Margarito has been calling his fake ass out on every site and every show Tony appears on, just last week, Tony made some very funny remarks about him wanting to fight Jorge Arce, in which he said it's all fair if Oscar Can fight PAC, then I should be able to fight Arce. Tony has called Oscar a punk and a coward ;D What is your cross dressing hero afraid of? Now I know what is in Oscar's Olla, nothing but chicken soup ;D

It's only natural popular fighters will have SOME delusional, annoying, morons following them. But the majority of fans are reasonable concerning the guy they like most.

I thought that would happen with Cotto fans. I would see endless threads about Cotto. Some threads were just about Cotto beeing seen wearing sunglasses in Las Vegas and people just gettin aroused and posting that he was the greatest thing, etc. When he lost I thought "Finally! Adios to Cotto threads" and nope, we had EVEN MORE threads talking about how he didn't really loose but how it all had to do with his nose, because it was not a full moon, because he didn't shave as well, etc. It became more annoying. But his hardcore fans just makes me want to see him loose.
I don't like Mayweather because of his trash talking, fans have nothing to do here. I admire his talent. But after seeing how people say that X boxer would completely dominate him, boxer Y would totally destroy him, etc. over and over and over and over again, and how he is so afraid of facing X or Y boxer then I just want to see him get another easy desicion and see if everybody shuts up.

Nope DannyG. I don't come up with threads that talk about his back, a thread with pics of him just walking in Las Vegas, about how muscular and sexy he looks, etc. At least I'll talk about how ODLH can loose against X or Y, his flaws at the moment, etc. Something I am yet to hear from you and your adored Cotto. Sure, and can agree with pretty much everybody why ODLH doesn't want to face him. ODLH simply doesn't have the same qualities he had a few years ago. I am not looking for excuses like you when Cotto lost. At least ODLH didn't loose when he fought a champion in his prime for the first time. Cotto's face after the fight explains what happens to anybody who didn't see the fight.

See, that's what differentiates some of us boxing fans from others. I don't NEED to think about DLH's fans to dislike him. I've done that for years with or without the fans.

And for the record... I'm one of those Cotto fans who writes a lot about him. But do not include me among the fans that make excuses for his loss to Margarito. I've always come clean, and as objective as I can.
One thing about Cotto, though. Love him or hate him, he's a warrior and will get in the ring with ANYBODY. He doesn't need a goddam computer spitting out opponents that present little danger of putting a scratch on his pretty face, unlike some OTHER boxers out there.

When fans hype their fighter to the level beyond, what he has done in the ring, I have a tendency to wish for that fighter never really making it that level. Haye is a case in point - on the one hand, I'd love to see an exciting heavyweight, on the other hand I wouldnt mind seeing (certain) people proved wrong. I'm not entirely sure if this is just a wish for confirmation that my own way of seeing things are correct?
Sometimes the fans are right, and the one they back do actually earn the accolades (Pac, Calzaghe, Pavlik, Margarito, Mijares), I felt was given out prematurely. In that case - fair play, they are due for belated respect. Even if I wont admit me ever being wrong on the given subject, of course.

What make Pacfans annoying were just the fans here on the INTERNET. Making silly things and over hyping Pac. But the normal fans (probably Filipino citizens) are cool fans. We also criticize Pac and e hate him for not focusing on his boxing career. For example, pursuing his celebrity career here on Phil, making him distracted and not focused on his fights. But man, Pac is still our hero, at the end of the day were still at his back cheering for him at any fight he would be.
What makes Pac haters are the internet-Pac-groupies...:mad:

yea pacman fans can be annoying but even pavlik fans too. on youtube is where u see some of the most racist ever. especially from pavlik fans. but i still like kelly and pacman

Hate is a strong word. Why would someone hate a boxer because of his fans?
I guess it's because one is nursing a wounded bias. Let's take this case: Had Barrera pummeled Pacquaio the way Pacquaio dominated Barrera, I would surely be hating Barrera's fans if they keep on praising and starting threads about Barrera.
We are all fans of a certain boxer and we may show our admiration for a certain boxer in different ways. Others react rabidly, while others want to be kind of cool. Let's just respect how people show their admiration for their boxers and no one will be hating a boxer because of their fans.
I appreciate Mick and Fenster for the respect they give to fans. Not that I want to kiss their ass but I believe they are the embodiment of respect in this forum.
This is a boxing forum guys. Sometimes, we deserve to be crazy with our fighter especially if he is winning.
Now as a pacfan, i think Pacquaio will get KOed in this fight. To keep myself hoping, I will start a thread that says," Pacquaio is the greatest fighter of all time, he can KO the Klitschos with his left".

I'm fine here dude. Yeah! "MANY" Filipino fans doubted about the Pac-JMM2 decision and wishes to have another fight, than having this so-called "circus show" between Pac and ODLH. And even this fight, many Filipinos doubt that Pac can win. But with all those doubts, I'm sure that all of them is still behind Manny.;)

I think I can form a strong dislike for a fighter while over looking alot of the boisterous bullshit some kool aid drinking groupie fans shout.
The blind fandom might help form a resentment for the fighter but overall what kill's me is how easily some tear down the opponents of they're fav's with easy disregard to reality/respect in attempts to give that Fav. immortal status..Supporting and backing your favorites is what fan's do,but some act like obsessed stalkers.

I don't hate a fighter because of his fans. But i felt really satisfied when Hopkins was schooling Pavlik on Saturday night....and that has something to do with a few of his fans who were starting to grate.
