My Red Sox are in a hole right now but hell they have been in worse. The only thing is the Sox are lucky to even be there right now when you think of the injuries they have dealt with over this season: Papi still isn't 100%, Beckett is hurt, Manny half assed it over half the year, JD Drew has been hurt (as usual), Schilling was out the entire year when we expected him back for at least the Playoffs.
The Red Sox were down 3-1 to the Indians last year and they won 3 in a row and then swept the World Series...and they were down 3-0 to the Yankees with 1 out left and they won 4 in a row and then swept the World Series in 2004. So not only have I seen the BoSox win 2 more World Series than I ever thought they would, but they have done so in amazing fashion

They have been in some deep deep holes before and found a way to win it all. If they win game 6 it's all over, the Rays will wilt and might not even show up for Game 7. Just watch for their body language to change, the Rays are going to have that "Oh Shit" moment once the Red Sox are able to really get going and that will be fun to watch (again ;))
But hey if they don't get it done then they had a hell of a season Papi was hurt the majority of the season, Drew was hurt, Beckett hasn't been right, Schilling hasn't thrown anything this year, and Varitek hasn't hit worth a damn.
That sucked, really sucked. I think they should send out Johnny Gomes game 6 to hit someone in the mouth and get the momentum going the other direction. They should win tomorrow, I'm really scared. It should be entertaining to see JD Drew going back to Philly though, I know the hate isn't so intense anymore but damn it would still be great to see them throw batteries or something again. Philly fans are dicks though.
You don't want to fight the Red Sox and you don't want to shift momentum....if Joe Maddon is thinking anything like that then they have already lost.
