE with any semblence of boxing ability would "sweat pea" this kid's ass.

With 13 KOs it looks like this may not be your sport. If I had 13 Ko losses on my record I would seriously be thinking not only about where this mockery of a career is going but my personal well being... Carlos Monzon killed his wife, Diego Coralles and Sugar Ray Robinson both beat up theirs. Ike Ibeabuchi is in jail for rape and for being a complete mentalist. Harry Simon has killed 5 people through reckless driving. Clifford Ettiene is serving 150 years for attempting to shoot a police officer.
Paul Spadafora was jailed for trying to shoot his girlfriend and James Butler famously murdered Max Kellermans brother.
That's just some of the real serious misdemenours carried out by some boxers.
Then you have convicted killers like Don King promoting the sport, and I doubt many of the other promoters are much better, to say nothing of the sanctioning bodies.
Then we got all the crap during the prefight buildups shown on HBO.
I mean honestly, is was the Zelenoff Hartley affair any more cringeworthy or embarrassing than the current state of the Mayweather family?
Look at Roger and Floyd Sr and tell me they don't come from the exact same trailer park as Hartley did?
How about Mayorga and his prefight comments? Hatton calling Floyd a wanker and making obscene gestures so that Sky had to stop broadcasting?
I really fail to see anything that Hartley and Zelenoff have said or done that is not said and done all the time by the biggest boxing superstars, the only difference is the medium, HBO rather than youtube.
I don't think Hartley has done anything wrong. He's a club fighter with a poor record who probably makes next to no money in the sport. If his popularisation on youtube makes him a bit more popular and earns him a few extra bucks why would begrudge him that?
I've personally found the Zelenoff Harltey rivalry to be highly entertaining, rivalling any prefight buildup for any boxing event in recent years.
Yes it may be a guilty pleasure like watching Big Brother or internet porn but virtually all of you hypocrites have watched all the videos and followed the rivalry and now attempt to distance yourself from it all.
The only reason it became as big as it did is because we all wanted to watch so any pontification and sanctimony from users here is just another example of an escort turning up her nose at a brothel worker and calling her a whore :rolleyes:
