Re: Final Thought: Why I think Evander Will Win
If you dislike Holyfield, at least dislike him for the right reasons. He beat Tyson legitamately...twice....and im a Tyson fan. Fouls happen, as a Tyson fan you should know this. If you think Holyfield should have had a point deduction, your beef should be with the ref. It is the refs job to maintain control in the fight. It wouldnt have mattered though cause Holyfield was beating him in every category at his own game.
As for the steroid controversy, in this county you are innocent until proved guilty. The prosecution, or in this case the commitee investigating this matter, has the burden of proof. The supposed evidence against him is circumstancial, as there is no hard evidence against Holyfield. They failed to make a case, and Holyfield should be given the benefit of the doubt until something substancial is brought to light.

You mean he didnt father 11 children from 7 different women,he didnt headbut at some point in allmost every fight at heavyweight?
Damn,a lot of DNA and film evidence must be completely wrong
Re: Final Thought: Why I think Evander Will Win
I think all of this slighting Holyfield on grounds of his personal marital, family dealings is pretty weak!.Start a list of fighters and you will find many indiscretions and questionable behavior.....as you may as well with everyday people pointing fingers.Who the f!!!! are we to past judgment on a stranger.....talk about playing the hollier than thou role?
As with the Religion be promoted ,wearing his faith on his sleeve.Give me a break. At time it seems this sport and a mans faith go hand in hand...and Holyfield certainly is not the first nor the last fighter to praise what ever higher power they follow in times of victory and defeat....again the list is endless.A man drops into a corner prior to a fight,Asked about retirement....its in gods hands,Bible versus on a pair of trunks is not isolated by any means. No matter if its Holyfield singing hymns coming into the ring or Tyson praising Allah repeatedly on that same stroll.....seriously?
As for Tyson vs. Holyfield 2.....Tyson knew exactly what was coming his direction, getting KTFO....from the moment he was shook off of a double left hook/right hand and backed up in the 1st round the writing was on the wall. And if you want to talk about dirty tactics...get a grip!who initiated the first head butt,Tyson in the first round to Holyfields gut....knocking Holyfield back wards.Tyson was looking to the ref on numerous occasions, pissing & moaning instead of standing in and fighting like a champion. And there is absolutely ZERO excuse for that foul tirad he went on....be it locking arms and twisting ,Biting, swinging at cops....man that is tired!
Re: Final Thought: Why I think Evander Will Win
Spicolis 100% correct. Holyfield can father as many children as he wants to by as many women he wants. He can thank who ever he wants for his victories. He famous for being a great fighter. Judge his fights not his character outside the ring. Boxing is not the Miss America Pageant, he sholdnt be expected to be a perfect person and do and say all the right things, hes expected to do his job in the ring and perform as best as he can. He has always been respectful in interviews, so he talks about god a lot, does that really offend people? Should he be thanking the devil? Or is he thanking the wrong god cause its not your god? Its ridiculous. Who cares what his beliefs are.

I love how trainer monkey calls Holyfeild dirty fighter and seems to not like what he does but he seems to praise Hopkins who is about as dirty if not worse and as for ross and headbutting you almost make it sound like it is ok for Tyson to bit Holyfeilds ear off which i really dont get dude.

If you ever thought I didnt say Hopkins hit on the thigh, you were inhaling. But I know if it was me,Id rather be hit on the thigh in a clinch then head butted.
Ref's dont stop fights for thigh cuts

He is the slower guy, he is the frailer guy, he is the guy that got dominated in his last title shot. All not true. Use your imagination. Do you think that someone of Valuevs stature is a normal 35 year old athlete in terms of agility, reflexes, speed, etc? Because he only has 1 loss on paper, does he really only have one loss? Hasnt he struggled with fighters in the past, to par with an old Holyfield or even lesser? And does Holyfield need to fight like he did 15 years ago to beat Valuev? Perhaps it is Valuev who is the older fighter tomorrow. Yes Evander is past it, yes hes been in too many wars, but will any of that be relevant tommorow? I dont think it will.
You were absolutely and accurately correct Boom Boom!!!! Knocked it out of the park. The very first time I picked against him ...shame...A slow & fugly fight but Valuez looked like a 50 year old in there and Holyfield was bent over the judges table and screwed.
Re: Final Thought: Why I think Evander Will Win
Unreal. Only in boxing can you do absolutely nothing for 12 rounds and get handed a decision. Evander had a gameplan, stuck to it, and won the fight. I had it 10-2 for the man who should be five time champion. Nothing surprised me about the fight, but the judges scoring. It was a horribly boring fight to watch, but Holyfield turned back the clock enough to get his bounce back and edge the giant in nearly every round with cleaner punches thrown on the inside. How anyone can give Valuev more than 2 rounds is beyond me. Evander should have mad history tonight.
