Nate Campbell-Joan Guzman "all but set"

OK I'm in some bizarro world I think right now. I'm a big Casamayor fan but he's an absolute shell of what he used to be. Am I the only one who remembers him dropping nearly every round to Santa Cruz? Santa Cruz? He was losing on the scorecards to the very unskilled Michael Katsidis. He's a shell who is one or two fights away from being retired or irrelevant in the lightweight division.

Guzman however is in his prime and is one of the most talented fighters on the planet. That's how he's the much bigger threat to Pac.

i can't believe after all these years, people still think pac is going to get outboxed for 12 rounds. and to suggest guzman is the guy to do it, a guy who throws wide and trades with no POWER!? ha i laughed, the treats are the ones can end a fight at anytime. guzman had little power at superfeatherweight even though he blows up to 160 plus between fights. pac will not be outboxed for 12 rounds for sure in a few rounds but no way for 12 whole round. his way too quick and has his own skills to beat anyone out there.

Do you have to win all 12 rounds nowadays? Well in Pac fans mind that's probably the only way he loses but whatever.

Pac has already been outboxed and beaten before by Morales and Marquez. Guzman would do it differently if he did it obvious but to say he's not a threat to Pacquiao is stupid, there are no two ways about it. Especially considering you guys think David Diaz presents some risk. What a joke PSL. He trades but he still doesn't get hit hardly at all and rarely gets hit clean.

casa should of well damn lose that fight with santa cruz but remember he was coming off a long lay off, im not making any excuses but thats true. in the katsidis fight he showed his power is still there and he still can be slick.

My point is, this guzman talk is unproven cause he hasnt impress me. Whos his biggest win and in what fasion? He has skills but imo is overhype. Plus his already mid 30's not only is he overhype imo, he can turn 50 over night any time now without power to save his ass. Unlike casa old as well but experienced with top fighter and he has power to end a fight still. and thats why i think his the bigger threat to pac and maybe the best lw right now til jmm and pac test the waters in the division.

Joan Guzman doesn't give me butterfly in my chest. He can run all night against Pac, but he can't hide. He can match Pac's speed, but there's no way in hell he can match Pac's power and chin. ;)

see what your not getting is that guzman is NO FLOYD, HIS NOT JMM NOR IS HE ERIC! his a mid 30 fighter that still unproven unlike those three guys, they were all top proven fighter before they even turned 30.

no you don't need all 12 rounds but the ones he'll lose will take its toll on him, therfor he'll need to stay away while earning points which will be difficult cause if you can hit pac he can hit you. I don't think guzman will land enough for 12 rounds to win while being safe. if he makes it out for 12 rounds it could be a case of him not landing much pac chasing him and the fight is boring. Would be a win for pac cause his aggression vs guzmans avoiding will be the only thing the judge will have to score :-\

I'll tell you what, come back after the Campbell fight and after he beats the lightweight champ. If he beats him but I think he will. Will you still say he's not a threat? And he's facing a greater threat at lightweight times 10 then Pac is. Who cares what his age his? He debuted 2 years after Pacquiao, has a lot less ring wear too. He doesn't have half as many fights as Casa considering Casa's amateur career in Cuba. He's obviously still got the legs so what's the problem?

But hey, if the fights took place on Boxrec Pac would win any day. I have some mean things to say but I'll save them.

I didn't neg rep him just wanted to get it across that that statement was ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous but when it pertains to Pac I wouldn't expect much else from that crowd. And it would hardly be devastating, my rep doesn't come from a clan of strokers and/or an alternate account.

PSL is a good poster though, I've got no problem with PSL but that comment was something I would expect from a wind up poster.

if he beats nate then i will say he has proven himself, but we've been talking about the current so right now his no threat. atleast not as much of a threat. You should start praying now though cause nate is similar to guzman, both started their pro career obnormally late. But yet Nates been in far better fighters already then guzman has. taht should tell you somethings.

Casamayor is past it, can anyone imagine Guzman losing a round to Santa Cruz? Maybe if he was just cruising late but that would have been a total mismatch, rusty or not. And beating Katsidis is not that great of an accomplishment IMO and he had to go through a lot just to do that. Casamayor was a great fighter, he has bigger wins than Guzman but he's not the better fighter now. I feel this is so obvious I will quote Fenster. Fact.

I havent read much about this match up but I noticed on boxrec it says its going to happen. I might just be really slow about this match up but I havent heard shit. But I think its an outstanding one and I think this fight could be enough to entice Manny back to 135 where he belongs. This match IMO will show who needs to fight Manny. Fuck ODHL, hes way too big. Mannys career can be defined with a fight against the winner of this fight and it must happen! 147 is far too heavy for him.

I think Guzman can do this. He is so fast and I think hes the real man at 135. Hes the one guy IMO who can beat manny at 135 and I just want this match up to happen.

This is actually at 135. For all of Campbell's titles. And I'm taking Guzman too, think he's of the most talented guy in boxing.

Guzman is fresher and is the better skilled fighter infact he is probably top 5 most skilled fighter in boxing today if he had power he would be a force to be wreckoned with

If Nate shows up driven as he was against Juan Diaz I think he can beat the uber talented Guzman, however Guzman is class.

Guzman could and would. His best wins were against a gatekeeper(Barrios) and a contender (Sotto)

Guzman is a great fighter by potential not by accomplishment.

beat Campbell (Impressively)and have a better chance of landing pac.

A chess match like battle. I think a seasoned fighter like campbell can pull it off. I don't discredit guzmans skill and talent but he never fought A-class type fighter above 122 division thats why he looks good on those fights. wonder if he fought the marquez, barreras, morales or pacs in the 126 or 130. and keep in mind 0 KO since leaving 122. If campbell can deal juan diaz power i think he can deal guzmans as well. and i don't think juan diaz is less talented than guzman. Guzman speed is good but he is no PBF. He barely beat Sotto in his last fight. Again talk is cheap in boxing. Another "ifs" and "buts"... Lets just wait the result and we'll see who fights next who.
