Regarding you saying I am racist, not racist merely nationalistic, which I am sure you must have some kind of pride in that. I'm glad you back up Mexican fighters it shows you are a boxing fan as am I, I have have backed Miguel Cotto in everyone of his fights previous to this one, and to tell you the truth if more Cotto fans or just regualr boxing fans in general would have given Toni a fair shot at this from the get go I wouldnt be rubbing your face in it so bad. But no one did, they called him a journeyman, a gatekeeper, journalists were writing him off, even the announcers while Cotto was getting worked could not admit to themsleves or the public what was happening.
Your last two posts make it very obvious who you wanted for this fight and when this didnt happen you were upset, granted I would have been also, but dont take away from Toni because he was the better man for this fight. You went right after me because i was putting it all out there for everyone to see that I was a Margarito fan, and to tell you the truth I have already tried to make peace with and sent apologies to anyone who I called out and made any offensive comments towards and while my last post to you was sarcastic I do understand why you are coming after me and it really has nothing to do with my "immaturity" or "crackhead ways" I understand that and maybe when you understand and admit it to yourself we can move on and I say that with complete sincerity.

exactly, especially when everyone here knows well that i never ever mentioned Tony as a journeyman, i was one of the very few that said he would beat Williams in a rematch even way back before Williams lost to Quintana, Margarito won, i'm happy for him, he's getting what he's been kept from for his entire career, and what he has had to work very hard for, the $$$ and the big names, but don't overplay his win, by taking away from Cotto or hell any fighter in this type of situation's attempt or go at a fight

I never said you were the one that called him a journeyman, or any of the other comments, I said alot of Cotto's fans were, I wont say their names because like I said I have made or tried to make peace with lots of them. As the first post on my thread says this wasnt for the gracious Cotto fan or even anything related to Cotto's performance. It was for the people who were being downright disrespectful to a great fighter like TOni. I said I take nothing from Cotto in that fight and like I said I back him in everyone of his fights previous to this one. I dont think that verbalizing or bringing to light the brilliant work that Margarito did against Cotto takes away from Cotto at all.
Many fans just see a brute coming forward taking 4 to give one. But if Toni knew he could do that than why cant that be the game plan? Cotto knew he could outbox Toni get in, get shots off, and get out, he worked his plan, why isnt he being called a runner? He didnt run he executed the plan he thought would win the fight, as did TOni, unfortunately for Cotto he could not carry out his plan for 12 rounds and TOni could. Its as simple as that no love lost for either fighter and in fact much more love and respect for both and I truly hope we can watch Miguel again either late this year or early next as he is an amazing fighter to watch.
I have upset lots of people with my post and in hindsight I can understand why, perhaps you will take a look at my next thread and understand where I was coming from. I never intended to "kick Cotto while he was down".

Know what OnixAA? I've read a lot of your posts, and I've seen you spend a lot of time apologizing to Cotto fans. Maybe I haven't read the real bad ones, but I don't think you've been as bad as some others I've seen. It's normal to jump up and down and gloat a bit when your fighter pulls off a huge victory. I would've done the same myself had Cotto won.
It's hard to keep up with all the posts about Cotto, Margarito, or the fight, when so much has been posted. But every once in awhile I'll bump into a truly ignorant post. THOSE are the ones that piss me off.
So don't apologize so much. I for one believe you give Cotto his due props. And I don't know whether you've said this or not... but I still think Cotto can whip any other 147-pounder in the world today. Can he win in a rematch with Margarito? I'll reserve judgement on that. I read where Cotto said to the press that he tried to go to Margarito's body, but wasn't able to effectively. A statement like that makes me doubt a rematch a little bit. But hey... anything can happen in boxing.

Thank you for that, I have been getting lots of grief over my post and the last thing I want is to just start getting all my posts ignored. Any way thanks for the vote of confidence. And I agree with you, Cotto beats everyone else in the 147 division.

It was such an amazing fight that I can't take anything away from either fighter. Cotto did indeed look ugly at the end of the fight but who could have guessed that Margarito could walk through all of those punches?
